Summary: Pass on this one...
Review: I bought this game two weeks after release, and played it relentlessly for two weeks. The unique gameplay and perspective on gaming I believe will revolutionize the god game genre, as well as many other aspects of the industry. The graphics were great, the music incredible, and it all ran like a dream (for a little while) on my P2 400.

During those two weeks, I restarted six times, and reinstalled the game 4 times. I finally figured out why. It was not my system, many other people on the internet were reporting similar issues to my own. I waited for a patch, sent emails (unanswered or auto-responded to) to support, and talked with others on the internet for possible solutions to the problems. Nothing ever would work, and I shelved the game for a month and a half. During that month and a half, Lionhead promised a patch, gave many release dates, and never followed through, always having to add a new feature to the patch and therefore having to test it further. The lack of support is disappointing, at best. Maybe fixing things and releasing a series of patches would have made me feel like Lionhead and EA cared about their customers.

Pass on this one, unless a patch is available, and even then I would be wary

Summary: If you want to babysit your game 24 hrs a day choose this!
Review: A vast majority of people who write to Black and White's official website with suggestions have found that they are misinformed by the media and otherwise about the quality of this game. These people are not looking for improvements but fixes for problems that rarely come up in such well made video games as this, during saving and "out of the blue" the program crashes, which may freeze your system all-together. There are no work arounds that operate constantly and they failed to make two expected patch (game fix) dates so far to rectify the issue. This game can be described in many positive colorful ways, all of which is true, but there are serious issues within that somehow failed to surface. This game's important functions like saving your work (work which can be agonizing to some) is less than operational, if at all, and, in most cases reported, will crash your system. The final product has fallen short from the beginning, I would put no trust in this product's proposed functionality as of now. I must although say that there will be a patch sooner than later, but do to the information and the lack there of, I regret I cannot say when without misleading you.

Summary: Don't buy it.
Review: Great concept. I'll give it that. But if you want a game so bug ridden you can't even finish it then buy Black and White. They have offered no tech support what-so-ever. The patch has been delay 3 time now and they always have horrible excuses about why it's delayed. First time some ISP in norway or Sweden couldnt connect after the game is patched. Next the need to make sure the patch works with P4 processors.

Like I said if you want a game that doesn't work and has no tech support to speak of then buy this wonderful little gem.

Summary: Great game but no support
Review: Black & White is great fun, when it works or isn't corrupting a save or corrupting a creature file. I've had the game for two months and it becomes more frustrating by the minute. Lionhead/EA have been working on a patch (allegedly) and has delayed it twice now citing issues that pertain to about 1% of the player base. I personally will NEVER buy another game that is produced by EA or written by Lionhead. I strongly advise anyone who is interested in Black & White to reconsider. If I could get my money back I certainly would! As things stand now, I have a nifty chromium coaster.

Summary: It would be a fun game if you could play it.
Review: The longer you play this game the slower it runs with load and save game times being from five to ten minutes. Lots of crashs to desktop while saving, which means you get to start the game again and endure the tutorials. After four or five times this gets rather annoying. Lionhead and EA have been slow in providing a game patch and have given only usless technical help. It is a shame that a fun game can be ruined by the very people who create it. Well, they did get their money from the sale of the game. Is this all they care about? Maybe they should start to worry about future sales.

Summary: Interesting but disappointing
Review: I bought Black and White mostly because of the hype, and was intriqued by the gameplay. Unfortunately the many technical problems with the game and lack of support from the developer have made the game unplayable after only a couple of weeks. It's become clear that what is on the shelf is a beta version of the game. I stongly recommend holding off on buying this game until a new version is released that has the bug fixes and missing features.

Summary: The absolute greatest game I have ever played
Review: After finding out about this game when searching for files on CNet and finding a video on the game, I'd been anticipating it and had extremely high expectations. And when I bought it, I realized that my expectations were actually lower than what was produced.

Though there were some crippling bugs (which thankfully are being fixed as of today), the game is very beautiful, funny, and intriguing in that stroke-your-ego kind of way. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys plaing games - heck, everyone I've told about the game has not only wanted to play the game, but once they did, became obsessed just like I did-and am. BUY THIS NOW! Oh, and get the patch too.

Summary: Black and White is like the sims theme park.
Review: I love my sims, i have spent a lot of time over a year or so off and on improving them. and i thought i`d love this, but its like controling an entire world but in a childish way. it`s just not adult enough for me. i feel like i`m in a sims theme park. in fact the theme park is really more fun. this just has no challenge and gets too boring... sorry...... you won`t loose much sleep after a couple of days with this one. just so you know i`m 50 yrs old, retired and buy and play action games, mature action games.

Summary: Horrible Game
Review: Bought it, thought it looked cool. I was right it does look cool with its graphics and stuff. But thats the all. The gameplay, AI, and everything else about it completely bored and frustrated the hell outta me.

I became enraged at the stupid pet, stupid hard to use spells, and especially my stupid starving people. I just threw everything in the ocean all day because it was the -only- fun thing I could find to do.

Do not buy this boring and stupid game that only has good graphics. You will probably be as disappointed as I was. Go get EVERQUEST! >)

Review: I got a strategy guide in my Red Alert Game box. I read a lot of it! I hope I can get the game so I really can see the awesome stuff written in the guide!
