I gave this game a 4 outa 5 mostly because the pet adoption center gives it a nice little add on!

Summary: Good Game
Review: This is a good game, although it's a bit overrated. The pets are cute and interact really well (there seem to be a lot of strays..)and the new items are cute. There are cool new little towns where you can go to get a cup of coffee or something, but they all seem to be the same. The game takes a long time to load up (or maybe it's just my computer..) and it's a bit choppy (probably my computer..) but overall it's a good game and if you want pets you should definitley get it. The skins are good, and there are new heads that are really cute/hot/ugly. LoL. I would've rated it a 4 1/2 but I can't.

Summary: Not ready for release
Review: Let me start by saying that I LOVE the SimCity/Sims games; they're totally addicting...On the expanded Neighborhood: Fabulous! Lots of room for population boom, and some awesome, affordable empty houses. The bad news: if you installed over existing games, you may not be able to remodel your old houses without demolition first. (E.g., some old wall panels won't accept a door or window; you have to remove the wall and rebuild it first. Tedious and expensive. Go to SimsPlus to get the money cheat -- you'll need it.) On the Pets: Cute as buttons. Neighbors' pets as well as strays wander from house to house, so even if your Sims aren't ready to adopt, you can still enjoy the animals. The bad news: my Sims are at best indifferent to them. If I make them pet and play with the furries, I see their Fun scores drop. On the new Walls/Floors/Objects/Skins: Big yawn. Not much, and not much appealing. Maybe if you've never downloaded or made anything for the game yourself, you might get a rise; but I was very disappointed. Fan websites have lots more and lots better stuff. On the new Community Areas: There's no accounting for tastes; I found one gorgeous, another boring, another creepy. They are, however, all uniformly small and cumbersome to navigate (you're going to see the MOVE symbol a lot). As for the NPCs, I think the Saxophone Player in the French Quarter is going to go the way of the Tragic Clown: he's cute for about 15 seconds, but by the third rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In," you just want him to SHUT UP. And by the way, your stay-at-home Sim can't go anywhere while his roomie's at work, oh no; the shuttle will only agree to come if ALL the household members are going together at once. On these trips, you also enter another dimension of time and depletion. Say your Sim leaves home at noon, with all his motive bars full green. He arrives at his destination. About two minutes of game time later, it's 9 p.m., and all his motive bars are edging on solid red. When he arrives back home it's still noon, but with hunger, comfort, energy, etc. all depleted, the day is shot. This wreaks havoc with a working Sim's schedule. On the new Interactions: It's good to have some more options of what Sims can say and do with each other; unfortunately, Maxis made some lousy choices, most notably: Gossip. It's the ONLY mode of speech non-playable Sims seem to use, and the playable Sims uniformly detest it. Watch your Social points plummet and your Friends disappear. On the new Careers: It's always nice to have more options, though since we never actually see the Sims at work (*there's* an expansion pack for you), it hardly matters; and given the time/motive distortions and negative social interactions incorporated into Unleashed, a player may never get to see what outfit changes accompany promotions. Maxis clearly put a lot of effort into scale and the visual aspect. And just as clearly, they put too little into concepts and coding. Is it worth buying? Yes, if just to have a greatly expanded neighborhoods. But the price seems awfully steep for a still-buggy Beta..

Summary: More addictive than ever
Review: To tell the truth, I was pretty burned out with the Sims up until a couple of weeks ago. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed downloading new stuff and playing with it for a while, but for the most part, I could take it or leave it. Then I got Unleashed. It was fun, it was creative, there was all this new stuff to do. I actually wanted to play. That's when I made the mistake of introducing my boyfriend to the game. Now I hardly have any time at all on the computer. On the bright side, it's fun seeing him all excited about the new game. On the other hand, I WANT TO PLAY!! I have kitties and puppies I want to train. I want to have my palm read and sell my crops at the vegetable stand, and see my animals chase the bunnies from my garden. There are so many things that I haven't gotten a chance to do yet. I would definitely recommend this expansion pack above all the others...just make sure you have the time to play it!

Summary: Another expansion, another adventures
Review: First off to those that complain about yet another expansion pack: get over it. If you compalin about all the expansion then shut up and wait till Sims 2 or Sims 65 come out. Let those that actually enjoy the game and the expansions enjoy it then listen to your whining. Now to the review:
I think this game is one of the greates simulation game out there. Since the initla realse of the game, The Sims has been entertaining. I have all the expansions and enjoy each of them. Unleashed is yet another example of fine programming. Many complain that its loaded with bugs. It may but what Windows 95 was percect? Get over it. Maxis has always made a point to over patches FREE from their site. Unleashed offers not only new objects, skins, wallpapaers, etc but the pets bring a new element that I, as a pet owner, am thrilled with. My cat is gray, female, and has a tenedencey to bite. So does my SimCat. This is a great game and I recommend it to any Sims lover that also enjoys pets. I give this 4 star because like the other I do get a little bored a few days after playing it. I do keep going back and play a lot more later but I guess I get sick of the same routine. I think the next expansion and/or version should change some of the format a bit actually go to work. Because lets face it unless you have somebody else at home you can't do anything except what the maid. If you enjoy the game and pets, get Unleashed. If you don't then skip it. If you complain about the mutlitude of expansions, get a life.

Review: Finally! This expansion is great, pets are what was missing all along. The new expanded neighborhoods are excellent and the wealth of new objects, interactions, and locales make this a must buy for any fan of the sims. The only problem I've seen is noticable lag in the community lots, but it's still playable.

Review: Hi, I'm an animal freak and yes, i did freak when i found out that the Sims were getting pets!!! I've looked at the graphics and they are so CUTE!!! I'm gonna name them after my seven cats! I already have hot date, which is great, and i can't wait until i get the Sims Unleashed!!!

Summary: Best Sims Yet!
Review: This is absolutely the best Sims expansion pack yet! It's so great to be able to have pets...and your sims will become even easier to please because social interaction with the pets seems to get you further than interaction with other sims. The pets show up as members of your sim family and have needs just like other sims. The new items that come with it are a ton of fun, too. My girlfriend and I haven't been able to stop playing since we got it (which is pretty pathetic if you think about it).
