Summary: Incredibly well done, a must have
Review: Your sims are like your second family. Now you can adopt a cute kitten or puppy, or even get budgies, lovebirds, turtles, iguanas and goldfish!

There are all sorts of accessories that come with the pets, too. There are different sizes of cages for the birds, a fishbowl of course for the fish. There are lizard cages and turtle cages.

For the dogs and cats, there are climbing toys, squeeze toys, food dishes of various sizes, and an assortment of sleeping containers. You can go with the inexpensive curl-up spot to the deluxe canopied princess bed.

The birds and reptiles are just bought "as is", but when you buy your puppy or kitten you can choose its gender and from 15 different types. For cats, go from siamese to striped to minx with no tail. For the dogs, you can get 101 dalmatians, or maybe a terrier is more your style? The web also offers many, many other skin types if your favorite breed doesn't come with the software.

The pets are GREAT. The cats hunt mice, the dogs learn to sit and stay. You can play with your parakeets, taking them out on your finger. I have 3 parakeets at home and they chirp like wild when the budgies come on the screen! So the sounds are definitely very good.

In addition to the pets, this expansion also offers five new careers - education, fashion, circus, culinary and animal care. You can grow food in your garden if you wish, and there are new places to visit in town, including a pet show to show off your new friends.

But the highlight of course are the pets. You can't control them - you just interact with them. But the interaction can be quite fun. Before you know it, other neighborhood pets will be wandering by to say hello! A must-have for any Sim lover, it really adds a lot to an already addictive game.

Summary: The Sims Have PETS
Review: I think that this is the best expansion pack yet. It has a lot of new items, including everything your pet could ever want or need. You can enter a pet in a contest or have your palm read. You can get your pet trained. There are a whole bunch of new clothes as well. There are new actions and the towms are HUGE. You get your old sims with their houses in one part of the community, which looks the same as the old one, but there is more room around it. You can get dogs, cats, birds, turtles, iguanas and more. It even comes complete with it's own crazy cat lady.

Summary: a HUGE improvement over Vacation.
Review: I almost didn't buy this because I was so annoyed at how much trouble Vacation caused. But they seem to have solved some of the vacation problems. Load time is decreased (although still 5 minutes if you have a lot of custom downloads), moving between neighborhoods is back to being seamless, and You don't have to wait a minute or more for each pie menu to show up.

New pets are much much fun. :) Although, a hint: I have not been able to successfully keep birds in any house with a cat. The kitties keep eating the birds, and I haven't been able to stop it from happening.

Gardening is an adventure, although if you are a perfectionist, it can end up being a full time job. The Garden pests are frustrating, but I suppose it's like real life in that way. My hint on this one: have at least one cat, and train them to hunt.

I haven't done much with the new jobs yet, but there are 5 new tracks that look quite interesting.

Summary: What will they think of next?
Review: I've seen review after review and it seems like the best game. You are able to do a whole bunch of things!
-You can buy a dog, cat, bird, reptile, and a fish.
-You can teach your pets tricks to compete in a dog show. Your prize is a trophy
-You can buy toys, food, beds, collers, and much more for your pets
-You can get some new objects for the inside of your house.
-There are some new skins and clothes
-You can go to the farmers market to buy seeds and grow a garden, but beware from pests such as gophers and mice
- Stray dogs and cats come to visit you
-You can hire a pet instructor to do all the dirty work for you!
-You can go to a cafe
-You can go to a park and bring your pets
And much much more I'm sure. Maxis hasn't completed this game I know. There is so much more gamers would like to see to make it more realistic, like going to their jobs, more respncibilities for the children, weather, and being able to drive cars, I would also like to see being able to do go to your neighbors house, teenagers, growing old and dieing. Maybe this could all happen, but that's a lot of work! But Maxis, your doing a great job and keep em coming! I'm waiting for the next expansion pack!

Summary: Interesting
Review: In "The Sims Unleashed", as you probably already know, you get to have pets. I was very eager to get this game, and when I did, I was a little disapointed. Perhaps my expectations were too high. But anyway, your pet is just like a sim, except you cannot control it. And once you get it the only way to get rid of it is to kill it. Other than the pet items, there are not many new items that your sim can buy for his/her house. Though there are some new stairs, wallpapers, etc. I got tired of this game only after a week or so of buying it, so it was not worth the $... I paid for it.

Summary: Game Great...Performance BAD!
Review: Maxiz has done it again...on the good side and the bad side.

Unleashed is a GREAT expansion pack. The addition of pets, interactions and the old towne are terrific, and make for rasically enhanced game play. There are thousands of different ways to make your Sims' lives good, better, or out and out foul. The concept of Unleashed and it's raising the bar on your game play make it a worthwhile addition.

That being said...if performance is an issue for you, I strongly recommend waiting until you upgrade or buy new. I have a pentium 4, 2.0 and 256 Ram, and still have performance issues. (And the system was straight out of the box when I installed it). So this resource-intensive game will potentially knock your performance level down some. Also...as tends to be the case with SIMS enhancements, it was released before it could be fully tested, or at least released before it had been, as this version is chock full of bugs. As of this writing, there are rumblings from MAXIS that patches will be available, so, before you purchase this, I would make sure MAXIS has the patch available.

Summary: A wee bit disappointed
Review: Anyone who plays the Sims often enough will be disappointed with this game, I believe. People who write reviews upon only playing the game once or twice can't give an accurate review. The new objects are great, of course. The new interactions are great as well. The pets? I can do without. And that's the basis of the game. Go figure.
Sometimes I'll instruct my character to play with the cat because its unhappy and she'll just stand there and look at it. It might be a bug, I'm not sure. Random strays on your property will come up to the character and "beg" her. Skunks make a mess of the place and every other day you need to call animal control to get rid of them. And the worst part: the strays will "stray" right into your house. A dog or cat will just walk in the door and start sniffing around. The character either has to keep the pet, or shoo it out of the house. Happens WAY too often (probably every other "Sim" day) and it gets to be annoying. I agree that the bugs should have been worked out before this version was released.
The only positives really are the bigger neighborhood, the "old" town that you can visit, the gardens that you can plant, and new interactions. I really could have done without the pets. They're just irritating.

Summary: Best expansion pack yet!
Review: This is the best expansion pack! It makes the sims so much more realistic! If you are a beginner I would get this and the sims deluxe edition. It is so fun!
To access the cheats screen press shift+ctrl+c.
Here's a cheat type in move_objects on to place things out-of bounds. Also type in rosebud;!;! and highlight the ;! and press ctrl+c then press ctrl+v and hold that until you hear a strange sound. Then, you highlight that, press ctrl+c, then enter then press the shift+ctrl+c combo and press ctrl+v then enter and repeat that step over and over and you will become a multi-millionaire!

Summary: not ANOTHER one!
Review: ...Many of these things is Maxis going to pump out before they realize they need to make a NEW game??? After the end of time, maybe they'll come up with the brilliant idea of making A REAL SEQUEL! WOW! Who would have though Maxis would do that, I mean, after all, they only made FIVE expansions for ONE game. I can't belive they would do this again. The game still has the...sims themselves, the over priced trash cans, 1995 quality graphics, laggy gameplay, and let's not forget the fact that Maxis has been ripping off people like this(30 bucks for one expansion) since 1998. I think I'll ilegally burn a copy and then return it, thanks. >:) Kudos for Maxis, though, for mangaging to ruin a good game with so many darn expansions while still racking in the $$.

Summary: The sims Unleashed
Review: This expansion pack allows your sims to have a cat, dog, bird, snake, fish, etc. It makes your sims very busy between cleaning up after thsir pets and eating, sleeping and other activities. It also adds an Old Town which you can visit for lots of different reasons. I recommend this expansion 100%. (You need the sims or the sims deluxe edition to play)
