Review: i have never written a one line review before but here goes:
this game is AWESOME

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Dune 3D.
Review: Emperor picks up where Dune 2000 left off, and the planet Arrakis is without rule. The three houses are fighting for control of the spice under the Guild's watchful eye, but are the Guild really what they seem?

After you have chosen a house you will be greeted by your leader. The leader of House Atreides is the Duke Achilles, played by Michael Dorn (Worf), and you may recognize the leader of House Harkonnen as Seinfeld's FDR. Near the beginning and end of the game there will be lots of cutscenes between missions filling you in on what's happening, but for the bulk of the game you're pretty much on your own, battle after battle. You will also have the option of forming alliances with subhouses, and this will help greatly in the long run.

The game itself is well designed, it is the first 3D game of its kind, before Warcraft III. The closer you get to an enemy homebase the more their portion of Arrakis resembles their homeworld. The game itself is huge, and takes a relatively fast system to run smoothly on. My system is a 2.0 gHz and it runs fine until the really big missions at the end, when the processor seems to be overloaded keeping track of so many bad guys.

All in all, a great addition to Westwood's Dune series. And, if you're computer isn't fast enough, try the game's predecessor, Dune 2000.

Summary: The best game ever!
Review: this is the best game ever because of the graphics and the role you play. Your trying to get control of the spice only one house will prevale. If you played the sega genesis game Dune : The Battle For Arrakis... I really suggest this game to you because of the game its self. It beats all the war games on the pc. From WAR GAMES the game to Dune 2000 , You've tryed the rest now try the BEST.

Summary: Only 2 Things to Say
Review: 1) It's a better strategy game than either Starcraft or C&C and I was a huge fan of both

2) Seeing the Primier from the C&C series with Spice mouth makes me want to cry in a good way.

Summary: Excellent 3D Strategic Warfare
Review: I like this Game because it has spectacular FX effects and great 3D Images, Also the curse of the game depends of the decitions of the player, that is very important into a strategic game, If you like Strategic games don't let pass this game, Cool!!

Summary: You don't want to avoid it..
Review: If you guys like RTS and especially for Westwood, this is the game that will overwhelm you until when the next generation, C&C Generals arrives. It has certainly unprecedented 3D graphics in RTS history. I just don't know why the hell that many magazines and web sites consider this as a failure. It has incredible well-balanced three factions with replayability in Online. High requirements hold you down? Well, don't worry about it. It even gives you the option of adjusting graphics depending on your system. There's absolutely no flaws in this great game. Interface is surely confortable for even novice players. Furthermore, its cinematics are just awesome since it was the trademark and traditon of Westwood Studios. However, it just looks mush better in this Emperor Battle for Dune. Get this game if you are a RTS fan or you'll regret it.

Summary: Too Unbalanced.
Review: I wanted to like this game because I am a huge C&C fan, but this games "Houses" are not well balanced. The Harkonen are pretty cool and have fast units at a decent price, but their turrets (which is typically a flame thrower) are not very good and get picked off by the simplest ranged attack units. The Atreis have much stronger units and cost more, but they are so slow that smaller quicker units run circles around them before they can target. The Ordos have the best balance, but since the Harkonen can build up faster, the Ordos get run over. And the air units for any of the Houses stink.
The landscape is bland also. Theres nothing to the landscape at all. Just a bunch orangish colored ground with a darker orange color that is the Spice you have to harvest and a bunch of brown areas where you can build. Not very pretty at all.
But not all is bad. In those orange areas where you can't build are sand worms that attack from time (although it seems like they spent alot of time destroying my spice harvesters all of the time) to time. Plus you have tornadoes that do some damage to your buildings, but can sweep away your infantry units rather quickly. The tornadoes look pretty cool. And the units and buildings have decent detail. And last, the cut scenes are very well done, though the story and your mission don't make alot of sense. Plus you get Dune 2000 with this, though this wasn't rated very well and rightfully so.
This game definitley needed more work as evident by the poor sales. This was first and probably last (its hard to pass up on a Westwood game) trip to the Dune universe.
C&C:Generals anyone?

Summary: Traditions...
Review: Some traditions are best kept alive. They bring enjoyement to the public nd consumers. Dune is one of those traditions being kept alive for ten years.
The first Dune II was pretty good. Still, the graphics, music, soundeffects, and difficulty were not the best.
Dune 2000 had its graphics and difficulty amplified, while disregarding music and sef.
Now Emperor has everything. The plot is intricate and interesting. Graphics are amazing, so are the new units. Great music and sef. It is a little difficult to play, so I would advice playing Dune 2000 first.
In Emperor you play three houses: powerful harkonnen, loyal atreides, deceitful ordos- and five unique subhouses. Each has unique technology and strengths. You try to defeat the computer and take control of Dune.
You play so many levels. Every new level you get new units and structures. The units get veterancy bonuses.
Good Luck!

Summary: Th Sequel
Review: Same as the dune 2000 only much tougher on the CPU. (Recommend over 700mmxspeed to play OK )

Summary: Dune, one of my large collection
Review: I realy like this game. I only by games that I can play agenst my PC or my wife. It realy hase great graffics. The only thing I do not like about it is during the story bord line that shows the beging of the next plot of the game you are going to play, it drags and jumps before I play the next game on Dune. I have a HP with a Pentum 4, with a Voodoo5 5500. But other than it plays great, no stalling after I start playing the game. I am 48 years old.
