Summary: Empires Dawn of the Modern World
Review: Empires Dawn of the Modern world is a great game. The
gameplay is easy, the graphics are very good, the sound/music
is just perfect. The campaign is very fun and very nicely made.
There are three campaigns in the game, about the life of Richard
the Lionheart, Captain Yi Sun-Sin, and Gernal George Patton.
Each campaign is different and each they are set in a different
age. Richard the Lionheart's campaign is about the english and
the french battling in a war for the french throne. Captain
Yi Sun-Sin is about the Japanese invasion of Korean. Gernal
George Patton's campaign is about the how the US fought in the
European front in WW2. All is very fun and is historically base.
The mutiplayer for the single or online is very fun. In the
single ramdom map, you choose a civilization, an age, the map,
and either action or empire building. Action is fast and is all
about military. Empire building is longer and you must build
large empires or you shall see enemy unit in your base. You can
also choose to have a deathmatch which you are given alot of
resoures is a all out attack upond your oppenent. You can build
wonders (one olny) and protect it until time runs out. Online is
the same but olny the host do all the stuff I saided. It is
better becaues you have tactics, and coordinates attacks. I have
never played online, but I seen it with my friend playing it.
The ages is the olny thing that I have a camplain about.
There are five ages, medival, gunpowder, imperial, WW1, WW2.
IN the imperial age, when you go to the next age, you have to
choose a different age because that civilization is not a majar
power in the WW1 and WW2 age. It should be change.
Overall it is a good game to play for RTS gamers. Buy it!

Summary: Empires Cool game play..
Review: After playing some other strategy games online, I decided that I was ready to actually buy one. So I was off in search of finding one that was good, and while I was at the store one day came across Empires: Dawn of the Modern World. Unlike most games that I have bought in the past, I didn't install this game untill about two weeks after purchasing. However when I did install it I got an error message saying that the game key was invalid. I tried many times, still the samething. So in my frustration I called customer service. At first the customer service rep asked if I was typing in caps or lower case, then he told my to email them my system details. Come to find out I didn't have the right video card that supported the graphics for this game. I have since upgraded my video card and reinstalled the games...and have been playing ever since.Despite having to upgrade my computer just to use this game might seem to be a hassle to same, but hey, after all I would have had to of upgraded anyway. So now for the real meat and potatoes. As I have mentioned earlier I had played other war strategy games online(renting them online), I have played both Rise of Nations and Age of Empires II using this service. And I must say that Empires is a better game as far as graphics and game play is concerned. The 3D graphics are very good and you can zoom in closer then in other games. Now for the game play, Empires goes from Medieval up to World War II. You can chose between England(UK for WWI and WWII), the Franks(France), Korea, China, the United States, Russia and Germany. Each civilization is unique, for example if you chose England and start off during the Medieval Age then you can build a mind on a site that has either gold or stone. However if you chose the Franks, you will have to have several villagers mind the gold instead. Building walls around your town center is highly recommended if you don't want your civilization to be invaded. There are three campaigns to choose from: Richard the lionheart, Captain Xi, and General Patton, these campaigns take a long time to complete...I still haven't finished Richard's campaign yet. I would have given Empires a whole five stars, but there are a few things that I think that it can improve upon, thus only four stars. The civilizations are only available up to a certain point; if starting from the Medieval time and you chose England, by the time that you reach WWI you will have to choose a Modern civilization i.e. the UK. Another thing that I feel is a disappointment in this game is lack of options for the civilizations. Example being you can't choose the USA to start off during the Medieval time (for obivous reasons) but it would be nice if they had the colonies as an option instead of the USA only being available from WWI and on. Overall I recommend Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, despite it's few draw backs. I have certainly enjoy playing this game as a single player and as a multiplayer, playing against friends.

Summary: There are better RTS games.
Review: After playing Total Annihilation and The Core Contingency RTS games for years, I was hoping something better would have come along by now. An expansion pack might improve E:DOTMW. But this has all been done before in Age of Empires, Empire Earth, etc. And Total Annihilation does RTS gaming even better than those do.

Review: All I have to say is, this is the best game of its type. They done it right.,Because the framerate is excellent,especailly when looking at your recorded playbacks. Rise of nation is good except, when looking at the recorded playbacks, fast forward doesn't work that well, and the framerate drops dramatically, over a period of time

Review: Empires dawn of the modern world is the best. The graphics are amazing. Say if you choose Germany to use, you would be able to get the tanks, soldiers, and airplanes that they use. You can even see the signs on them that show you your Germany. You can pick from the strongest nations like Russia, Frane, U.K., U.S., Germany, Korea, and much more. You can only get five nations for each time period. But it's total fun. You can only get Medival through WWII. But still you should get this game because it's awesome.

Review: Empires is such a great game. I wasn't sure when I first heard about it, but I played the demo and really liked it, so I decided to get the game. Wow! There's so much in this game! This is by far the best real-time strategy game I've ever played. It was easy to learn, but has so much depth and is so fun that I'll be playing it for a long time. The single player campaigns (there are 3 of them) were a blast! Good stories and very well constructed with lots of ways to win. I've also enjoyed playing random map games against the computer. Trying to beat the next difficulty level is a whole game itself! (I'm pretty good at beating level 5 now, but there are 10 levels!) Plus, you can play people over the Internet. I highly recommend this game. If you liked Age of Empires and Age of Kings, this is like AOE 3, except all the civilizations are really different, with lots of cool units and special "classified projects", which are like special powers you get to use on your enemies. And you can play all the way to World War II!

Summary: A great historical RTS game
Review: Empires is the RTS game I've been waiting for. I loved games like Starcraft and Age of Empires, but the recent batch of games just hasn't done it for me. The different civilizations and different ages really gives the game a lot of depth. I'm really enjoying playing multiplayer online with my brothers and my friends. If you've been disappointed with other recent RTS games, look no further.

Summary: Wow, I'm not a huge RTS fan, but I loved it!
Review: First off, I'm not a great gamer, so I'm not in touch will all the great strategies, etc. I don't play too many games a year, but this is one I'll be sticking with for quite a while! For me to get attached to another RTS is amazing since I usually don't like RTS games much. I played Age of Kings some and liked it, but others I tried were just bleh.. This game made me so happy! A friend got it for me, and since I hadn't played RTS in a while, I was a little suprised. We played it mostly against the computer and I'm so addicted! Since every civ is 100% unique (all the powers, units, colors, sounds, even starting citizens) I feel like its a brand new game to explore every time I play. We love playing against the AI mostly, but when my friend is busy I played the scenarios. The scenarios impressed me a lot. I tend to like multiplayer with friends the most, but the stories and cinematics here are awesome! I could go on and on, but I need to finish typing this so I can finish the YI campaign! THIS IS A MUST BUY!!! ok ok, I'm a little excited about it... =)

Review: Horrible game, the graphics are weak, the game play is slow and the game does not measure up. Do not waste your money. I bought the game off the reviews I read here and I am so dissapointed. I am a heavy gamer and I by 2-3 games a month. By C & C generals & the Zero hour expansion. You will be much happier. Thumbs down for this game I should have bought the Lord of the rings game :(
