BUT THIS GAME WILL HELP YOUR BORDNESS LEAVE YOU RIGHT AWAY.IN THIS GAME THE GODS AND THE MONSTERS WILL FIGHT FOR YOU.BUT JUST BE CAREFUL OF WHICH GODS YOU PICK BECAUSE ALTHOUGH SOME MAY HELP YOUR OFFENSE YOU WILL HAVE A POOR DEFENSE.AND IF SOME HELP YOUR DEFENCE YOU WILL HAVE A POOR OFFENCE.BUT OF COURSE IF YOU HAVE THE CHEATS YOU CAN BUILD ANYTHING ANYWAY AS FAR AS HAVING THE WRIGHT SUPPLIES GOES.
AS YOU MORE-THAN-LIKALY KNOW SUPPLIES CAN BE A PAIN-IN-THE-... TO KEEP UP WITH BECAUSE IT TAKES MORE PEOPLE THAN YOU CAN COUNT IN ORDER TO GATHER A WEALTH SUPPLY OF WOOD,GOLD,STONE, ETC.BUT THATS WHERE THE GREAT CODES COME IN.
IF YOU ARE THE TYPE OF PERSON WHO IS INPACENT THEN YOU WILL WANT TO VIST WWW.CHEATPLANET.COM FOR CODES ON ANY GAME IMAGENABLE.ALTHOUGH THIS GAME IS FUN SOME PEOPLE WOULD SAY IT IS MORE FUN WITH THE CHEATS.

Review: This is a good game to get. You can do alot. The campain mode is fun but can be hard at times. You can even make your own map. One of the best parts is the online play. There is Quick setup (the games you play are rated.) And there are Advance setup (the games you play are not rated.) I think you should do the advance setup first to get up your skills then try quick setup when you think your ready. If you press the F4 key it will show you who may be doing better in the game. There are codes to this game but i'll not tell you in my review.
This is a fun game to have.

Summary: Excellent Game, missing a few features....
Review: Let me start off by saying that you WILL love this game. It has so much depth, and more diversity among the different cultures (9 of them) than any other RTS game. If you choose one god to worship, such as Zeus, you'll find playing as Poseidon or Loki to be much more different. In addition, the creation of myth units is just a fun add on that makes the whole entire game better. There's nothing more fun than being in the Mythic Age and watch three fire giants obliterate your enemy's Fortress. Best of all, however, is that this game is VERY accurate historically. It has it's own little encyclopedia in which you can find detailed information about EVERY unit that appears in the game, and there is also a historical description of that unit as well. It is very obvious that ES put a lot of work into this game.

The one downside however is the scenario editor. I would hold off until the X-Pack or the next patch to get this game if you're purely interested in creating scenarios/campaigns. This is because ES lacks one of the most important aspects of an editor, a unit editor, and it is likely that this will not be added until the X-Pack. The scenario editor also does not allow you to edit pitch and the zooming out is horrible.

If you're not into creating scenarios however, by all means get this game. There are so many different things that you can do the first time you play that you will not be able to make up your mind. Do I play as Set and create a massive defensive military of animals? Or should I be Loki and get free myth units just for destroying an enemy tower? Trust me, this game will keep you hooked for months.

Summary: Age of Mythology: Best of Genre
Review: Having played many of the other "RTS" games out there, I can vouch for the streamlined gameplay and look of Age of Mythology. Streamlined is the keyword since nothing new was added to the RTS genre with this game. Everything in this game has been done before in games like Age of Kings, Total Annihilation Kingdoms, and Warcraft. However, Age of Mythology brings all of the traditional RTS elements together brilliantly.

The graphics engine is superb with a crisp, elaborate, and stable 3D engine. The soundtrack merits its own cd (which I believe they do sell). I was quite surprised at the amazing soundtrack after reading a couple of reviews on this website heavily criticizing it. I disagree with those thoughts completely.

The only thing lacking in this game is something lacking in almost all RTS games. It is perhaps an unfair criticism which is why I gave them five stars. I do not consider current RTS games to have a true strategic element to them. You are much better at "RTS" games if you have the quickest hand eye coordination. Those able to click all of their military into the correct spot the quickest are the most competent players. You can have a real-time element without the click-fest.

Summary: Finally!
Review: Ever since I first bought Age of Kings and The Conquerers, I had wished it had incorporated religion and magic beyond the basic monk and conversion. I must say, this game does fill the bill, the entire culture of any of the three civilizations is based on religion. This game is great if you've played its precursors. However, I recommend starting with AOE Kings with Conquerers expansion. Why? Because the controls are based on AOE, and hard to understand if you haven't played it. I also wish that the format hadn't changed, now everything is smaller, and all the buildings look basically the same. As a bonus, however, each culture is completely different in technology and appearance. About 4.5 all considered. Good gaming!

Summary: A great game, though nothing special.
Review: This is a wonderful game. The graphics are top of the line, and the gameplay is creative, challenging, and intuitive. Microsoft really had a great idea by letting you change your tech by worshipping different gods! However, that said, I must mention that the game itself is not incredibly different from Age of Empires II. But, if you liked that game, AOM is worth close to full price.

Graphics: 5/5 Great 3D engine here.
Story: 4/5 Creative, but annoying if you know the myth.
Controls: 5/5 Easy to learn
Gameplay: 4/5 Too much like Age of Empires II
Tech Tree: 5/5 Good for gamers and historians alike.

Overall: 4/5 Great game, if lacking originality.

Summary: Evaluation of the Collector's Edition, not the game itself.
Review: Age of Mythology (AoM) was highly anticipated by many Age of Empires (AoE) fans. When it came out, it really did satisfy many AoE fans. Like its competitor, Warcarft 3, it released a Collector's Edition with the regular version.

The Collector's Edition Box:
The box of the collector's edition is nice. It sports some nice art and the color is great. It's really attractive. However, its durability is low. When compared to the Neverwinter Nights and Warcraft 3 Collector's Edition box, the durability totally loses. Both those boxes have a thick cardboard. The AoM box does not. Compare it to a Diablo Battle Chest box and there you have the AoM Box. However for art, it wins against WC3 Col. Ed.

The Extras:

Soundtrack- the AoM soundtrack is superior to Warcrafts in my opinion. But I am just comparing the cd's. Against the other collector's editons, Icewind Dale 2, Neverwinter Nights, Warcraft 3, AoM's soundtrack tops all the others. It gives catchy tunes that are not all 0:50 long. I believe there are about 20 tracks if i remember correctly, compared to Icewind Dale 2's 40.

Making of DVD- though not as long and as interactive as the Warcraft Making of DVD, it actually shows the developers talking and you get to see them working on the actual game. For Warcraft, all you saw were the cut scenes, and a commentary and trailers of other Blizzard games. You actually get to see people working in this one.

Lithographs- The collector's edition that offers this is Icewind Dale 2 and Warcraft. The art on all 3 were excellent, and i believe that the IWD2 and the AoM ones were laminated.

Action Figure- only AoM Offered this. However i was offended to see that the paint job was poorly done and the axe in the minotar's hand was bent for me. The plastic is only so-so quality. With the price, they should have included a lead-free pewter enlarged miniature, like those used in D&D play.

Movie-Sized Poster- kinda funny, cause no other collector's edition featured this. It is a huge poster that has the names of the developers, but the game and the developer's names are put kinda like how movies and their director's are named on it.

The thing i saw missing was an artbook. But that was just about all.. make sure you like the game, cause the extras provide a more rich experience, like all collector's editons.

Summary: One the best RTS games ever!
Review: I really liked this game from the start. The graphics are very good, the cutscenes are well done, and the sound effects are great. You have many different major gods you can choose from and several minor gods also. Each god gives you a different god power (though you can only use it once) and a different myth unit you can create for battle. The single player campaign has over 30 missions and you play against or team up with as many computer players you want in the random map play (This very tough but has a lot of good battles). Some of the cool myth units they have are Cyclops (which pick up other units and throw them to the ground), Medusa's (which turn most units to stone), and my personal fav, the Fire Giant (who throws flaming fireballs). Some of the god powers are a Tornado (which does the most damage of any of the god powers) and Meteor (which has very cool explosions that send units flying through the air). With all of the units and god's available, you can replay over and over on different maps, and you have internet capabilities which I haven't tried yet.
Microsoft also has just released a free campaign that has 4 missions that you can download from the Age of Mythology website. And coming later this fall will be an expansion pack that will add more fun to an already fun game.
