Summary: A Must Have!
Review: Even if you don't want to throw a party, this expansion pack is a must have. There are more objects and more skins. Now you'll find that the option to "talk" always pops up in your Sim interactions. When you command your Sims to spray roaches, it stays in queue with other commands even if it isn't the first in line. Changing clothes is quicker than ever. When you send them to a dresser, the game pauses and a window opens to give you the option to accept an outfit or see the next. This is a big improvement over your Sims spinning themselves to death until you find the outfit you want to keep.

There are only a couple of downsides to the game. There are now small swarms of flies floating about the house for no reason. There are no interactions available for them and even the maid doesn't get rid of them. Thankfully, they are very small. The only other downside is that when you do throw a party, the game slows down considerably. This is due to the fact that practically everyone in the neighborhood drops by at some time or another. The game moves so jerkily that your Sims are difficult to locate and control.

Still the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. House Party is a good addition and necessary for any serious Simmer.

Summary: Same Old, Same old...but I still love it!
Review: I'm not saying I don't like the Sims, in fact I love the new items. The problem is, now I have 60$ in old Sim games (The Sims and The Sims: Living Large expansion) that won't work on my PC. Normally I wouldn't care, but 100 new objects are a little weak. And there are litterally hundreds of fan websites out there were you can download new objects. Kind of a rip, don't you agree? Plus, as another reviewer stated, the point is the same. Wake up, eat, go to work, come home, eat, watch TV, shower, go to bed. Maybe a friend can come over once in a while, but that always makes my sims in a bad mood: They leave the place a mess, and, for some reason, the sims don't enjoy talking to friends. I know I do! And just when are we supposed to have time to pary? How can you even afford that 7,000 simolean stereo system if you don't have a job? Unless you use cheat codes, it's nearly impossible. And additionally, the game slows to an unworldly pace if there are too many guests over. On the bright side, however, I do love manipulating things (Just think of my poor dwarf hampster I own in REAL life!), so this game continues to hold my intrest. If by now, you can't make your own skins or objects for the game, then you'll probably loose intrest very quickly. Personally, I find making objects and skins more fun than the actual game! Also, the few new objects, skins and NPCs they did include I enjoyed very much: -An electronic, bucking bull to raise your sim's body score. -Seperate stereo speakers that you can place without buying another stereo system (you can turn them on/of) -NPC entertainers that come out of a big cake. Those are so funny! -A campfire: your sims can roast marshmallows, tell stories, sing songs or just talk -Boy/Girl bathroom doors: girls can only use a toilet in the girl's room, boy's only in the boy's room. -The buffet and punch tables are great for when you have a ton of guests. -A NPC caterer you can hire for a day; he'll clean dirty plates and keep your punch and buffet tables full. -A dancing floor that lights up depending on the type of music. -A celebrity guest: It's Drew Cary, I've had him over before. It's really funny becuase everyone comes running out to meet him. -New music types like Techno, Rap and Country. -A pay phone--theres a new option: Throw a party. It invites 3 or 4 people over at at time, without you knowing. -Two words: Inflatable Chairs -A phone pluggin. It was available on... before they put it in House Party. It's an option to invite or just talk to the person you're calling. Other than the new objects and skins, there's really nothing new. I got this expansion early on and was pertially dissapointed. I should have saved the $$ for SimsVille or The Sims Online, coming out early next year. Summary: This game was great. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if I could.

Summary: Not my favorite
Review: Out of all of the Sims games this is definitely not my favorite. I personally liked the Sims Livin' Large Expansion Pack better than this. I didn't feel that this game gave as much new stuff as the others, and throwing the parties is kind of boring. I do still recommend this game to anyone who has liked the last two Sim games.

Summary: Pretty Good...
Review: I just expected more. The whole concept is the same, of course. Sleep, eat, ... eat, sleep, tv, ... shower, etc. There are more items and clothes blah blah but I just expected more. You can invite the neighborhood over for a party and that's about it. You're still limited as far as the social thing. It's good though. Adds a little more excitement to the game. You'll know you threw a great party if Drew shows up hehehe. Buy it if you want but don't expect anything too great. I can't wait for Simsville...

Summary: Addictive
Review: If you love the social aspect of "The Sims," you need this expansion pack. I love the additional party items. Its also nice that you can start a party with just one phone call and that you can hire a caterer to help with the food management aspect of partying. The addition of smaller more compact tables and theme items make this all the more a hit. This just makes "The Sims" that much more of an addictive drug.

Summary: Best Game Ever!!!
Review: I have owned a version of The Sims since 2000. I got Livin' Large and now own House Party. This is the best expansion pack for any game ever. Expansion packs add new things to old games, they don't change the old games game play, so 11-year old from Sacramento, California, you don't give one a bad review because of that. First it adds new jobs, objects, and non-charactor entites. A Mimi type character will enter bad parties, and the phone has a call everyone option to make parties fast. A campfire is in it that is cool. Also a costume bucket so you can dress up well for parties. And a dance cage to make things fun. A cake with an exotic dancer also has the game a good one. I give this game a 5+ rating. Benkiosoto Phon Out!

Summary: Party on!
Review: For anyone already addicted to The Sims, this add-on is a must-have, if only for the high hilarity of the male and female dancers who leap out of a cake, boogie down for your guests and then proceed to flirt with everyone in sight. Or the caterer and the mime (if your party is dull, the mime shows up, a sure sign that your Sims have no life) who get into it over the buffet table. Or the sheer joy of watching Joe and Judy Mundane line dancing while a bunch of Parrot-heads relax around the pool. There really is something for everyone here, and it's the best way yet to increase the social and fun points of your Sims.

Those of you who collect new objects will find a lot of wonderful new items including a dance cage, a DJ booth, and a whole lot of tacky Tiki items for the total tropical experience. Build your little grass shack. Start a ranch on the north forty. Or just make Joe and Judy Mundane's life a whole lot more interesting with a bamboo shower and hay bale dining chairs.

And if you're not a Sims addict...what are you waiting for? C'mon and party down with the Sims, people. Party down...excellent...
