Summary: Great intentions but not quite...
Review: As far as gaming goes this a really great game.

I like the way one can manipulate the variety of views and create screen shots. The graphics are greats and the game play is smooth.

What I do not like is that it is modeled after Star Fleet Battles (SFB). I've played SFB in my teenage years and found it tediously boring, and not qutie in sync with real Star Trek theme. For example there is no Lyran Commonwealth in the paramount's Star Trek which is based on all the movies and the shows. There should be consistency in the industry and the story line.

This game would have been better if modeled after FASA's game "Star Trek, the Starship combat simulator" created back in the mid 80's, but now out print, because paramount shut down FASA's contract. Apparently FASA was getting a bit to creative, which I see as a double standard when you look the non existing Lyran commonwealth. The only thing FASA did was create additional ship classes for the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans and that was it.

I sorry but Star Trek vessels do not carry missiles, topeados Yes, missiles No! The game should have been named something different and have not been associated with Star Trek.

Summary: Does NOT work in Win XP
Review: As I'm unable to "fully" review this game, let me just say, the game is not compatible with WIN XP. If you are lucky (or foolish) enough to still be running Win 98, then you may be able to get the game to load.

Summary: One of the best Trek games yet!
Review: Based on the Starfleet Command RPG, this game puts your imagination to rest. Starfleet Command combines this RPG with Interplay's genius with their Star Trek games. To the novice to any Star Trek game, they will have difficultly, but they will manage and create their own form of combat. Controling more than one ship is difficult, but in the Star Trek Universe, everyone does not do the same thing. These AL's think for themselves and pick their own target and attempt to destroy it. Granted, they are not as cunning and stragecially inclined as you may be, but they do get the job done with only a few minor scratches. To the experienced player, this is just a "normal" day in the Fleet. Unfortunately, to experience the full power and command that this game has to offer, you will need the patch that is offered for this game. There are added missions and the SFC: Special Taskforce missions become more difficult by 10-fold! If you are a true Trekkie, then this is a game worth the money.

Summary: Make it so!
Review: Did you ever want to buy a Star Trek game that offered excellent tutorial functions, a realistic on-screen display and 3D rendering gameplay that allowed you sit in captain's chair? Well, it's here so you better click Buy Now! because this is the game you've been waiting for. Play one of 5 races: Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Gorn, Lyran, or Hydran. All races have their own unique ships and game play which looks pretty close to what you see on the box...which is very unusual for any pc games. The opening movies are the best I've seen compared to games of its time and the bugs that are in this game are minimal. (Having a decent video card is a must - 4 mb video ram is minimal but I say at least 16 mb). This game will run on an old Pentium computer that has a good video card. It allows you to adjust options and tweak it a bit to fit your machine. It has a number of options, ships, crew selection, missions, and so forth that you choose from. I have been playing this game for a year and it is most fun I have had with any real time strategy game. This game gets my highest regard so it is highly recommended - you will not be disappointed!!!

Summary: Nice game. For SFB fans, not enough like the board game.
Review: First, let me sya that I like this game. It is fine 3D space combat sim. What disappointed me, however, is that it was marketed as a computer version of the ever popular "Star Fleet Battled" board game. What dis appointed me was that I was misled: it is a fine game but it is not a computer version of SFB and does not mirror the "beer and pretzels" feel that makes Star Fleet Battles so much fun.

This is basically a well done real-time space combat simulation with the words "Star Trek" in the title. I was expecting a straight "computerization" of Star Fleet Battles. This is what I was led to believe by reading the reviews in the computer games magazines. This kind of conversion has been done successfully before (try a copy of Hasbro Interactive's "Axis and Allies").

I don't really need the memory and processor intensive 3D views and first person perspective. A 2D, top-down view of the game, with a hex grid map, would have been fine. And the "OK, we all move one space, then we all move another space, then we all move another space, etcetera" movement scheme in Star Fleet Battles was great and I was expecting a computer version of that. The real-time movement is fine, but it doesn't really simulate the feel of the board game.

Bottom Line: If you like good 3D space combat simulations, give this game a try. If you wan't the computer version of Star Fleet Battles, you will have to wait some more!

Summary: I liked it
Review: For me it works fine, i was expecting something else but it delivers. However i do have to agree on three defects on it, The Torps only hit once every 10 shots, The graphics are sometimes poor, for example you can see the deflector from the top of the saucer of a Federation ship. And the lack of Warp capability. We need warp, what's a ST sim without warp ? But the game has it's good points, the music is nice, the sounds are awesome the interface is kinda cool and the 3d effects are nice. I would recommend to try it before you buy it.

Summary: Welcome to the bridge, captain!
Review: I have tried a lot of games, and this one is one of the best! It takes you onto the bridge of your favorite deep space vessels, like the Miranda-Class USS Reliant, The Constitution-Class USS Enterprise A, and the Excelsior-Class USS Enterprise B. It lets you take command of up to 3 ships at a time, as an officer from any one of 6 different races, where you are in complete control. This is definately one of my absolute favorites!
