Summary: must d/l patch, afterward it is GREAT!!
Review: In reference to the review below that talks about the technical issues, I had the same problem. All I did was email the tech support team about it and they pointed me to a patch for the game that I needed to download. VOILA! It worked like a charm after that.

This game is amazingly simple and amazingly complex all at the same time. I became addicted before I ever played it just by watching one of my friends play it for several hours one weekend. It has some great strategy, funny/cute sounds and voices, lots of customizable features (including custom voices), and to top it all off you get to blow things up!! Great game.

Summary: Pure dissapointment
Review: In short, Worms World Party is not worth the money. I'm a big fan of worms, in fact, Worms Armageddon is the only video game I play. Just got ahold of WWP this morning and was sorely dissapointed. New missions and training, a few new multiplayer options, but nothing else that means anything. Oh, the interface is annoying now, too. Ugly bright colors. So here's the deal: if you want to run Win2k then you want WWP. Otherwise save the cash and buy/keep playing Worms Armageddon. Go buy your significant other some nice flowers with the money you save and tell her that you've decided to spend more time with her, rather than buy a new video game to lock yourself in the computer room with :)

Review: Many of you reviewers have obviously had trouble installing your game but my copy just had no trouble at all! I inserted the disk, it began to spin and that screen came up, i selected install and went thorough all that stuff yes put a shortcut blah blah blah and the game was fine! It ran just as good as any other game i have! But about the actual game, it is incredible. You can crete computer controlled teams such as mine which i named Punching Bags and wage wars against them with your own made teams. Overall its a great game for PC but dont buy i on GBA. Not that its bad on GBA but i still need to get my own copy!
Hahahahahaha.

Summary: Worms World Party
Review: Parents may be wondering whether to buy WWP for their kids. As for violence, this game could easily be turned into a cartoon because that's what the graphics and content look like. There is a blood mode, but it is "off" in the default mode. The Worms' language has some occasional "damns," but mostly you'll hear: "you'll regret that" and "take that."

In Worms you lead a platoon of up to eight worms into battle, online or on one computer. Turn by turn, the worms try to blast each other with almost 60 weapons, such as Uzi machine guns and the "god" of Worms, the Concrete Donkey.

Worms veterans may wonder what is new in this fourth game in the Worms series. Team17 left out the "Tournament Mode" for the PC and the "Worms World Map" that they promised in a preview of the game on their web site. Plus, there are no new weapons, although Team17 didn't promise those. That is why I give the game only three stars.

Here are the new features. Single Player Missions: 45 new missions in WWP most of which are puzzle style with only one worm. Training & Time Attack Modes: 19 new training missions and 16 new time attacks. Wormpot: A new mode in which you can select three game modifications at once such as "shot-does-not-end-turn" and "specialist-worm-mode." These Wormpot modifications can be played online or hotseat. Multi-Player Missions: 20 new missions playable online or hotseat, but these are basically enhancements of the single player missions.

Online play is accessible from Wormnet assuming that it is working. I have found the Wormnet service to be unreliable. Also, ranks have been taken out.

Summary: surpirzed and disappointed
Review: Team17's Worms series has been a wonderful part of my day ever since I came across the original Worms back in 1995. With Worms2, I was pleasently surprized with the update in graphics, sound, and overall fun. Then came Worms: Armaggeddon. W:A was another great sequel in a world where sequels often leave us wanting more. With WWP, however, it seems that Team17 has dropped the ball. The real upgrade to WWP (which I directly imported from the Team17 shop) is multiplayer modules. Otherwise it seems that W:A has stretched the game engine to it's limits. In fact, some features that W:A boasted are completely left out of WWP. For the new Worms player, pick up a copy of W:A (you will find yourself searching for the original, which may not be as technically impressive, but still worth the price), and enjoy the single player games as well as the online support. Most of the modules added to WWP are already available (through player modifications) over the internet, and were well established parts of W:A long before WWP was even on the drawing board.

A personal note to Team17: That's two games in the dump recently. You really boinked StuntGP, and now a pointless follow up to an exellent series. If this is the best you can do, I suggest leaving the pink fleshy world behind and drafting us another hit outside the Wormy World.

After a brief experience on NBC's Weakest Link, the other Worms games have spoken, and to you WWP, You are the Weakest Link, Goodbye.

Summary: Fun, but Flawed
Review: The Worms series of games has a dedicated following,
and for good reason. It's just darn cute, clever and
very fun to play, particularly over LAN with other
Worm fans.

Warning!
The US release has a very serious problem that stops
the game from even loading. That can be very dissapointing
after waiting a week for the game, tearing of the
shrink wrap, installing and then, CRASH! "Illegal Operation".
Fortunately, there is a patch available from the developer's
Web Page that fixes the problem. Still, this sort of thing
should never happen. My experiance with these sorts of situations
is that a couple of years from now I'll go to reinstall the game
and the patch will no longer be available on the shifting
sands of the Internet. So if you buy Worms World Party in the
US, download the patch and burn it onto a CD for safe keeping.
