Summary: Fun!......at first
Review: The idea of taking your sims on a vacation sounded like a whole lot a fun, and it was....at first. When you take them on vacation it is fun, but when you get back to the neighborhood it is just the same as it always was. The vacation has some fun things to do, but they get boring really fast. In the end I would say that this game is not great.

Summary: Somewhat disappointing
Review: The idea of taking you sims on the vacation intruiged me and if you are looking at this product the idea probably intrigues you.... WHY SHOULDN'T YOU GET THIS GAME?**

-Limited amount of new items

-Very slow if you do not have a fast computer--2000 and up would probably be suitable

-Vacation is extremely similar to Hot Date. In fact, the only difference being that in Vacation you can spend the night away from your home. It is almost like being able to spend the night downtown--that is like the only added feature--excect the 'vacation' environment is different than Hot Date's--but not by much..

**Why Should You Get this Game?***

-Good Question... You can now spend the night away from home

-They added several new activities--such as volleyball, and snowboarding, although these activities you can only do on "vacation"

So is this game worth its money. It depends. In my opinion, I don't think so.... So from this point on, the decision is up to you! Glad I could help.

Summary: its OK
Review: The Sims Vacation is overall a pretty good game. I should know, im a Sims freak. The game keeps you exited for a few months before you start cravingfor the next Sims expansion pack. Something that i really disliked about the game was that it took so long to auctually get to the desired location. But if you are really a Sims fan, you can overcome this.

Summary: Not much bang for your buck
Review: I'm a Sims addict. I bought House Party, Livin Large, Hot Date, and then Vacation. I was very disappointed with it. I expected more from Maxis. This so far, has been the worst expansion pack. I went on vacation twice and then no longer cared for it. I did like the bear rug and some of the add ons, but it wasnt worth the $$$ I paid for it. (To their credit, Unleashed, is more of what we expect from Maxis. Kudos!)

Summary: Fun but not essential for the Sims gamer
Review: This shining little bauble of an expansion pack rather quickly loses its luster. The idea of sending your sims on vacation is a great one, and some of the new activities (e.g., building snowmen, having snowball fights, snowboarding on the half pipe) are fun-at first, but the whole thing gets a little boring after a while. What really ruins the game play is the fact that your invited guests have no idea of how to have a good time, and you have no control over them at all. As others have said, they don't even have sense enough to make use of restrooms and shower stalls. Basically, in such a scenario, your sim is left wandering around trying to find anyone who will do anything with him/her. Playing volleyball by yourself is not my idea of an ideal vacation. Much of the time, your chosen vacation spot is all but deserted, leaving you high and dry indeed. A family vacation is much more enjoyable because you at least have some control over all of the vacationing sims' activities and interactions. Even then, though, the fun is limited and the experience rather monotonous.

This expansion pack is certainly worth buying if you are a Sims addict, but I wouldn't call it an essential component of the Sims experience. It also does slow the game down, although I don't see too much difference between Vacation and Hot Date in this regard. You and your sims can definitely have a little fun on vacation, but I doubt you will be anxious to rush off every weekend to get away from it all.

Summary: FUN...NOT!
Review: Alright, I am going to tell you the truth. I think that this expansion game stinks. Number one reason. OMG! Do u know how much it slowed down my computer? it takes me like 20 minutes just to get to the normal neighborhood now and it takes like another 20 to get to Vacation Island. And when you finally get there, it is as boring as...well...its just boring. and ya kno what? ur sims get bored too. I mean, yeh, i guess its okay. its not HORRIBLE. it just isnt very fun. i dont really use it and it seems to me like a waste of money. it is up to u, but if i were u, i would chose a different expansion pack. like hot date or animal one. they seem to offer more than this one does. everybody seems to be giving it a lot of credit. i for one dont give it very much at all. well, good luck if you buy it and i hope it doesnt slow down ur computer.

Summary: almost as good as the others
Review: This expansion pack for the Sims is good in the sense that it provides another thing for your Sims to do, go on vacation. The vacationing is not that cool, though, because your Sims get bored of the activities very quickly and it is not as easy to keep them happy as it is in your own house for your sims. There are many things to do, though, and it will take you days of playing to experience them all. With some cool new ideas like buying prizes with tickets, this expansion pack is good, but still not as good as hot date or livin large. At least it is not rediculous like the newest expansion where you get pets. (wow)

Summary: Good Buy
Review: I really enjoyed The Sims Vacation. There are ten vacation spots you can visit, but you can bulldoze them, too. I definetly suggest this game!
