Review: This game is pretty good. Its cool to make your sims a resort and have the family go on vacation, but its not fair that you cant have just the parents go on the vacation, EVERYONE in the family has to go on the vacation. Its a great game but thats the only thing im concerened about. I have all the expansion packs (except house party cause i played and found it boring to hang a round and no one comes to the party) and i thought sims vacation was one of the best. I think you should get this game.

Summary: The best sims expansion yet! Endless possibities for fun!
Review: I own all of the "Sims" expansion packs, and while I have enjoyed all three expansion packs, this is by far the best. The new ?vacation island? adds endless possibilities for fun, and the new interactions for the children are charming. From snowmen, snowboarding, archery, fishing, and water balloon fights, The Sims Vacation allows you to take your sim?s lives to the next level. The new objects have amusing interactions such as a bear rug where you can toast some champagne and a tent you can ?play? in. The children in the game finally get equal treatment with tons of new social interactions and the choice of pjs, swimsuits and winter gear to buy on vacation. Parents and children have more to do together, and the results are heartwarming. While ?going downtown? can sometimes be stressful and a race against declining motives, vacation lots are stress-free with everything you could possibly need to rest, eat and have a great time. If you are getting tired of doing the same old thing with your Sims, buy this expansion pack and become addicted to the game all over again!

Summary: It's Ok, but the rest are better
Review: Lets get one thing straight, Vacation is a great expansion pack, alone, but it's just more of the same. First, Maxis came out with Livin Large, which was a good thing, because people wanted more. Next was House Party, and then came Hot Date, which is by far the best.They should have ended the ep's with Hot Date. Vacation is just more of Hot Date, but with a family theme. Now that's great if most of your familys are including children, but there's still a limit to this. Your family gets in a mini-van, they drive to vacation island. Vacation Island has three themes to it: Winter Lodge, Woodland, and Beach. There are good objects like the vollyball net, but most of them are a waste. Vacation gives you five carnival games, which make you extremely bored watching it the second or third time around, making you not want to use them. The half pipe is the same way. It just gets so boring after the first time. You have the option to take a friend from a different house with you, but I wouldn't suggest it. They want to take a shower, but they don't have the brains to take one themselves, they just follow you wherever you go. Vacation is good, with its limitations, but if you are contemplating wether to get Hot Date or this, get Hot Date. Lets just hope that Maxis' next expansion, which we know they'll make, will be a little more diverse.

Summary: Good...but not as good as the rest
Review: I am a die-hard Sims fan, I've wasted I-don't-know-how-many hours on these games, and I have all of the expansions. Vacation is interesting, but as others have noted, there's just not enough NEW stuff in it to really justify the price I paid. The new objects that are there are interesting, I like the half-pipe and the snow slide, but somehow I expected more. Downtown and Vacation areas are so similar, only difference is if the whole family comes along or not. (Especially if you download some of the hacked objects, which I highly recommend...lots of free additions to your game, can't beat THAT price!) I would have given this more stars if it sold for about half the price. Overall...if you're still enthralled by The Sims you'll probably love Vacation. But if you were starting to get bored with Hot Date you won't be missing much if you skip Vacation.

Summary: Sims expansion pack
Review: The Sims: Vacation is about, well, sending your Sims on vacation. You can send them to a snow-capped mountain, "rough it" out in the woods, or go to a beach hotel & boardwalk. Youcan also bulldoze and construct Vacation lots, just like the Downtown lots in the Hot Date expansion. However, unlike Hot Date, your vacation will have consequencesces, whether they be major or what. For instance, your relationship points with another Sim will drop if you don't send them a postcard. If your family is in a good mood and you play lots of lot games, you can win souvenirs which you can display (and brag about) when you return home.

Summary: Whats the Difference
Review: I won't be drastic and say that I am dissapointed, but what is the major difference. Okay, so the sims can go on vacation but it doesn't matter anyway because there is actually nothing to do on the resorts. Maxis should have made an expansion pack about careers or something else rather than taking your sims on vacation. I still enjoy the game because of the new interactions between children and adults, I just don't use the cab to go on vacation that much cause I 'm still trying to master the game. Overall, I would recommend this expansion pack but I hope a more interseting one comes out next time.

Summary: Fun, fun, fun!!
Review: If you like the Downtown area of Hot Date, you'll love vacation. Take your Sims (friends and family) to vacation island where you can play carnival games, fish, go on picnics, search for treasure, soak in a whirlpool and more! The only thing I wish is that there were more new things to do and more new furniture pieces per expansion pack.

Summary: Good game.
Review: I just got the game last night and have played it for about 4 hours. I sent my family to a hotel in the beach. It costs 500 simoleons to get the cab and around 200 to go in the hotel. Just a waring: It doesn't cost a lot of money to go on holiday. For one day in the best hotel in the beach I only spent 300 when before in my house I had saved 2,000 to go on holiday. You don't need too much money unless you spend a lot on items. you can build your own resort but you need to destory one before. I think that the game should have had another island just so you can create your own hotels and resorts. There are rather good 125 new items. There are tents, reception desks, shops, items etc. It is a good expansion and I recommend that you buy it but it is not the best Sims game existant. I am looking forward for the Sims Online which should be a hit.

Summary: Well, Okay I guess...
Review: Yeah, I like this expansion pack, even though I don't believe it lives up to its predecessors. Less items than I had hoped for but you do get a new world. For those not so well aquainted with Sims, you may want to try the other expansion packs first. To tell you the truth, when I play with vacation it doesn't seem to effect my regular game plan, therefore not really that good of an addition. You can see for your self, but if you already own all of the other expantion packs, consider instead buying a CD player.
