Summary: Sub-Par for the insane hype
Review: I feel like anyone giving this game 5 stars has been paid off by Blizzard, lackies, all of you! This is a step down from the wonderful platform that Blizzard created. The limited food supply gives you the smallest army you can imagine. The hero units are the most worthless thing they could've added. The game puts too much basis on this single unit, when you should really be worrying about your army. Why did Blizzard have to have Diablo on their minds when they made this? why couldnt they just let them be two sepearte games. Don't worry, when CnC Generals hits the shelves, WCIII is going to be in the discount bin...in no time ; )

Summary: Could've been the next Best RTS game.
Review: Overall, Warcraft III is a decent game to play, but it did not live up to its former glory (Warcraft I & Warcraft II). Instead of staying true to the series by remaining a full RTS game, it was changed into half RTS and half RPG. Well, this could've been great, if Blizzard were to really work hard on combining the elements.

But first, let me tell you what I liked and then what I didn't like. Its only fair.

Liked:

The four races: The Orcs, humans, undead, and the night elves. Each is unique in its own way. Each race is well balanced against the other three. They each look, fight, sound, and play different.

Each has its own campaign wich tie in together perfectly. And each race has three heroes with different skills. your heroes may also gain experience, and wear artifacts.

The cutscene cinematics are the best. Thats one thing Blizzard does well.

The 3D graphics are really gorgeous. Theres lot of detail. You can zoom in and zoom out. I love the water waves splashing against the shore. And the ingame cinematics are where the graphics also look great.

There is a day night cycle in the game as well.

You may also see tons of Neutral units.

Some of the voices are classic Warcraft II voices and the new ones are similar to those from Warcraft II. Music is outstanding, kinda like medievial fantasy style.

Oh and you do get a map editor with the game.

Well, now here's what dissapointed me about the game.

The RTS and RPG elements in the game were very limited. Number of units are kept in limited numbers by the use of the upkeep cost. You can not form large group, but instead are allowed a limited number of about 12 in a group. and with the upkeep cost you can really have only 2 groups of figthers. All the water units from the previous series are gone. thats right no submarines, no juggernauts, and no elven destroyer ships.

Concerning the RPG elements in the game....

You can only have three different heroes from each race. Each can only have three skills up to level 3. Adnt he heroes themselves go only up to level 9 or 10, I don't remember. In terms of RPG, there is no decision making in what quests you choose or do.

While Blizzard had a good idea in merging the RPG and RTS elements together, they did not expand upon it, but instead limited those features.

For me, game replayiblity was very low. I found myself going back to playing Diablo II.

Summary: The Difference
Review: I would just like to tell you i HATE Warcraft II. I played it for about 10 min and got bored. I love the other blizzard games Starcraft and Diablo. Well at my local cybernation i decided to play Warcraft III. I was so impressed with the gamei played it for 3 hours there. I went home and then stait to Best Buy and bought the game. The game has such good graphics and i liek how you can zoom in. There are different races but they are not that different. Also, you can have a hero that levels up.

Summary: AWESOME GAME
Review: This is one of the best games ever made. It has an exellent story line, awesome gameplay, and awesome online multiplayer. There are many online maps like GLADIATORS, Grand Theft Auto, Starship Troopers, and hundreds more. This is a must have for anyone how enjoys quality games and owns a computer.

Summary: For Shame Blizzard!
Review: Bottom line: wait until this dud gets to the bargain bin -- don't [buy it] because it is BORING!

I love StarCraft, and enjoyed WarCraft II because they emphasize GAME PLAY. WarCraft III emphasizes appearance over playability, scripted hollywood-style bombast over decision-making.

Check out the dozens of negative reviews at the end of the Amazon.comreview list -- they all describe the following shortcomings:
• cartoonish graphics
• inexcusably sluggish performance on all but the highest-end systems (check it out: one update per second on my 550 Mhz G4)
• the lack of anything meaningful to do during battles (units are a mishmash of flickering graphics, you're lucky to be able to heal a few before they croak)
• the limitation of about 25 player-controlled units (must have been a performance issue)
• the tedium of the campaign -- it's all scripted out for you
• the generic quality of the 4 "races" -- different names & appearences, identical functionality.
• the dullness of online battle; "build 'em and rush your enemy!"

To be fair, some of my disappointment may have been caused by the poor quality of the Macintosh port -- I imagine it will run with more vigor on a medium-level Windows machine (it takes almost 30 seconds to load each new level on the Mac!)

In addition, the story line (though it is linear and without any choices) is interesting. The voices are often cool and so forth.

Summary: Warcraft 3 is the best game I ever played.
Review: This game is really great! I have played many strategy games where you control armies and battle eachother, but this is by far the greatest! The best thing about this game is the battle net. You go online and have huge wars with other people. I like when there are wars of like 100 guys just duken it out! There are four races; the orc's, night elfs, undead, and the humans. Each race has it's own up's and down's like the orc's build the fastest but are horrible at air attacks. This game is not about rushing in and killing everyone, it is more tactics. I can gaurentee if you rush into someone elses base your going to get crushed, real bad! For all of you who have the old games and think that warcraft...., your wrong. This game is a MUST BUY!

Summary: Blizzard's greatest work!
Review: This has been the best strategy game i have ever played. Very creative, 4 completely different races, an incredible gameplay and it's a little bit long so you can stick with it for a long time.
And the free online play is like playing another completely different game. I have played this game at least 7 hours a week during the past 5 months and a half and it is still my favorite game (i play online). Also by playing online you can play other mini games that other players have created or improved such as the sheep tag; in which you have to build farms to get away from the shepards or the tower defense where you have to build many different towers to defend a city or other things. And many other more! It makes the game EVEN better than it is.
The storyline is very good and you can use some units called the heroes that are like playing the characters of Diablo. The only thing I think it could've been improved are the graphics; they aren't very good. Another thing is that it may be too heavy for a some computers, so make sure you carfuly read the requierements.

Summary: A six stars game
Review: Warcraft I was great, Warcraft II/Starcraft were better but Warcraft III is a real breakthrough in computer games industry.

1)Great graphics and an interesting story written as you play.

2)Superior artificial intelligence. Your enemies can organise their attacks, know how to use each unit and when they realise that cannot win in that instance they can either retreat or cause you some damage to make matters easier for the next wave.

3)Enormous creativity with 4 unique races, 3 heroes per race and 4 special abilities per hero all of them important and with very few similarities. This picture is further enchanced with many neutral units, neutral buildings and magic items. The creativity of the developers is also evident in the campaign: You have a large variety of tasks like Explore, destroy your enemies, do something before time runs out, hold against vast armies and survive for 30-45mins etc.

4)Better strategy is now required by the player because there is a limit in the number of units he may have. So he should rather organise his troops than building vast armies. In some cases the player has to cooperate with his computer ally.

5)Impressive psychological impact during the campaign. A video before makes clear how important is to achieve the task and so a video afterwards. Sometimes the game is interrupted by a video. you can press ESC and continue but you prefer to watch. At last the future of this world is in your hands. The same with some dialogs during the game as "The barriers between the worlds are weakening. Creatures from hell have came to our aid".

6)Campaign some day will finish but there are many other maps where you can build your army and face 1-11 enemies. You can arrange the teams as you wish. Heroes acquire experience (that means and power) while you kill enemies. Consequently there is a drawback if you stay in your camp and let the others to kill each other: At the end (or sooner) you will face a powerful enemy who will destroy you.

As overall picture I can say that the developers have examined every detail and succeeded to create the miracle. One may consider some of their ideas as bad but the certain thing is that they have examined EVERYTHING.

Summary: The best game out ther
Review: this is by far the best game ive played in years. it has rocksolid gameplay, great music and sound effects, awesome graphics and is perfect in just about every other category. One of the great things about this game is that it can be beat on single plyaer using strategy, but not too much. however, when you get to multiplayer, every move and attack must be carefully planned. you cant just go around beating up on other players, you have to really think. because this game has a food limit of 90 (each unit takes up a certain amount) this limits how many units you can train and makes you focus more on strategy than aseembling the biggest army you can in the shortest amount of time. Also, this game has the best level editor ive even heard of, let alone seen. You can make and entire game and do every single thing that blizzard did in designing this game. Every single thing. Basically, this is one of the best games you will ever see I would have paid a hundred dollars for it. If you have any questions regarding the game please feel free to email me at...
