Summary: Best... Expansion... Ever...
Review: If you enjoyed War Craft III at all, then you simply must get this expansion! But be forewarned parents, this is an expansion! You must have War Craft III to be able to run this game! I don't recomend pre ordering it though. It's not like it's a Zelda game or anything. ...

Summary: The Best Yet!
Review: Short and sweet. WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos is by far the best installment in the entire WarCraft series. The storyline is very immersive, and keeps the player embraced from start to finish, so one shouldn't find themsevles in a state of boredom very often. The graphics, character models, and spells are all very distinctive. The characters are modeled very descriptive and they move extremely beautifully, adding an even more intriguing feel to the already elastic, but enticing feel to the game. Reign of Chaos' only main flaw lies in it's difficulty level. The game is extremely tough and challenging, leaving the player thinking for moments of what right attack, character/monster, and spell to use in certain times of vital need. However, if one can look past the ROC's large difficulty level, the player will find themselves in enjoyable gameplay for weeks, if not possibly months! WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos is not only best in the series, but it may possibly be the best strategy/rpg on the pc! Pick up this great game. Also be sure to buy the WarCraft III expansion "The Frozen Throne."

Summary: Excellent Campaign
Review: I'm just going to start off by saying that the Campaign is probably the most satisfying ones I have played in an RPG/RTS game. The story line is great, the cinematics are beautiful, and how they link the different races together just makes the game even better. The campaign is very suspensful too, with several surprises in store.

The solo play is where the game gets marked down. The computer AI is very stubborn. It will almost never attack on certain maps, and on some, where the path is blocked by trees, it doesn't quite realize that it should create a path with a siege weapon. Even if you do that for them, the computer still will not attack. It doesn't go around attacking creeps to get a higher level for their heros, so what you get in the end is a boring solo play where you sweep in, wipe out your enemy, your ally does nothing, you win the game.

Of course, the game makes up for this in multiplayer play. The servers will find you a match in less than a minute in most cases, even if you are asking to play a 3v3 game. The ranking system is great, and I have only experienced one problem while playing online, which was due to another player's poor connection.

Overall, I really do believe that you'll enjoy the game. The multi-level heros makes it an exciting RPG, and the RTS elements are greatly appreciated. If you don't have an internet connection, the campaign may be a good reason to buy, but you'll get the most out of this game if you have an internet connection to play online.

Review: OK... THIS GAME IS GREAT! I bought it when it first came out, and i still love it (and I'm still addicted to it) Anyway, the gameplay is great. I don't know how they r gonna make it better in the expansion pack Warcraft III:The Frozen Throne. THe sound quality is awsome. the on-line play is great. replayability:great The ONLY reason i can think of of y people don't like this games is cause they are nit-picking for small errors. (Or they don't like real-time-strategy games) IF YOU LIKE RTSG's THIS ONE'S 4U

Summary: WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos ROCKS!!!!!!!
Review: WarCraft 3 is unquestionably among the best PC games I have every played in my entire life. From the moment you put the CD into your computer till the second you finish playing the entire game is like one giant rush of adrenaline. The plot is incredible, the graphics are great, and the gameplay is out of this world. I would recommend this game to any gamer who wants to play something new and incredible, but most of all, something that never gets boring. Blizzard, keep up the good work!

Summary: Too complex, too difficult to master, too frustrating.
Review: Yes, the graphics are good. Yes, the gameplay is smooth. Overall I like the concept. But unless you have 30 hours per week to devote to mastering this game, you will find it a tooth-grinding experience.

Unless you are a hard-core gamer, and have no other life whatsoever, I do not recommend this game. The time investment to payoff ratio is just too steep.

Summary: Best RTS, if not best computer game ever made
Review: I must say, I am surprised I didn¡¦t write this review alot sooner than I am now. Although a game of this magnitude does require some serious playing before you can judge it. Let me open by saying that this game has almost no flaws. Its incredible graphics system allows you to take different views of your units, and gives a more realistic feel to everything going on. Another great touch is something RTS games have lacked, Heroes who actually gain levels. This adds a whole new strategy to the game and makes you think more about how you will play, (depending on the skills your have your hero learn). The only frustrating thing, is that if there are two of the same type of hero, at level 10(highest lvl) they will be identical (aside from their items) leaving less room for long term decisions. As for the races, no game has ever seen the amazing balance and complexity of each race. For a little while you may favor one race (and may always), but i've found that after playing for hundreds of hours, the races are brilliantly balanced. In addition, the campaigns are well designed and have an engrossing storyline. This all may seem all fine at first, but the true re-playability of this game comes from online play on battle. Net. It uses a system of levels to match you up with players of appropriate skill for you, and you can chose between random team, from 4-8 players. 1 vs1, free-for-all. Or arranged team, where you choose your teammates and go up against another formed team. Out of everything and after playing for hours, you will realize,
This is truly a masterpiece in gaming

Summary: A Must have for RTS fans
Review: Without a doubt the most well designed game I have yet played. It is NOT a sequel to Starcraft, and it is NOT an AoE rip-off either. It is the most original RTS game out there, as it adds in a role playing flavor with the advent of Heroes, special characters each of the races have. Many people claim that the heroes are unbalanced because they are so much better than normal characters, but that is a stupid statement. They are very powerful, but everyone has 3 of them, and they balance each other, being the same costs/availability. They each have their roles, and the ways they interact with their allies and opponents is a large part of the game. All in all I think the game is a sophisticated chess match, and like chess takes many hours to master, so don't buy this game if you are short on time.
The game play is incredible for two reasons. The first is the Artificial Intelligence, which is amazing. Not so much as your computer opponents AI when you play the single player games, that AI is weak. But the AI that controls your troops in battle, responds to your commands, etc. is probably the best I have ever seen. The ability to put spells on auto-cast (and the effectiveness of the AI at deploying them) is amazing. The way troops react is so realistic it is unparalleled. You really spend most of your micro-management on the heroes (you usually have 2 at a time, which makes the game just micro-intensive enough to be hard, but not so much as too make it frustrating. It seems like other games have either little micro needed or too much, but this game finds a happy median.
The second thing that sets this game apart is the 4 races. Some people complain that other games have more. But in those other games, they are usually all too similar, they are just the same groups and have mostly the same stuff, but some of their stuff is stronger than other factions and some weaker (maybe their air attack is strong but their troops weak). This usually makes only one or two factions dominant, as one aspect tends to be overpowering. No such thing in WarCraft 3. Granted, each faction has similarities. But the differences are much greater, and so well balanced that you see each faction represented among top players almost equally. Any race can truly beat any race.
The graphics are sweet. Even on medium, which I have them on, they look excellent. The simple fact of RTS games is that graphics aren't that important anyway. True, you like to be able to distinguish your units, but for the most part it's kind of like chess, who cares what they look like; you only care what they do. But don't get me wrong, the graphics on this game are incredible, I've ran them with a GeForce4 TI 4200 128 mb on high everything it was very impressive. It just isn't a big deal to me in an RTS.

Summary: A truly great game
Review: Amazon.con sent me this classic in 4 days! I was amazed. Anyways, I played it for a few days, and then it crashed. Probably my fault, so I just ordered a new computer from them.

That aside, the game is well-done, altho a little demanding on your system. I met the minimum requirements (barely), but I would strongly suggest at least 256MB of memory (I had 128), and 64MB of graphics memory (I had 32). Processor speed is un-important (My 1.2GHz was plenty).

Having said that, this game is great for both Warcraft novices and old pros alike. I played Warcraft, Warcraft II, and now III. This one doesn't disappoint. Just remember to get DirectX 8.1 in there first (I did, but still got whacked by my 3 year old system).
