Rating: Summary: Great for newcomers... Review: If you have yet to catch onto the Sims, this is EXACTLY where you need to start. If you already own the Sims, don't buy this pack. The 50 or so things it contains that weren't in the original will be in the new Superstar expansion. Otherwise you really ought to pick up a copy of this.
Rating: Summary: pets Review: pets and people and clothes and cars and everything in the sims unleashed and i want to see alot of things about gardining and dont forget the pets ok and the clothes
Rating: Summary: All Good Things... Review: All good things must have a bigger, better, deluxe edition, so the people that first bought the item are left out. This happened to many DVDs, like the Lord of the Rings, and many other games, such as Age of Empires 2. For some reason I thought that Maxis would do it's patrons a good turn, if you will, and create a sequel, or come out with a new expansion pack. I wish I didn't have to be wrong.
Rating: Summary: In Reply to "Topsy Turvy's" Review Review: I have purchased and installed Sims Deluxe, and it does not get rid of old families or data. Everything is still as you left it, but now you have some cool new features to use.
Rating: Summary: Grand Idea Review: A lot of the reviewers are wrong and so lets clear a few things up. Number 1 is that you do not have to uninstall your original Sims game to install the Sims Deluxe Edition. You can add it right to what you already have, even if you own every expansion pack there is you just add it on, so it's easy. Second of all, someone said you had to lose your families and data. Not true at all. There are no downfalls that I can see to adding on this edition. Even if you already have Livin Large, adding this on will not harm your game. And for those people who have never had the Sims, it is a perfect time to get started as they get two for the price of one. I have already bought mine and added it to my game which included all the expansions and it is great, so I know what I am talking about. To me it is well worth the money as the Sims Creator is such a fun add on. Enjoy!!
Rating: Summary: Windows XP Review: A previous reviewer stated that the previous game and expansion packs would not work on Windows XP, that is not true, I have it and it works fine. If there's a problem it can be fixed by right clicking on the game icon, click the compatibility tab, and choose windows 98. That'll fix it.
Rating: Summary: I'll buy it! Review: Yes, it is a bit sad for some people that this newer version has come out when they've already purchased the original Sims. However, it will have some cool new stuff on it that well worth it to me to purchase. I can't wait to get it! And Maxis is offering a 10.00 rebate to those who've purchased the original game, which I think is pretty cool.
Rating: Summary: Topsy turvy Review: There's two sides, you either like it or don't. Im in the middle. I belive its a great idea, but you cant keep your current families and have to make new ones. They should make it so you can keep your old families and data, so its a topsy turvy idea.
Rating: Summary: Great for new players! Review: ... The added features only made me want it more along with the added expansion, that i would have normally had to buy otherwise ... The point is, that "I" feel cheated because i didnt buy this great game sooner... i missed out on two years of great gaming. Only now i have a few added prizes to lure me in. Anyways to anyone like me who has "wondered" about the sims for all this time. Go out and buy this version, and look for the sims online due out in october - november sometime.
Rating: Summary: A few comments in regard to the other reviews here... Review: Yes, this is an excellent game that is still going strong, and yes it kinda stinks that there are one or two new features that loyal followers won't have unless they essentially re-buy the game. But to be fair, a deluxe edition designed as such is the next logical step. To put it in perspective, there are already 4 expansions, with a fifth one about to be released. That means that a fresh new player who wants the entire game has to shell out about [$$$] for a [$$$] game and [$$$] each for the expansions (assuming they're completists, like me). To help new players get up to speed, the deluxe edition includes the first expansion. One or two minor exclusive features have also been added to this edition to add some incentive for people to buy it if they already own the game, particularly those who never actually bought the first expansion. Personally I think they should have bundled the first two expansions instead of just one, but that's just my opinion. Will I buy it? No, because I already have the game and all of the expansions available, and those one or two small new exclusive features aren't worth [$$$] to me. However, to people who haven't yet bought the game or the first expansion disc, this package will be worth your while.
