Rating: Summary: One of the Greatest games on Earth! Review: I've always been interested about the Egyptians. When I bought this game, it made my interest become a hobby. Because of this game I have bought several books on the Egyptians. Now about the game, it has great graphics. You can see the people in the city actually performing the daily activities. You learn to understand how the Egyptains lived. In the game, you must hold festivals to the gods. The gods bring good to the city, if you treat them well-if you don't you will get punished (ie:get crops destroyed, sicknesses, ect.) This game has action, city building, and lots more! You can't go wrong getting this game!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely a game worth becoming addicted too!! Review: With all of the involving components that make up Pharoah, you will be playing it endlessly. Or until you are finnaly able to toss it out the window in frustation, or perhaps actually beat it, like ME! The game doesn't have many glitches and it's really rood at occupying useless free time. The game's events are mostly historically accurate so its worth playing in order to relive history.....BUY IT!!
Rating: Summary: This game is the real reason WHY I had to buy a laptop! Review: I travel a great deal for business - when I saw the person next to me on the plane playing this game , it was all over! As soon as I got home I had to go out and buy a laptop! Playing this beats writing up spreadsheets any day of the week!I have always had a love for things Egyptian, but this game is downright addictive! The MP3 music on the game is evocative of the era. Im very pleased that the makers of this game made sure to do their research AND if you turn to page 79 of the game's manual you will see a picture on the sail of the boat that they borrowed from a piece of original artwork by a very good artist friend of mine that they lifted from my site. I love the game, I've gotten alot of enjoyment and literal "mileage" out of it! I also recommend the Cleopatra add- on. If you get this, get that one too! ;-)
Rating: Summary: Pharaoh rules! Review: This game is beyond cool! It was made for history buffs like me. The help files don't show up every 5 seconds like on other games, and you can review them without having to play the game over. they're really helpful too. The buildings tell you if they have enough workers or not with one glance. there are only two small drawbacks: 1. You can't control your army. 2. It gets a little annoying to have to worry about your citizens' water, entertainment, food, Etc. but then again, all games have drawbacks, right?...to all you strategy fans, history buffs, sim city peoples, or strategy newbies just getting your feet wet, This game is for you!
Rating: Summary: Great graphics, but some backdraws Review: This game has great graphics for a city-building game, but there are a few backdraws. One is that you never have enough money without the cheats. The second is that when you are pharoah, you have to keep the Kindom's people appeased or they will attack and destroy your city, no matter its size.
Rating: Summary: If I could rate it 6 stars I would!! Review: I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I have spent hours playing it and never get tired of it. I find it fascinating to learn about the different things in Egyptian culture. I also like how you have missions that you must complete to advance. The graphics are awesome and I love the fact that you can click on the people walking around in your city and hear comments from them about what they think of the city. This feature has helped me greatly to fix problems before they got out of hand. It can be very challenging at times to meet the demands of your city but I enjoyed running the city and trying to complete the mission. I highly recommend this game to anyone who like city planning games or strategy games. You will have hours of fun with it.
Rating: Summary: Have time? Review: Be warned, Pharaoh is no different that any other computer game: it chows time! I've played the entire thing through once, and now restarted it to apply skills learned in later levels to the earlier ones. Let me warn you: this game doesn't lent itself so well to replaying as eg. Caesar III did. Building a Grand Pyramid Complex the second time around is a real pain without the challenge of figuring out how to reach the rest of your goals. But many great features you always wished where present in Ceaesar III will be found here, so it is well worth the time & money!!
Rating: Summary: Awesome Game! Review: This game is so awesome! Once I started playing, I couldn't stop! I love how the prologues are read aloud. I thought I loved Sim City, but this is a thousand times better!
Rating: Summary: this game just isin't much fun Review: After a few missions I had enough of this game. The graphics are terrible, the replay value is very low, but worst of all there are like two songs that just play over and over. The music is the most irritating thing I have ever heard. I just didn't enjoy this game much. If you like city building games then you may like this one, but if you like more hard core games then don't waste your time. If the music was better then maybe I would have liked it, but I couldn't make myself play it because it drove me nuts.
Rating: Summary: FIVE STARS ARE INADEQUATE! Review: I have always been an avid (some people say obsessive) Egypt fan. My friend got this game and I borrowed it immediately. He hardly had a chance to play it. I'm hoping this new Cleopatra expansion will allow me to play without the old Pharaoh disk. Probably. This won't stop me from buying Pharaoh; I'll buy it for sentimental value! Awsome game!
