Summary: It¿s a shame that it has so many bugs
Review: I liked it, but felt that it is let down by a large number of bugs. Is there anyone out there who has managed to get this to run perfectly from the CDs alone, without spending a lot of time downloading updates? If there is to be a Neverwinter Nights 2, then I would ask the software publishers to ship a finished product, and not one that requires a lot of troubleshooting.

Summary: Dont be Disappointed,,Read before Buying!!!
Review: Attention Read Before Buying!!

If you are searching for a replacement to your old button smashing RPG(Diablo 2),then this isn't the game for you.

The game's controls and graphics are weak..I was running a P4@ 2.8Ghz with ATI Radeon 9700 and the graphics were still choppy.

To even attack an enemy,it wasn't the same traditional point in the general direction of the enemy to send your charater swinging. You had to have your mouse precisely on the target to attack. And,since the game runs on D&D(Dungeons and Dragons) rules, your character doesn't just walk over and start blasting fireballs or chopping the badguy to pieces, the game has to calculate your character's stats, meaning that your character slowly swings, then win he misses(he usually does)he casually steps back. That gets very boring after a while. It take minutes just to kill one enemy.

The graphics are pathetic. I realize that NWN runs on a more 3D basis than older RPG,but the characters look choppy and blocky.

The game does have it pro's though. The toolset it just awsome, allowing you to create and control your own world. And the multiplayer expierence is awsome, but the games weak controls only become more evident.

The toolset and multiplayer is the only thing going for this game.Don't buy, hoping it's an incredible button smashing RPG to get addicted to,,,because it just isn't.

Summary: quality, quality, quality
Review: I had just quit Everquest after playing it for over 3 years. Those who know EQ know how rich and addictive it can be. I needed a game that I could play while I stuck out my retirement from EQ.

NWN did the job. I'm a fantasy RPG fanatic at heart, but I still like action. Dungeon Siege was too hack and slash, so I decided to try NWN. I played the singe-player campaign with my husband through multiplayer, and we had a blast charging through the plot just to see what happens next.

This game is like playing a book. You can't compare it with EQ, Dungeon Siege, Baldur's Gate, or Diablo. First off, it's not a massive multiplayer online game. Next, the richness of content is the jewel of this game, not the 'uber l33t' capabilities (sorry, powergamers).

The pathing is pretty decent- props to the developers. You can lead a summoned creature, an animal companion, and a henchman. You can only control your own character, but the other companions follow instructions pretty well.

The Aurora client included with NWN is worth the cost of the game itself. You can create your own world, play your own modules, make your own equipment, make dialogues for NPCs- everything. It's just plain awesome. The adventure doesn't end with end of the campaign.

NWN is a game with terrific replay value, especially if you go and make your own mods. You can let your friends download your module, you can download theirs, and you can all play together in multiplayer. You can also visit Bioware's NWN site for excellent support, forums, fellow NWN fans, and download modules made by other fans. Bioware even released another campaign called "Witch's Wake" you can download and play, which is very RP heavy.

I'm not a big gamer, but I'm always on the lookout for the next enjoyable thing. What I require is a nice playable game and visionary content. I'm not a hack and slash fan (as fun at it was, Dungeon Siege was definitely hack and slash and cannot be compared to NWN, as a few people here have done). I like immersing and engaging content. I adore the Aurora client and I've fallen in love with making my own worlds and modules.

The technical stuff: Setup was a breeze for me, and I'm on a pretty humble system- 866mHZ, 384megs of RAM, win XP (had played it on ME before I upgraded to XP, and a geforce2 vid card. The game didn't give me any troubles. It comes with 3 (or 4) installation CDs, but you only need to keep one of them out (the play disc) to play the game.

My only gripe is concerning the character models. They all look a little subpar, and the elves look downright goofy. Aside from the asthetics of the player chars, everything else was gorgeous. The voice acting was very well done, as well.

I'm definitely looking forward the expansion.

Bottom line: If you like a good plot, rich content, a downright stellar RPG, this is your game. If you'd like to create your own D&D mod or campaign, this is what you want (no other game available gives you the versatility of NWN's Aurora client). If, however, you don't like reading through and listening to a story- if you find stories and plots more tedious than enjoyable- then this is NOT the game for you.

My experience with Bioware was refreshing from my long time prior experience with Verant (EQ). Bioware's entire attitude is about catering to what customers want, not as focused on making a quick, big buck. This is my first Bioware game, but just from the quality they put in their games and their customer-centered support pages, I'll definitely be buying another game from them.

Summary: ARGH! Where's the love? Where's the party?Oh, the humanity.
Review: This game has fine graphics, and an awesome dungeon builder. That said, it is best bought only if you plan on playing online. Playing with one other Player Character(PC) I got bored after I made it out of chapter 1. Having only 1 traveling companion if you choose not to play online sucks. There's no party drama, which I had come to appreciate and want from Black Isles Entertainment, the way you read a good novel and wait for the next one from an author. After BGII, everyone was crazy for that sort of interaction. If you read reviews, you'll see people would watch family memebers play instead of tv. There's tons of fan fiction devoted to Baldur's Gate. The plot and the chracters were unforgettable, always taking a twist for the unexpected, and made people laugh, cry, and learn philosophy. Neverwinter is totally predictable, and does not have the depth of BG or
Planescape: Torment. What is up with this! Come on, I know you guys have good writers.

Summary: If you build it, they will come
Review: Neverwinter Nights is a good game, fun out of the box. It requires a modicum of logic, quick decisions, and some arcade skills. This isn't what makes the game great though.

The Aurora toolset allows content to be created by anyone who wants to. Modules created by the people for the people for no additional cost, ranging in quality from very poor to transcedant. Remember a D&D module that you played when you were 15? Chances are that there is a NWN adaptation. If not, you can build it yourself!

Included in this EULA for this package is an internet ready multi-player server (free Linux version downloadable). With this, one can host a group of players, allowing a DM to watch over them much as in the tabletop game. It also allows for a persistent world. These PW's range from player v. player combat (ex. Contest of Champions) to persistent worlds where role-playing is the priority (ex. The Borderlands).

This game has a myriad of content that keep it fresh long after the included module has been completed. I read a review that said this game is easy to finish, but the real game starts when you complete the included module and move into the online world.

Summary: Enjoyable game
Review: I find it interesting how split opinions on this game are, especially as they relate to the single player game. I greatly enjoy the single player game.

A lot of the complaints seem to stem from the fact that people feel the story is not as rich and complex as the BG games. I personally think that is one of the plusses of the game. I only can spare a few hours/week for computer games, so I had a hard time with BG. You just can't put that game down for a week or you forget what quest you're doing and why. I just don't have that problem with NWN. The story is linear, but I think that's a good thing. Sure BG is more rich if you can get sucked in for 8 hours at a sitting, but lots of people don't have the time to do that.

Summary: A VERY BIG DISAPOINTMEMT
Review: I bought this game because lots of my friends told me how cool it was to built and manage your own game but as soon as I got it I had problems with it. First you have to keep switching CD when you install it. Second it took me almost an hour to load it because I kept getting all these error screens. Once that was fixed I tried to play it, the game was slow and choopy I have a brand new Dell with a P4@ 2.4 GHz processor but it looked [bad] it told me to download a new driver for my graphics card I did this but still the game lookes bad it cant seem to take advantage of the hardware that I have. I have yet to try the toolset and built my own enviorment because it wont let me access that part of the game I get error screens something about not being compatible with my pc graphics card.
My PC more than meets the requirements to run this game but i still cant run it without it crashing or slowing down.

Summary: Boring game!!!
Review: I didnt try the multiplayer, but the single player is really really boring. Its very slow.. and dull. Its more like a BOOK, than a game. There is alot of reading to do. I played for about an hour, and I have no urge whatsoever to play it again. The graphics are very poor. It is alot like IceWind Dale, which I thought was equally boring. If you like action and most importantly: FUN, I would definately suggest Blizzard titles like Warcraft3 and Diablo2 instead.

Summary: NWN
Review: The only thing i liked about this game is the charecter development. There's plenty of classes with many perks, skills, and spells. Gameplay is alright, but the storyline isn't super. You can play on online servers with custom mods, but they're too laggy in my opinion.

Summary: Worst. Game. Ever.
Review: Only get this game if several people you already know are getting it at the same time so that you can all play together. Finding well run, stable games to play in online is tough.
