Summary: Better yet
Review: Hey, Robert, instead of HU2, which is a bore, try Trophy Hunter or the Hunting Unlimited 3. The first Hunting Unlimited is great fun, and some work, but HU3 is very interactive. I spend hours on these games and will always come back to HU3 and the Trophy Hunter 2003.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Buy Hunting Unlimited 2 instead.
Review: I have most of the Deer Hunter series and 2005 is less than 2004. 04 had better graphics, better and more lifelike animals and you were able to access skills points easily, but not 2005. Save your money and buy Hunting Unlimited 2 instead.

Summary: This is a good one!
Review: This is not the best game ever but I have sat in front of the computer for at least 6 or 7 hours playing the demo over the last month and I'm still having fun. What a lot of people don;t realize is that this game has great AI and it's like real hunting- there aren't hundreds of animals wandering all over- you have to act like a real hunter to be successful. If you want a game where you run around shooting things every 2 minutes don't get it...but just like real hunting it's a rush when you finally find a nice deer after working hard. Decent graphics and sound, AWESOME "bullet cam" feature!!!

Summary: Best Deer Hunting Game Yet!
Review: What can I say Deer Hunter 2005 literally blew me away with its fantastic graphics, lifelike AI, and numerous game options. When I first saw the game I thought I wouldn't buy it because of the last few Deer Hunter games but then I played the demo and wow what an amazing improvement.

The graphics are simply gorgeous and with a high end video card they really shine with small weeds and leaves that bend as you move through them. I have visited many of the places available to hunt in the game and the development team created the levels spot on for the types of foliage and terrain found there.

Another great aspect of the game is the hunter's skill points that get awarded by killing certain amounts of game or by using certain types of weapons. If you increase your tracking skill points for instance, blood trails and tracks appear more frequently which allows you to find that pesky buck you just shot with a longbow.

Yet another great game feature is the inclusion of rare deer to the game, which creates quite a satisfying experience when you become lucky enough to spot and bag one.

Overall Deer Hunter 2005, once the 1.2 patch is applied, is top notch and I really can't foresee myself ever getting bored with this game, unless of course the folks at Atari release Deer Hunter 2006 with similar features and enhancements.
