Rating: Summary: Perhaps too realistic ;) Review: First of all, let me say that I have purchased all the Deer Hunter games in this franchise. Some, I loved, like Deer hunter 2, some I hated like 3, I really liked 4 with the ability to follow the deer in an area from year to year. I am also an avid deer hunter in real life, or at least, so I was until I moved to Colorado. The game is very realistic, with the new calling system a great "improvement" if you are good with calls. If you are not, it takes some time to get it right. The skills system is also very imaginative. Basically as you participate in hunts, your skills improve, or not, so you get better with time. I play it with a Dell laptop, with a PIII and XP, straight out of the box, and had no problem, except that you don't want to upgrade your Direct X to 8.1. The game play is quite realistic. I have been in about 6 or 7 hunts in the Alabama swamps, and saw only 2 bucks in one of the hunts. (Shot one). In the game, they did behave like the whitetails I've seen in real life. Can't ask for more. It would be good if they had a season option like in DH3 or 4, but we can't have everything. If you are a Deer hunter IRL, this will hold you during the off season. If you are just a digital hunter, you will love it. As close you can get to the real thing, (I wish they would get rid of the mosquitoes and flies buzzing my ears though. I find myself swatting them occassionally) Remember, there are 4 seasons in Texas: Almost summer, Summer, Still summer and Deer Season!

Rating: Summary: Won't run, so don't know how great it is? Review: I bought this for my husband, put it on our 4 month old computer, had a video card installed, and it still locks up continuously. If anyone can recommend a good deer hunting game for Windows XP, I would love to hear about it.
Rating: Summary: Best Hunting Game out There! Review: I'm very satisfied with this game. It's the best one in this genre right now. Perfect? No. What game is? Graphics are the best out there for this genre. Game play is solid. RPG elements add to the over all game. Hunting game fans will enjoy this game.
Rating: Summary: dh2003 Review: This could be a good game for all I know; it locked up so much and so often that my husband could not play it. Tried updating video and sound drivers (as recommended). Reinstalled program. Still would not work. I have a 6-month old computer that by far exceeds the system requirements on the box. Pretty frustrating--a geek could probably make it go on our set up. This is like buying a British car; you have to be a mechanic to make it work.
