Summary: Umm ... there's supposed to be hockey here, right?
Review: Ahh yes, another EA NHL title, another title filled to the teeth with graphics and pretty sounds, but amazingly shallow in what should be its primary focus: hockey.

Oh yes, all 28 teams are here, all their stadiums with beautiful photos and great animations and at least average commentary. It's all so nice. And staying on board with NHL 2000 is that zany puck, the same little guy that suddenly changes directions and takes right turns to stay out of the opossing net. "Smart Pass" cracks me up every time it throws the puck from the offensive zone back to the goalie and those same crazy players that apparently can't see the blue line are back in full force!

Somewhat surprising to me though, being a first time NHL PC player, is the horrific control the keyboard gives in this game. Gameplay is sluggish as is, I don't need a confusing control layout to bother me. Seeing as how the majority probably use the keyboard instead of some fancy gaming pad, you'd think EA would make the keyboard controls at least decent. I mean, can you easily pick out "c" "x" and "z" with only your left hand while watching a hockey game that's blazing along??? I didn't know typing practice was a pre-requiste for playing a hockey game! At the very least the numpad could be used for a bit more accurate directioning, but no, NHL 2000 falls onto those 4 little arrows which lead to nothing but unprecise control and and very sore hand after the game!

Sadly, NHL 2000 takes its place with all the other recent EA NHL's. They're filled with nice eye candy, but little hockey.

Summary: The Best Hockey Game
Review: As soon as I got this game i fell in love with it. It was amazing with all the graphics and how well everything flowed. I also loved the offseason things you could do to your team. I would say that everyone who is interested in Hockey should get this, but NHL 2001 is probably better.

Summary: pretty cool
Review: EA sports came up with a really fun game. The game play is really good the graphics are also good the only thing is they look alot like nhl 98and99(just slightly improved).Commentary is okay but they repeat the same things alot in the game. There are 3 dificulty levels in the game. rookie (easiest) pro and all-star(hardest). you will notice once you get used to one level the one higher or lower will be slower(i find it a bit of a drag). What i like about this game is that it ha never stoped wile i was playing. The only t6hing is once you get used to the all-star level you can blow out the teams 10-0 and eventually it is not as challinging so if you do a season you end up winning all 82 games. One thing i like about the game is that youre hole team is not the top ten scorers in the league. in previous version youre teams players would get 200 points in 75 games and the other teams would get50 points in 82 games. overall this is a very fun and anaddictive game wich i would recommend to any body who likes hockey

Summary: The Best Hockey Game
Review: EA Sports is likely the best designer of sports games ever. They are great on consol games and PC. Good graphics, and the AI has improved from earlier NHL games. Internet play is a nice feature, and the International teams, combined with league play, gives alot of entertainment. Commentary is neat, giving some information on players and teams. Although, the commentary often repeats the same facts over and over again. Over all a really good game.

Summary: NHL 2000 On the Rocks!
Review: Great Game! Really enjoy it. I like to play to relieve stress. Instead of kicking the dog, I kick around some electronic blips made out to be an opposing NHL team. What a great idea! - The keyboard is kindof strange to get used to but now after having played for a long while - it's just automatic - I only have a Pentium 2-266MHz machine so I did have to upgrade and put in a nVidia RIVA TNT2 32Mb video card and RAM to get smooth graphics - I like to switch between the Classic View and Overhead Ice View depending on the style of play - the game is great for '99-'00 technology - I can't wait for next year -

Summary: This game rocks!
Review: I love this game!! i think that this is my favorite game that i own and it is so much fun for all ages. The game seems so real with the commentry and the actual players from the teams and the rules are the same as in real ice hockey. I love the it how you can trip and push over your opponents and sometimes start fights. I also like how you can change players and what position you play etc. I think this game is very cool and is a good buy.

Summary: A must for any hockey fan
Review: This is the best hockey game I have ever seen for a computer. The graphics are really good, and it looks like your really there at the ice arena. After a penelty is called turn up the sound and you can here the player argu with the refferee. you can lead your favorite team to win the Stanly Cup. You can edit team lines and creat your own players. If you have a scanner you can put your face on a player. There are play by play announcers that use the players real names, so you can learn to pronouce the names right. There are so many more cool things you can do. I don't know what I would do without this game. I can't wait for the next one to come out. Any hockey fan needs this game!!!!
