Rating: Summary: Madden is bigger and better Review: A huge improvement over last year's game, Madden 2K1 sets the bar for sports simulations once again. Every aspect of the game has been improved from the AI to the graphics, to the netplay. Nothing is more fun than going mano-a-mano with a live human, and Madden makes it as easy as point and click. Running the ball has also expanded beyond simple sweeps, finally allowing you to pound the ball up the middle without getting continually smothered. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: One Of The Best Football Games You'll Play Review: Although at first, you may think the game doesn't look that impressive, believe me, it is. Although missing a bit of content that would have made it that much better, it still delievers great gameplay. If you're intending to use this with Windows 2000, you may experience some difficulties as Virus tracking software seriously interferes with the gameplay, the easiest thing to do is to shutdown all Virus trackers and start Madden, and just be patient, it will load. You can create your own teams on Madden, although creating players is not an option. The graphics aren't stunning as more modern computer games, but they still make it a worthwhile game. You can edit the playbooks, if you want to create your own plays. You'll want to get a decent gamepad to play the game, as the keyboard is not the best of options for improved gameplay. However, before you go off and by this, Madden 2004 is VERY VERY soon, and it looks much better than any of the Madden games, if you're looking for a good controller to get the most out of Madden 2004, I suggest the Gravis Eliminator Aftershock. The only place I've seen it really cheaply, is here at Amazon.com BUT, having said that, if your PC isn't up to speed to play 2004, 2001 one is a good choice game.
Rating: Summary: Terrible Review: As usual, the Madden football sucks. Everything about this game is bad. Madden will never top GameDay on Playstation.
Rating: Summary: mediocre Review: Basically this is the same game as last year's Madden with newer rosters, but still not completely up to date. Slightly better graphics, but there seem to be some bugs like: on punt returns the AI for your blockers getting in front of you is TERRIBLE...occational problems when saving/loading a game...kicking a FG/PAT takes WAY too long for the kicker to get set up...the franchise mode isin't as nice as last years game (not as easy to navigate, still haven't found out how to sign free agents mid-season). In the end, if you're a die hard fan like me you'll enjoy the game (once EA fixes the bugs), otherwise look elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: before i buy this Review: Before I buy this game I need to know when you sign players do you choose the amount of years and dollars they will make if the decide to sign with your team. Thanks for your repllies
Rating: Summary: It's Okay Review: Graphics can be iffy. I would reccomand restaring your computer before playing the game. The franchise mode is great. Once you start frachise mode, you can't stop. Online games can also be very exciting.
Rating: Summary: Before I buy this Review: I am going to purchase this game but before I do I want to know when you sign a player do you sign him for a selected amount of years and dollars? Thank You for your reply
Rating: Summary: Horrible gameplay will always ruin a game... Review: I don't care how detailed the graphics are, or how many different end-zone dances the players can do when they score a touchdown, or how complete and up-to-date the team rosters are... The gameplay is TERRIBLE! Blockers break their blocks WAY too early, quarterbacks (even the better ones) consistently overthrow or underthrow recievers, and when the ball DOES get near a reciever, they either drop it or change their route right at the last second and miss it. There are a hundred other problems, but I'll just make this short and to-the-point: don't buy it. It's a waste of money.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Game Review: I have played different versions of Madden Football since 1992 and this is by far the best one I've seen. The graphics are superb, the playbooks are detailed, and the rosters are updated to include the incoming rookie class of the 2000 season. The game is kinda complicated when using the keyboard, but it gets easier with practice. I say run, don't walk, when buying this game. It's worth it.
Rating: Summary: Good Substitute Review: I purchased this game before PS2 came out as a "quick fix." But if you can get your hands on a PS2, Madden 2001 is a must. Graphics are unbeliveable, and the trading is realistic. It will cost you to trade up for a first round draft pick or to get E. James on your team. In reference to the field goals by another reveiwer; line drive kicks will solve your problems. All kickers are capable of kicking 50 yarders
