Rating: Summary: HAs its moments;but ultimately ends up as being just ok! Review: Visually NBA Live 2001 is very nice with awesome graphics, smooth game play and a decent soundtrack. So what is the big deal; and why did I not give this game more then three stars. Well, the answer is simple. The game play, even though it smooth si somewhat unrealistic. You come totally free and the player jump shoots..yeah right. Another thing is that there are no technical fouls and not enough injuries. ....
Rating: Summary: I'm so disappointed Review: WEll, i've played almost every nba live game. but i think NBA live 2000 will be much better. for nba live 2001, they missed practice and 3 point shoot out. They also can't custom a team and most of the things that can create ur player is gone. I'm so disappointed. the graphics are good but they need to make the stadium more people like people that' s taking pictures and a refree and people walking around and doing other things. i also think the benched players are out of size. some are so huge and some are so small they didn't do anything. just puffy their muscles.and when it's a foul, they dont' cry out the foul. and i think the game shouldn't be 15.00 it should be lower like 5 dollars or a little more! i hope EA sports can make nba live 2002 much better like i suggested. and also the computer are too lazy they don't go for the ball they just stand there doing nothing. they won't go for the ball. and the ways of dunking i hate it i like the dunking in nba live 98 they have different kinds of dunking like the spinning one and more. so i hope nba live 2002 will be better.
Rating: Summary: A step back... Buy 2000 instead! Review: What a disappointment! Live 2000 was (and now still is!) the best hoops sim ever. This game not only doesn't really improve on it, but it also take a step back. The PROS: best graphics yet in a PC sports game; cool low-post moves make scoring with your center more realistic; good game flow. The CONS: ... AI, the CPU never leads a fast break EVER; rebounding is infuriating; too easy to steal and block; no more in-game save; create-a-player details have been downgraded; 4 foot shots are missed 90% of the time even by Jordan; crossover and spin buttons are useless as you end up out of bounds; hard to perform on the fly pass and shoot; impossible to drive by a defender. Should I go on? Because I could... Seriously, do us all a favor and take EA sports' survey on their site and tell them how much this game stinks. Hopefully next year it will regain its crown. Till then... Play live 2000!
Rating: Summary: EA sports does it again!! Review: When I got NBA Live 2000, I was amazed in the graphics. You get to play one on one with your favorite B-ball stars and much more. I created my own team, with players that I created. Now EA sports has all this and more. Better graphics, more detailed crowd, updated players and teams, and more of the NBA action every one loves.
Rating: Summary: A great B-ball game, but far from perfect Review: You probably won't find a better basketball game for your PC, unless you go back to Live 99, yet there are too many problems here to be ignored. The gameplay is much better than in 2000, yet too often you find yourself having to repeat the moves that work and not being able to do things which seemed simple in 99 (like a simple spin move). The comments are very repetative and sometimes wrong (Antonio Harvey is always reffered to as "Hardaway"). You'll hear Bob Elliot telling you to play faster and slower on the same play. None of the players look familiar but the game is still pretty good. I'd check it before buying it and maybe wait for 2002.
