Rating: Summary: Fun...and then more fun! Review: I love humongous games since they have no violence and they are based on the idea of teamwork. The game is a bit more tricky then other backyard games. However, it is very fun and I will buy more titles from humongous entertainment. The commentary is hillarious and the graphics are quite nice. Highly Recommended.
Rating: Summary: a below-average game Review: I own all of the backyard games, and this is byfar the worst. It has bad gameplay and is completely revolved around the fast-break. It is also impossible to play defense or rebound. Also, you cannot play as real NBA or WNBA teams such as in the other Backyard Games. Also, there are only 2 pro players (Kevin Garnett and Lisa Leslie). So unless you are a hardcore gamer under 10 with a good temper (because this game will get really annoying after a while) dont waste your money on it. Spend it on the new Backyard Game, Backyard Baseball 2003 (which is a great game).
Rating: Summary: The Best game Review: I think it is one of the best games because it has 3-D graphices in the game.
Rating: Summary: Basketball Fever Review: I think they could have done a little better but... it is very fun. = > I have a proublem saving a season game but that is it. Also they only have a few game modes unlike backyard baseball.
Rating: Summary: Humongus Sports Review: I think this game will be great because all humongus games are and i love backfootball. Backyard sports help me understand the game more. This one is sure to be a good one (. . .).
Rating: Summary: backyard basketball Review: I'm "MoneyMan", a registered online coach at humongoussports.com, and as a registered coach i can play "backyard" games online. I haven't bought the game yet, but was very disapointed to find out that this game nor Backyard Football 2002 didn't have online play. I was very happy though to find out that it had more descriptive create-a-player options, pro players, and specific options. My fellow Backyard gamers updated me on the game, and I found that it was not as good as I expected. This game was what everyone was waiting for at "The Sidelines", the Humongous Sports messageboard, before it was unexpectedly shut down for a second time. To find out it had limited saving options and no online play was a bad start. However, finding awesome graphics and great play-by-play and other options was a big plus. Overall, I think I will be happy enough with this game.
Rating: Summary: Terrible Review: I've been playing these backyard games for a while. At first it's fun but after a while it just gets too easy. You can't lose even if you play on hard. ...
Rating: Summary: The best game Review: It is a very good and fun game. it is my favorite game EVER! Vince Caeter is my favorite. I think that Backyard Basketball is the game of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if it was sold out at a store! It is just the greatist computergame!!!!!!!

Rating: Summary: Flawed But Excellent Review: Like many games in the "Backyard" series this is very enjoyable but flawed. The main problem is the stats. The list of top ten players doesn't track blocks. Rebounding is so difficult that your team and players will never appear in the top ten. The end-of-season awards for top player on team and in the league don't work at all. And please see the reviewer below, of all the Backyard games, this appears to require the most computer power. If your computer is not very powerful, the game will play in slow motion--very frustrating. Finally, there are only two pro players; hopefully, future versions will include more. There are many positive points that we've come to expect from manufacturer "Humongous Entertainment," including trick plays, offensive and defensive strategies (Offense: Crash, Normal, or Fastbreak; Defense: Tight, Normal, or Loose), decisions about which players to pick and at what positions, when to sub, etc. Except for the lack of rebounding and outside shooting (especially in the most difficult level), game play is fairly realistic. My player recommendations include the always-speedy Pete Wheeler, defensive specialist and inside shooter Keisha Phillips, all-around threat Lisa Leslie, Reese Worthington (great ball-handling and speed)and outside shooters Kenny Kawaguchi and Pablo Sanchez. Our current team features Pete, Lisa, Reese, and two players whose skill distribution and build are determined by the player. The skill points of these latter players increase after one season; they become among your very best players. The game requires quick responses; I recommend it for older grade school kids (maybe around 3rd through sixth grades) and adults who enjoy this series of sports games. Others may enjoy the somewhat easier-to-play Backyard Baseball or Football.
