Summary: Take MY word for it...
Review: ...DON'T BUY THIS! Man. Why can't some people leave well enough alone? 2003 had better overall graphics and programming than 2004, and 2004 had better play mechanics. This one has graphics that ABSOLUTEY SUCK! The guys look like they are wrapped in plastic. There moves look like one of those half programmed conry games - they do not look realsitic like last years' game.

I bought NHL 2005 and this. I like watching basketball on TV waaay more than hockey, but the Hockey game is waaaay better than this. Graphic wise and play wise. It boggles the mind why people would seemingly make an inferior product. What did they think - they were making a better game?

Ok, they have all-star weekend. It does not do much good when the graphics suck. They are so bad it is hard to for me to even want to play it. These are supposed to be VIDEO games, not just games. VIDEO meaning they had better look good...

I swear, the only reason I bought this is because Sega does not make it's ESPN for PC. If they did, I would never even bother with EA. At least with the last two, we got decent games. Although last year was virtually unplayable online. I asked them to give me one fro free and they refused. I did not want to buy a console because I know a new one is on the way. This time, I will get one just to play my sports games online, where I am the undisputed master(SuperbadCT). What a shame. It's the good thing hockey is almost as much fun.

How can they make NHL 2005 look so good, but make this look like crap...?

Summary: Better and worse than 2003
Review: First things first, if you are strickly a PC gamer, than this is the best NBA game you can get. The game gives a lot more options on offense than the previous version. Now you can finally choose when to pull up instead of driving, rebounding instead of puting in, and alley ooping instead of passing. The all star game stuff is also fun. And there's even extras like a jukebox and an NBA store. The graphics and sound are also excellent, the music has more songs than ever but less variety as well.

The main problem I have with the game is that the CPU, even on the easiest level, plays defense like the championship Spurs. I actually like the fact that scoring in a half court offense is harder, but there's no way that every team in the NBA will ever play flawless transition defense. I always use the Nets, so I depend on the fastbreak to score, and I can seriously say that the CPU's defense has hurt the game's fun rating. Not only that, but this defensive greatness doesn't seem to rub off on your own team members. I think some further tweaking is necessary. The menu interface also seemed to be better in 2003.

Still, overall I enjoy this game a lot, I think EA overdid it with the defense thing, but this shouldn't stop an NBA fan from having fun with the game. I only wish they fixe the CPU logic for the next game, and allow the player the option to navigate the menus using only a gamepad.

Summary: This Game Sucks except 3 Point shootout in all-star weekend
Review: I am fine with the gameplay and graphics. What I find unacceptable is the fact that menus must be navigated with the mouse, and cannot be navigated with a joypad. What makes it more bewildering is that this was ported from a console game, where it is expected that the joypad is the only mode of input. Even to dismiss dialogs between quarters you must use the mouse or keyboard. I can't start a game, kick back on my beanbag and play, I need to sit at my desk so I can keep the mouse within reach. If I had known this before I bought the game, I would have bought the PS2 version.

Review: i dont know what the other guys are talkin about the graphics are great, you just have to adjust stuff. the player faces look real, and in the dunk contest, i saw the guys smile when they were introduced. live 04 didn't have that. also, 05 has different types of layups and dunks and the dunks actually look real. its kinda hard to shoot the trey in 05 though
too bad you cant control your dunks in real game mode.

Review: I've played the PS2 version of this, which has glitches in it that make the gameplay unbearable, but the PC version is even worse. The gameplay is choppy, and it makes you feel like your eyes are going to pop out of your head because it hurts to watch the screen. I've never played a game I've been so disappointed in. It's a great game, if they could only make it run smoothly. So don't buy this game, it's a waste of time and money.

Summary: This game is horrable. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!
Review: In my opinion, this is the best NBA Live game to come out. The graphics are amazing with every player looking exactly like real players (unlike last year's edition). It does take some time to get used to when you more up from one level to the next. However, that is with every game &, the more practice you have with it, the better you will be at it. Get this game!!! I can't wait for next year's edition.

Summary: Please don't buy this game!
Review: This is the most sickening game ever. Ok, it has nice features like "All star weekend" added to entice costumers. But the most basic thing in a game - The Gameplay is awful. Cmon, what's with the passing in this game. How difficult is it to design a game with proper passing? if i press a combination of direction arrows, the ball should go to the nearest player in that direction. in this game it will go to every player but that one. It really gets on to your nerves. I played a whole season, every match, so that I will get used to the passing. But no, i conclude it is the game developers' mistake, not mine. Why don't EASPORTS just "fire" the programmers who developed the passing feature and try for a better game next year. I urge everyone to not to buy this game.
