Rating: Summary: Even though it's $10, don't buy it. Resist the temptation! Review: I did myself a disservice by buying this game because it was priced right (how can you go wrong with an Xbox title for $10?!). Well, as I find out, you could be out $10 for a game you'll only play once. The other reviewers were right on about their assessments although I didn't do any research since this was an impulse buy. I could do without fancy graphics (although the "linebacker" bowlers have to go) and play modes considering that this is a low-budget title, but, at least, make the gameplay legit. The pins, when hit, do not react realistically and their fall paths are totally unbelievable. Little background is given on the pro bowler choices prior to the game. Things like left-handed, bowling tendencies, bowling ball weight, etc. are left out and you have to learn by trial and error. In summary, don't waste the money. If you get this game as a gift, ask for the gift receipt and don't open the game so you can return it for credit towards a game that you will enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Reaaly cool Review: I love this game. It has a good format. I would buy it cause bowling is my sport.
Rating: Summary: Outrageously bad. Review: I paid $10 for this at Best Buy also. How bad could it be? Answer: plenty. Pin action is unrealistic, and impossible splits and spare combinations that have never been left in the 100+ year history of live bowling are commonplace on this game. I don't know what bodily dysfunctions the animated bowler suffers from, but is it really that difficult to computer animate a bowler with decent form? Finally, the varying camera angles are kind of interesting, but they make it impossible to see where the ball is hitting the pins in order to make adjustments. As far as I can tell, perfect strikes result from nose hits.
Almost as bad as the Brunswick bowling game that came out a few years ago. There has not been a good bowling video game since Mattel Intellivision, which is two decades old.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE BOWLING Review: IM A BIG BOWLING FAN.IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A BOWLING GAME FOR A LONG TIME NOW.AND NUTHING.BUT FINALLY A GAME AND A GOOD GAME TOO.BY MY EXPEIRENCE ITS A GREAT GAME AND FOR ALL YOU BOWLERS THAT LIKE TOYS R US AND VIDIO GAMES THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU.
Rating: Summary: This game sucks Review: Real bowling is great. This game bears almost no realistic apperance. I guess for $10 bucks that's what you get. My four year old pressing the "A" button once has beaten me every time. The build a ball section is ridicilous. There is no explaniation as to what each choice means. The game control is a joke. I'm a 210 lefthanded bowler in real life. I have yet to make it to 100 with this game. The kids have more fun making the bowlers and ball then they do actually bowling.
Rating: Summary: Not worth the $10 I paid Review: The gameplay itself is fair....maybe a 4 on a 10pt scale... but the rest of it is horrible. User Interface is terrible, it's a bowling game that doesn't keep a single stat at all. You bowl a game, and that's it. Nothing to work towards, etc. No seasons, the "tournaments" are weak. I am highly disappointed in this game after playing the in-depth EA sports games for the last 8, 9 years. This game lacks depth in every aspect. For everyone saying, ":it's cool cause it's bowling".... nah. I found bowling games on the computer from 97, 98, etc which was much more in depth and entertaining than this. I'm so disappointed that I'm in the process of trying to sell the game back after having it for only 15 hours.

Rating: Summary: I LOVE BOWLING Review: this bowling game starts out really great; the intro video is just shot on camcorder people partying and bowling and jumping in the air and stuff with all the glow bowling lights running on them, totally low budge and straight-up, which is awesome. the game itself though, after playing tiger woods and links, its hard to go back to the old press the buttons in time style - they totally should have gone with the analog swing, it would have had a lot more depth. in fact that is my biggest complaint about the game. also they rendered the whole bowling alley (just one however, not multiple venues like they should), and you're always alone in the place. you never see opponents or audience members or anything. it would have been great to have open bowl night where you just hear all the bowlers bowling and you see some 2D crowds, and then some 3D rendered people, like other players on your lane maybe. the one solitary player you do ever see is a stiff robot. you get no celebrations, facial reactions, nothing. you could have had glow-bowling-rock-and-bowl-night with custom soundtracks for the xbox. crowds for the pro games and commentator would have been great. what little sound there is, it's the sound of the ball rolling down the lane in an empty bowling alley. the whole experience is oddly solitary and silent and lifeless for something you usually enjoy with a bunch of drunk friends, shouting and playing the jukebox and talking trash to eachother. the pinstrikes sound cool, but it's hard to screw that up. seriously, this game almost looks and plays like a macromedia shockwave game. i give it 2 stars instead of 1 because it's bowling, and bowling rules.
