Rating: Summary: So-So Review: I got Sim Coaster thinking that it would offer tons more features than Sim Theme Park. Not really..... Stick with Sim Theme Park or better yet Roller Coaster Tycoon!!! First off you can not pick which park you want to start off with. You have to start off the park they want you to start out with, and then as you win challanges you can move on to the next park. Unlike the other games that at least give you two options to choose from. At first this did not bother me, because each park has cool different rides and shops to go with the different themes. But the enjoyment of getting to see the new rides as they were researched was short lived.....You have no time to ride the rides, design the rides, layout a beautiful park, and snoop on the guests. Why......... If you do not constanley check the status of your rides, trashes ,bathrooms, crime , etc, everything will fall apart. Thats all I was doing [checking the the status of everything, boring!!] If you like to JUST manage stuff than this game is for you. But if you are like me [enjoying the process of creating cool rides and making the park look beautiful] than you better pass.
Rating: Summary: Works fine for me Review: I have Windows XP and this game works fine. However, the graphics engine is still sort of slow and slightly jerky, even if you have a good graphics card and a 2-ghz processor. If you like making theme parks, then I would get it. This is not, however, what I would consider to be a good roller coaster building game. In that sense, the name is very misleading. The coasters aren't that realistic and riding them only makes you feel bad about your hardware, no matter how good it really is. If you're looking for something to build coasters and have an enjoyable ride, I would suggest Ultimate Ride or Hyper Rails. Hyper Rails is pretty complicated, though, compared to Ultimate Ride, but Hyper Rails is more involved with the theme park aspect while giving more coaster options. Ultimate Ride has a few theme park type options, like "props," but you can't shape the environment as much.
Rating: Summary: Think twice Review: I haven't played this game, but if it is like Theme Park World I don't want to. It took too long to install, takes up a HUGE amount of resources and space, and I couldn't return it to the store when I found out how much it sucked.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money. Buy Rollercoaster Tycoon instead Review: I love simulation games. I own all the Sim games, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Tropico (new game - Excellent!), Ceasar II, Postal, etc. The graphics on this game might have been impressive in 1994 when the original Theme Park (which this is derrived from) came out, but they are poor compared to todays standards. When I opened the box and played the game, I felt like I had been ripped off. This is Sim Theme Park with a new name and some slight changes. Sim Theme Park was not much better than Bullfrog's Theme Park. If you want a fun simulator of a theme park with great graphics and some funny things (like drowning your unhappy visitors in the lake, or crashing your roller coasters on purpose) then get RollerCoaster Tycoon and the expansion packs for that game.
Rating: Summary: Okay I Guess Review: I pre-ordered this game right when it came out as I do with all of the Sim games. I ripped open the box when it arrived and played on it for a couple of hours. I guess you could say the game is okay, but I would buy it used if I were you. There are a few new features such as riding the ride yourself and the golden ticket goals that make the game worth playing, however, the game is difficult to play and not easily customizable. There aren't many ride and landscape choices, either. Instead of this, buy Roller Coaster Tyoon. It will give you more of what your looking for.
Rating: Summary: Fun, but not the best Review: I recently purchased SimCoaster. It is not exactly like Roller Coaster Tycoon (RCT). It has a lot more micromangement. For example, you have to make sure the facities are always clean, etc. You even control how much salt is on the french fries. I prefer this game over RCT because RCT focuses more on building the roller coasters and then sort of watching the park grow. Here, building the coaster is just part of it. More important is that the business is good all the time. You have to read ride summaries, and be constantly checking on the visitors. Otherwise, people lose intrest in your park. You can't stop building or researching. It's definetly harder to be prosperous (it takes a few minutes to get 15 visitors!). I like the challenge though. People are talking about how annoying the advisor is. She is pretty annoying (I built a ride and not even two seconds later she said "Build a path to your ride. The visitors can't get in"). You learn to deal with it though. One plus from RCT is that in Simcoaster you really get to build and manage it. That beats the downsides of the game. The graphics are a whole lot better than RCT. They are almost 3-D. However THE GAME IS SLOW. I guess its because the graphics are very detailed. It's a pain to wait a long time for the game to load. You really need a computer that can handle it. So I guess overall it's a fun game but it requires TIME and PATIENCE and you need to stay on your toes. If you are looking for a RCT clone, this isn't it. I liked managing the park, because in real parks thats how it is. However not everyone does. If you don't, get RCT.
Rating: Summary: Rollercoaster Tycoon vs. SimCoaster Review: I tried this game after playing RCT for quite a while, so I might be a bit biased. However, I think that this is really a clone of RCT. It does have one cool feature that I do wish RCT had. You can actually ride in the coasters you build! That alone makes it a must have for the computer game buff that likes these amusement park sim games. I recommend it. After all, if they're both fun and well done, why not play both?
Rating: Summary: I have no clue... So I'll just put up three stars.. Review: I've never tried this game, never even heard of all these new fansy things, SimCity, SimThemePark, or whatever. The only game I have is "The Sims", which is, I'm guessing, one of the greatest games ever made. It's cool, but what does a roller coaster have to do with "The Sims"? I thought that "The Sims", was making families, making houses, and living for them, but riding a roller coaster? Ok... This makes absolutely NO sense to me whatsoever. Why would you want to even ride a roller coaster. Excuse me, it might be a great game, it's just... "The Sims" is one of the greatest ever games, and I don't think people should ruin it by trying to "fansy it up" or something... sheesh..
Rating: Summary: A Good Review Of SIMCOASTER Review: If you like STP and RCT you will love this game!It is a must have!SC has grapics like STP.,But you can construct more.
Rating: Summary: Best theme park game yet Review: If you're a fan of games like Roller Coaster Tycoon, SimCoaster is not to be missed. Just as in Roller Coaster Tycoon, you build and manage a theme park. But SimCoaster takes this to a whole new level with a much easier to use interface (esspecially coaster building) and awesome 3D graphics that let you walk around the park and ride the rides. Best of all, you DON'T NEED A 3D CARD to play. I love Roller Coaster Tycoon, but it's a bit dated (at least two years old). Pick this one up
