Summary: This is one of the best sims ever done
Review: Following in the fine tradition of Jane's the folks at the Skunk Works have done it again. They've give us hard core sim jocks enough to sink our teeth into, if we're not too fussy, and they've still made military flight sims available to the more casual pilot.

Most of all, this sim is FUN. With the training missions under your belt you can work up an unlimited number of self done scenarios, or you can jump into any one of the campaigns and see how you fare. It's just well done. I recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Hope you don't have a personal life
Review: I actually ordered this game as a secondary choice. Boy was I wrong, this is definitely first rate. I was extremely impressed with the level of detail in this simulation. The smooth scrolling of the terrain make low level flight a definite experience. The only drawback is that the AI is severly lacking in creativity. The freindly aircraft will come to your assistance but are dependent on your commands to make any intelligent decission when it come to target engagement. The enemy aircraft follow standard offensive and defensive tactics which is okay for the gamer and simulator buff, but those craving realism require an AI that will adjust to your moves and counter accordingly. The shortcomings just noted are minimal in comparison to the visual effects, audio and overall gameplay. Nothing can be done to reduce the 5 star rating because this sim deserves more than that. So far running on a PIII 450 with 192 megs of RAM, 60gig ATA66 and a Voodoo3 3000 AGP, there have been no lockups and everything has been smooth sailing, the video after a full install that requires 1100MB of space is still a little choppy running from a 50x CD-ROM. Having only been in one actual air-to-air engagement(Helicopter), I can't really ding this game on realism. The spectacular explosions are quite exagerated. All minute problems aside this is deffinitely the sim to purchase, and if you somehow thought you had a personal life... you do in front of your computer with flightstick in hand.

Summary: I payed 1,900 Roubles ($70) get it for 960 Roubles ($35)
Review: I bought this game at a store here in Russia and it was $70 translated to American. I would have payed this price for it too. In this game you can fly(in order from olderst to most modern), the F-4, F-105, A-10, F-15C/E, F-15E, F-16, F-117, and the F-22. You can even fly the Soviet MIG in the multiplayer. The game is so detailed they had to give you 2 CD's in an excellent Jewl Case. I would recomend the Mircosoft Sidewinder precision pro, Joystick. You have full weapon loadouts from NAPALM to AGM-130 GPS Guided missiles to AIM-120 AMRAAM's (Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missiles). You can even load the plane with External Tanks that you can jettison if you need to intercept a possible Threat. After with you can call a vector to the tanker so you can top the tanks in Mid-Air. This is the last Military Flight Sim that you would need to buy.

My only reqest is that Janes would make a flight sim on "Soviet" and "Mother Russia's" Air achievments (i.e. SU-27, Mig's, Su-33, etc...)

Summary: The Most Realistic combat flight Sim
Review: I bought this game from amazon.com. I haven't stopped playing it since i got it 5 days ago. There are 8 planes. and an extra plane (Mig-29) that you can fly in multiplayer. You can fly in a war that occured in the past or in the future. There is even a mission where you have to save Air Force One from migs just like in the movie. In one mission I had to shot tanks in an A-10 and I ran low on fuel and I got to REFUEL IN MIDAIR. You can fly 1960's fighters to new age fighters. If you want to fly a USAF jet but you are to old, to young or don't have the time this is the closest thing you will get to the real thing. Buy this game and you'll be proud to have it in your software library. By the way you would need P200MHZ, 450M Hard Disk to own this game. 350MHZ recomended.

Summary: Another Excellent Janes Product
Review: I remember way back when in the early 90s when Janes Combat Simulations came out with Chuck Yeager's Air Combat. Ever since that moment, I knew Janes would be leading the Flight Sim market. I have not been disappointed. With USNavy Fighters, ATF, and Longbow under my belt (all Janes titles), I counted down the days to USAF's release. The game is excellent, combining realism, fun, great graphics, and an awesome mission builder into one nice package. Hard-core simmers who prefer flying only one plane with maximum realism will be disappointed, and so will fans of sims that incorporate 100 planes and the like. Fortunately, these simmers will not be so disappointed as to not buy the game. With 8 planes to fly, awe-inpsiring graphics and arcade-type fun; even the hardest-core simmers will enjoy the game (see reviews on any simulation web site). All in all, this game continues in a long tradition of excellence in simulations by Janes, and one that should NOT be passed up.

Summary: Best Sim of the Year, but flaws.
Review: I started purchasing Jane's titles in 98 starting with IAF. I now own IAF, F-15, F/A-18 an USAF. Definitely USAF is the best one, however it has some minor and major flaws. One of the most disturbing flaws is that I have a 700 MhZ Athlon processor and it marks it as an Intel Pentium II 366 Mhz, and then it doesn't let me set the graphics to their best level. Tnen there's the game itself. You SHOUDN'T buy it if you have anything slower than a Pentium II 450. A friend also bought it for a Pentium 266 and the game woudn't run. USAF comes with a mission builder which is very difficult to use and doesn't work when you play the missions you made. But however, USAF has incredible missions, very exciting pilot and an excellent multiplayer mode. You really should think about purchasing it!

Summary: Nice eye candy, lousy flight models!
Review: I was very disappointed after flying it. I was excited about all the different aircraft I could fly, but I've been spoiled by Falcon4, the king of flight sims. The first problem is the constant bobbing up and down of the planes' noses after take-off and while landing. The biggest problem, IMHO, is the fact that the flight models are BAD. All the planes fly exactly alike. The A-10 is just as fast and as maneuverable as the F-15. That is not accurate. If you like accurate flight models then run, don't walk, away from USAF! The cockpits are fuzzy and the switches don't work, like they do in F4. The scenery is nice, it runs smoothly, and has never crashed on me. The missions are fair, but it doesn't have a dynamic campaign. It's heavy on eye candy, but light on flight modeling. If you just want to fly different cockpits and watch the scenery, then by all means get it. If you want accurate flight models for each plane and a dynamic campaign, then get Falcon4.

Summary: UASF puts you in the seat of these Awsome jets
Review: My uncle, Col. Robin Olds flew an F-4C Phantom in Vietnam. He had 4 Mig kills and was also a P-51 Mustang Ace in World War II. He played USAF the other night and I heard him yelling to his WSO to check their "6" when a Mig 21 pulled in back of him. This game ROCKS! The closest you will get to the real thing.

Summary: Pretty good!
Review: Not much to say what hasn't been mentioned already.

This game might not be the most realistic sim around /the flight models seem to be way too forgiving and overdone in favor of playability, and instruments are simplified/, but on the other hand, this game is FUN to play !

Fun, nice graphics & good sound, so I'd recommend it to everyone but hardcore flightsim fans who'd, if expecting Falcon4's or F-18's complexity, be probably dissappointed...

I'd preffer F4/F18 style, but I kept the game anyway :)
