Summary: Wasn't too impressed with original...this is great!
Review: Like i said in my title, the original Zoo Tycoon did not thrill me. Just when I thought I had wasted ...Marine Mania came to the rescue. It took me a while to finally decide: what the heck, I'll get it. I was not dissapointed. I mean, great whites and T. Rex's, who could possibly pass it up? With almost 80 new animals, this game is vastly expanded. You can build tanks that actually have depth (unlike the previous water terrain tool), and house animals such as orca whales, giant squids, and many different kinds of sharks. Plus, certain animals can put on shows! You can impress your guests by having your orcas of dolphins do amazing jumps and breaches, play with balls, and many more amazing tricks! THe great white shark can even perform in shows; you can have your sharks do breaches and feeding frenzies! You can hire marine specialists to train, feed, and doctor your marine animals. You can even put marie plantlife and sunked ships into your tanks to make your animals feel right at home. Many new scenarios and freeform zoos are also available, includinga Kids Zoo, in which everything is unlocked! Plus, this expansion includes the Dinosaur digs expansion as well! Finally, we can turn our zoos into Jurrasic park! You can house dinosaurs such as fast and lethal velociraptors, the huge Apatosaurus, and of course, a T. Rex! This is definitely everything I hoped for in an expansion, even though the original was pretty unsatisfactory. Also, here is a little cheat:Hold down Shift, then 4 too get lots of money, but be careful, it could delete some or your fences, so do it early in the game!

Review: I got zoo tycoon and the expansion packs for it and I am on it everyday for about 2-3 hours. The people on here are so much better than Roller Coaster Tycoon. They look 2 times more real than Roller Tycoon.All of my friends like it. My family to. When I was at my grandmas I couldn't wait to go home so I could play Zoo Tycoon. I really recemend this game to everyone!

Review: Zoo Tycoon is the best computer game i've ever had! It keeps me busy for hours and I never get bored. With expansion packs it's even more fun. I would suggest it for anyone who likes animals and is interested in zoos. You also learn about animals and what they like in their exhibits. The graphics are really good and the sounds are cool too. It's a little hard when you start out but it gets easier. It's the best game ever!

Review: i bought this one for my grandaughter for christmas and we all had to play after watching her and enjoying all the animals and births and learning to manage a business fun for all. i loved it so much i am buying my own. and im 60 but in combo with the marina and im sure we will get the dinasaur one next, it is hours of fun.

Review: This game is fun! If you like animals you might also consider The Sims Unleashed. If you got Rollercoaster Tycoon and liked it,this is THE game for you. The people that visit the zoo are better than the people in Rollercoaster Tycoon because there are children and girls-not just boys that all look the same. Rollercoaster Tycoon people have more personality,though. There are many different animals to choose from. My personal favorites are the pigs. All of the animals can have babies and they are all realistic. If you want a fun game with interesting graphics and new possibilities in game play every single time you play, GET ZOO TYCOON! If you are buying this game for someone I reccomend it to girls 9+ of boys 11+ because my little brother never plays it. He likes car racing. I hope you found my review useful!

Summary: Not really for kids?
Review: I bought this game for my 2 kids age 6 and 8. The game is a little bit too complicated for them. I had to sit down and try and learn it to allow them to play. The game ran way too slow for my patience and required a lot of learning. I would only recommend it for older kids or adults who have alot of time to invest and already have a pretty powerful computer system.

Review: This game is FANTASTIC! I absolutly LOVE zoo tycoon. It is so much fun to build exhibits, learn from your mistakes, and occasionally let a lion or two out for some fun, but i spend hours on it (which may or may not be a good thing) and i still havent seen it all! There is so much to do, though my computer is a bit slow, so those in the same boat as I am, be patient, it is definently worth the wait!

Review: People say one of the drawbacks for this game is--because it is too much like Roller Coaster Tycoon. However, I, a lover of almost all simulation games and Roller Coaster Tycoon, I disliked this game. Unless you find the concept exciting, do NOT buy this game. Unlike Roller Coaster Tycoon the scenarios are much more boring and broad and after a while (for me, two or three hours) the game became monotanous and boring. It was definately not worth the money and now it is sitting on a quiet dusty shelf. Also, unlike Roller Coaster Tycoon this game appeals to younger age groups. My friend's on (12 yrs. old) loves this game with a passion. So to conclude, I would only recommend buying this game if..... -The idea of building a zoo appeals to you. -If, you are not buying for youself, primarily younger people will take an interest in this. -You don't mind a somewhat monotonous game play.

Summary: Great Game, Almost Perfect!
Review: Well, I own and love RollerCoaster Tycoon, and I just couldn't get enough of it the first month that I owned it. It was just SO MUCH FUN!... The game was so new, so cool, so free, that it sold like crazy! Well, since then, we've seen the birth of dozens of other games like that; including Mall Tycoon, Train Tycoon, Airport Tycoon, Monopoly Tycoon, etc...even a sequel to the classic Roller Coaster Tycoon (RollerCoaster Tycoon 2). Yet most of those were okay, but didn't capture half of the magic that the first did. But this one, I have to admit, came extremely close. How? 1. Gameplay: I loved the theme of the game. You start out with several thousand dollars. With that cash, you pick a piece of land you'd like to own. An island, a desert, an ice peak, etc... Once you've selected your park, you are sent there to create a zoo. No help, no anything. You are on your own. So you decide to buy an animal. What should you buy? You can buy just about anything, from elaphants, bears, hippos, cheetahs, ostriges, lions, seals, polar bears, buffalo, etc...it's incredibel! Now, you have to make these animals happy, or else they'll just sit in a corner and eventually die. The guests don't want to see that![.] So you have to build animals large areas to play in, and friends to play with: you have to add african savana for elaphants, trees for goriallas or monkeys, water for any animal to drink out of. You must also build these "habitats" in a way that your guests can see the animals. Meaning no trees blocking the viewing area unless you built the path all the way around so they can see. You must let your guests get the best view possible, or else you will fail in your quest to become a "great" zoo. 2. Graphics: Incredible! A lot of people might think that you put an animal in, and it just sits there. WRONG! Its the complete oppostite! The animals run around, play with each other. The seals swim, the polar bears have growling fights. The animals lap water (you can keep track of your animals happiness and such like Roller Coaster Tycoon). And they all have waste that you have to clean up. For this, you hire trainers, who do everything the animals need. It's cool to watch an animal sick, lying on its back. The trainer goes in, lies by its side giving it medicine, then stands up and watches the animal get back up. This game's graphics were awsome! Not to mention the occasional humor. Can anyone say "High santa clause!" this X-mas (sometimes witches, or Santa, or planes fly over the zoo, with jingling bells or weird cries.) "HO HO HO, Merry Chistmas!" 3. Options: A lot. You can name all of your pets, watch as they have off-spring, and name them. Build paths, food establishments, water holes, etc.. You hire more employees when you have more animals. You must also think in this, or compromise to fit as many animals as possible in the place. Some animals get along, some don't. And if one gets loose because of a faulty fence...(never put a low, wooden fence around an animal like an elaphant, buffalo, lion, cheetah). If they break loose, your zoo will be in a mania. Its kind of fun to save and try this every once and awhile (very fun...mahaha!) Overall, this game had most of what the original had. But now it's in a zoo! Not to mention once you get bored (if ever this happens), there are at least 2 or 3 expansion packs. Can you say Jurassic Zoo (Dinosaur expansion pack), or Waterpark Melee (Aqua Expansion Pack). I love Tycoon, and u should 2! Don't miss out on all the fun, this game is fun, great, and though a little strechted (Huge places for eating, that in my opinion look like farmhouses), this game is a blast! A must-own! Thx!
