Rating: Summary: As simple as that !! Review: If you enjoyed the Episode IV, V, VI & I and waiting to enjoy Episode II & III (or even Episode VII, VIII & IX), you should buy this game. All you can do is take control of your Star Wars favour ...... as simple as that would drive you mad. Right?
Rating: Summary: Played the demo... Review: ...buying the game.It is very easy to rate a game that has not been released...it is called playing the demo. I was sceptical of this game, given LA's recent PC games...but this game blew me away. The gameplay mirrors that of AoE:AoK, and the graphics are amazing! It uses true soundbites that are well timed and meaningful. It really is going to be worth the money for this fun game.
Rating: Summary: A Must For Any Star Wars Fan... Review: This game is excellent. Based on the Age of Empires II engine, this game is one of the best in real-time strategy. Not to mention that AOE II players will feel right at home with similar hot-keys and navigation. Multiplayer games are exciting and can last for hours. If you like real-time strategy, regardless of whether or not you are a Star Wars fan, you'll love this game. However, being a fan makes it even better. Another awesome game from Lucasarts.
Rating: Summary: darn fine game for what it is... Review: Ya like Star Wars ? Ya like Age of Empires ? Like The Conquerors Expansion ? Well they combined Star Wars with the Engine from AOE and BLAM ya got a fun game. No real suprises here, just think of The Conquerors with less civilizations and the Star Wars Universe. The Star Wars MAPS like Hoth, Tattooine, Yavin IV, are Very cool and a lot of fun to play. It's a cool game for what it is.
Rating: Summary: its gonna be awesome!!!!!!!1 Review: this game looks to be one of the best, sweetest games ever for PC. Its a must have for any star wars or RTS fan.
Rating: Summary: Pass This One By... Review: A game little more than an AOK (Age of Kings) mod. Counterstrike took Half-life farther than this one takes AOK. Here's why its bad: 1. AoK Engine (Dated, took no progrmmaing) 2. Graphics are TERRIBLE. When you have a guy move his feet stay in the same position. 3. Imbalance, planes are terrible everything can be destryoed by 1 massed unit. Everyone picks the same "civilization" 4. Star Wars Name. This may seem like a good thing, but it show unoiginality, and will sell millions of copies just because of the name...
Rating: Summary: Looking Good Review: All the previoous reviews talk simply about how the game looks, system requirements, game engines, and other esthetic thing that make a good game. No one talks about the gameplay, though. I have played the demo, and let me tell you, it plays pretty darn good. The sys requirements are low, and no special hardware is needed. Yes, it runs on the same engine as AOK, but it is more an improvement on AOK than a detriment to it. The demo is great and I believe the fullversion will be a must buy.
Rating: Summary: 'GALACTIC BATTLEGROUNDS' not bad at all Review: Ensemble Studios, creators of the classic Age of Empires series, have proven themselves again with a real-time strategy game that anybody in the galaxy can agree on now with "Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds'. It would seem that "Starcraft" has been at the helm of the sci-fi themed real-time strategy genre for some time now, but with the release of "SW:GB", the rules may change a little bit, and Blizzard may certainly have a run for it's money. Having played the demo of SW:GB, I can only speculate what the full version will be like, but from where I stand now, it looks promising. The game play is very engaging, almost as much as Age of Empires II. The developers have really taken their time to tap into every facet of the Trilogy, and that's another thing that makes the game fun, it's familiar and interesting to even the heaviest Star Wars fan. Not only are the battles faught on the ground, but in the air with TIEs and X-WINGs. The excitement and energy of SW:GB derives directly from Trilogy itself! The only real detrement I found in the game was the movements of some of the characters, they didn't look very natural. But this is definitely excusable. The gameplay makes up for that. I've already pre-ordered this game, and mind you, I'm a busy college guy, but I'm very anxiously awaiting the release of the full version of the game, it aught to be something else, or atleast cause "a great disturbance in the Force". Pre-order yours today!
Rating: Summary: WIll this game be that great? Review: This game as you already know looks alot like Age of Empires 2. Now this means that the game engine will be good, but will the game be good? It's hard to take 1 very good game like Age Of Empires 2 and duplicate it, and simply change the units from mideval units to Futuristic Star Wars units. This will work, but the game won't be as good, even when you use the same game Engine as Age of Empires 2 As Force commander got good reviews, but after the game came out, people started giving it bad reviews.
Rating: Summary: This game will rock your world! Review: Though it has yet to come out, this game should be game of the year! I wish I could give this game more than 5 stars! I am a huge RTS fan and of course I love AOK. :) This game has taken all of what is awesome about AOK and kept it, all of what AOK could have tweaked and improved it. Then it has taken a gigantic step forward --- UNIQUE civs, Star Wars landscapes, Star Wars units, unique features (air units!.., submerged units!..), low system specs, on and on. This game is accessible to anyone - Star Wars fan, AOK fan, RTS fan, gamer. Trust me when I say - this is a wise buy, a must buy, the game we've all been craving! My deepest congratulations and gratitude to the Director for his insight, follow through and for thinking of us fans! :)
