Rating: Summary: Just Watch the Show Review: I've never revised a review before, but I felt I had to this time. First off, do not think that the requirement listed on the package are all that's required for an enjoyable gaming experience here. If you do not have one of the newer video cards, don't even bother. Based on the requirements listed on the box, I should have been able to play this game without a problem. But after dealing with a spinning screen, a game that paused for long stretches of time, and even a screen that went white, I called tech support only to find out (after buying the game) that I needed a newer video card if I really wanted to play. Even after downloading and installing a few drivers provided by Legacy Interactive, I couldn't get it to run as it was supposed to.Then there is the trial section. At least during the investigative half, you can pause the game or walk away from it for a while, and you have plenty of opportunities to save your game. Save BEFORE you go to trial, and if you think you're going to be distracted DON'T go to trial. Save your game, go live your life and come back to it later. Because once you're in trial phase, you can't save or quit the game until that phase of the trial is over. And again, if you don't have a newer video card, you'll be frustrated when you do get to trial because the 3D animation be jerky and will skip to such a degree that you will inevitably miss some of the testimony of the defense witnesses and some of the defense attorney's questions. (And you can't object to what you don't hear. Not effectively anyway.) I played through to the end of the trial phase, and all the way to the verdict just once, because I wanted finish at least one game. And I then uninstalled the game and got rid of it. If I want the "Law and Order experience" I'll catch the show itself on television.
Rating: Summary: tech support Review: I've played alot of games, and I just had to say that I think that the customer support on this game is very good. I had problems installing it, went to the Legacy Interactive website and got help with my problems right away, had to update some drivers. The game is really fun, but challenging, so I've been back to the website multiple times for hints. So far I've spent about 20 hours as Lenny Briscoe's partner, am now starting the trial portion. Overall, I've had a very good experience with the game.
Rating: Summary: Best Game Ever! Review: It is a good game, interesting like the show. It's bad because it has a short time limit and freezes up every once in a while. But I would recomend it to Law & Order fans.

Rating: Summary: Challenging and very Entertaining! Review: Law and Order: Dead on the Money is one the best role playing games I have played in a long time. It reminds me a little bit of the good old times when Sierra's Police Quests were around. However, this games requires a bit more thinking and investigating to get through. Its one of those games when you get stuck you don't want to exit the game and move on to the next one. You try to go back and figure out how to advance in the case. The game is really entertaining. I've spent three to four days trying to solve the case and a few more on the courtroom trial. When you play it really feels like you are inside one of the Law & Order shows. Their online demo really gives you a good taste for the game. They graphics and sound is really great. I had no problem installing and running the game on the Windows XP system. It is a really good value for the money. I hope Legacy Interactive will come up with more Law & Order games such as this! I've really enjoyed playing the game. It actually has a good and realistic plot, unlike most of the other games out there. Throughout the course of the game things actually start to make sense and with your good investigation the case unfolds itself. If you like this game genre you definitely will not be disappointed.

Rating: Summary: awesome! Review: most fun i've ever had with a computer game. a must-have for the cult of law and order fans out there!
Rating: Summary: Does this game ever work? Review: My husband gave me this game along with a brand new top of the line computer with an upgraded gaming chip for Christmas. I was a bit worried after reading the reviews from people that weren't able to get this game to run fully, but I convinced myself that it would work fine for me because of the capabilities of my new system. Wrong! I couldn't see anything but black screens on the evidence and precinct scenes. I followed all of the instructions on the Legacy site for fixing the problem, but the problem actually got worse instead of better! This game seemed like it could be neat; the question is whether anyone will ever find out!
Rating: Summary: Wow - just what I needed Review: My wife just got me this game for my birthday knowing I'm a hard-core L&O fan. It was great! I couldn't stop playing. It was so nice feeling like you're actually investigating side by side with Briscoe. I only wish this game was packed with more episodes. To be honest, some of the puzzles were a little too hard for me and I had to get some hints from the Legacy Interactive web site. Nevertheless - it kept me going and I had a lot of fun.
Rating: Summary: 2**'s only because I Love "Law & Order." The CD? THE FREEZE Review: Recently purchased this item since I am such a Law & Order fan, the idea of actually "trying to solve a case" via CD ROM would be fun, challenging, and worth the time, $$$ and effort, entertainment-wise. Yes, I have every compatible necessecity, so this is just my experience with this program. The program was easily installed, but once "the games began," it took forever and ever and ever for the game to move and navigate. Everything took too long to download, time "ticked" away to solve the case, but more time was spent waiting for images to display than for us to interact. And the kicker? Each attempt at the game (4x) ended by the entire system freezing without even getting 1/4 of the way through the game regardless of whether or not we "saved" each completed aspect of the game! We finally gave up and returned the game, because while the saving value of the CD ROM is that it is "Law & Order," if others have similar experiences to mine, this game is certainly not worth owning just for the name (unless one collects L&O goodies). Give it a try, by all means; and if one completes the game without incident, great! I hope it was fun!!!
