Rating: Summary: A game fit for gods! Review: This is one of the best games I have played. I don't know how it only got 3 stars. My favorit part of the game is that you get your own pet. you also have 2 advisers, and your god. so you see this is the best game on earth!
Rating: Summary: You are God Review: This is the best computer game I have ever played!!!!!Whether you want to save a population from starvation, or just see how far you can throw a villager, the world is your's.
Rating: Summary: Black & White... has some gray in it too Review: This game is great visually and the game play is spectacular. But everything happens way to slowly. It takes time to conquer land and sometimes it gets a little overboard with things to do. I guess that is the drawback to being a god. If you have alot of time on your hands then buy the game. If not, don't even bother. You will need alot of time to play the game.
Rating: Summary: Black and White Review: This is truly a one of a kind game. the chalenges are unique. game play is astounding, story line is everchanging. Bravo on a job well done.
Rating: Summary: My opinion about this game!! Review: In my opinion. Black and White has to be one of the most exiting and thriling game i've played. I feel everyone should have a cahnce to experience the thrill of being god for a day! I give this game 5 stars!!!
Rating: Summary: So close, yet so far... Review: Boy, I really, really wanted to like this game. It has SO much potential. Incredible graphics (among the best I've ever seen in a game). Excellent sound and voice acting. Great concept. But boy does it fall flat. I gave this game a good solid week of playing, and I just couldn't get into it. Here's why: 1)The interface!! Despite lots of practice, I could never get 100% comfortable with the whole grabbing/twisting/zooming mouse work. I ended up setting it up for keyboard use, and that helped a little but not much. This really, really made playing the game frustrating. 2) Stupid "quests." I got tired of having to wait 5 minutes for my "creature" to walk all the way across the island to pick up something. Or slowly moving around every inch of the island just to pick up a sheep that I couldn't find. The leash interface is just stupid. 3) Too much micromanaging. I could never get my villagers to do enough on their own. You either have to spend all your time micromanaging them, or all your time training your creature. It's impossible to do both well. Every time I was building housing for my villagers or giving them food, my creature would eat one of them or poop on a farm or something. 4) The creature "training" is simply not fun. I would give him feedback but he never really learned from his mistakes. You have to give him the feedback IMMEDIATELY after he does something in order for it to register, which essentially means you're watching the creature at all times. And of course, if you're doing that, then you're not micromanaging the villagers. There were lots more problems as well. I really wanted to like this game. It is one of the big disappointments of the year. If you're into resource management games you'd be much better off with Alpha Centauri or even on of the Settlers games. Buy Baldur's Gate 2 or Planescape Torment instead.
Rating: Summary: Mine's not buggy Review: Black and White worked perfectly out of the box on my computer. I have had no technical problems at all except for internet connectivity with AOL, but AOL is horrible, anyway.I think it's a really fun program. Teaching your creature things is fun and intuitive. See if you can try the game out on your rig to see if you will have problems. The only complaint I have is that it's starting to get a bit repetitive because you have to take over many villages. However, you can impress them in many different ways, so it never gets boring.Without the bugs I've been hearing about, it's a really fun game, and a fine addition to my gaming library. I feel sorry for those who've had technical problems, but there have been none for me. Well, I'm off to unleash my creature on an enemy village and impress them with some heavy-duty lightning. Fun Fun Fun! See ya!
Rating: Summary: Not Too Hot Review: This game is a downright sorry excuse for a game. The graphics are great, but the game play is just plain lousy. You spend most of your time watching over your villagers because they can't do anything for themselves. The only reason I even gave this game one star was because of the graphics and it is fun to throw people around, which is one of the privileges of being the god-like character you are in the game. Don't waste your money you'll be disappointed as I was. Try buying something worthwhile like a Command and Conquer game, Age of the Empires, or Warcraft.
Rating: Summary: Let's give Lionhead a hand. Review: First of all, all of these last bad reviews were the results of people understandably angry but unnecessarily impatient about a patch for Black & White (which, I might add, is out NOW). This retaliation spawned from the B&W (Black & White) Message Boards and into Amazon.com because of a post by one who will go unnamed. Anyway, props to Lionhead for making the greatest game of our time. Let me put it this way--YOU ARE GOD. You are worshipped by villagers, you own a Creature, make miracles and all sorts of Godly stuff. This game also takes contacts from you address book and puts them in the game. Similarly, it has an e-mail system and an option that downloads your closest city's weather and puts it in-game. Oh yeah, and you can be Good or Evil. Just buy it already.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Great! Review: This game is wonderful. Some people say that it gets boring, but that was not the case for me . I found it was very entertaining. You should get it. The only annoying part in it for me is the part where the three men sing for bread, wood, and meat. Kinda dumb. But otherwise it was great!
