Summary: My true opinion
Review: I see that a lot of other people have left reviews that tell of the features of the game, not what they actually think. This is an ok expansion pack, but really doesn't add anything particularly special to the game. Sure you can go on vacation, but there isn't that much to do while on vacation, I think it gets rather boring. You can even bring a friend on vacation, but can't control them so the friend just gets cranky.
If you are choosing between this and another expansion pack, don't pick this one!! I chose it over hotdate and wish I hadn't bothered to get it at all! WASTE OF MONEY!!

Summary: Good game, but not necessary
Review: As with all sims games, this is a great one, packed with new objects, interactions, and possibilities. It is, however, very similar to hot date. You go to a new area, .. It is so overpriced just to get there and its some [expensive] night[s] after that, your sims spending money goes very fast. There are some new objects, but nothing you really need. The metal detector is fun, but you get approx. a boot or [very little money]for about 2 hours of walking around. I like the carnival games, but the prizes you can get, some of them dont even fit on the soviner rack. I have to just carlessly plop them on the floor when I would rather display them for all to see. With the addition of Unleashed, I find I never use vacation' additives.

Summary: Finally, they get to go out of the house!
Review: I bought the Sims Vacation a couple of week ago, and it's very well done. There are many many new objects to chose from and the vacation lots are awesome. Only problems are that the triple time does not go on when your sims are sleeping, and you cannot build and buy while on vacation with your sims. Good news to those who have or will get the Sims Unleashed! You CAN take your pets on vacation, but not in downtown. It's a great addition to the Sims. One of my favourite parts is the cool music while on vacation. TIP: Do not delete vacation telephones, you cannot get them back! Anyway, you do not have to be any kind of a gamer to enjoy this game. Awesome job Maxis, keep up the good work!

Review: I thought the vacation feature would be cool but the only problem is the L O A D I N G time. Otherwise excellent.

Review: Sims Vacation is a great game! Your sims get to go on wacation. You can make a town with hotels! If you get it you will love it so go to a store and buy it! I hope that this review encorages you to buy it! I hope you like our review!

Summary: A real disappointment
Review: I feel like I wasted 30 plus dollars on this expansion pack. I think it is really boring. First off, so what you can go on vacation. The lots are all too similar. Sure, you can make your own lots and download (FREE) stuff from the web. But all it does is boost up your interest for a few weeks. These expansion packs are basically money making schemes that provide little punch to the consumer. If you have to choose between HOT DATE and VACATION get HOT DATE. I think I will save my $ and get future expansion packs when they get cheaper. (maybe) It is about time Maxis reduces the price of House Party and Living Large. How greedy are they at EA? They have the Sims packs, SimsOnline and PS2 game coming out. Try reducing your prices on some of the older packs. All in all, after 2 years, I am bored with THE SIMS. Vacation did little to change that.

Summary: Just more of the same.
Review: The only reason to buy this expansion pack is that you need it in order to download many of the great new, fan-made objects you'll want from the multitude of great Fan-made sites for The Sims. Things like, new skins, heads, and objects of all kinds which you cannot download and use in your game without the "Vacation" expansion pack. For that reason only, it is a "must have".

Review: The sims Vacation is a lot of fun but the bad thing is that i gets old after a while. if you want a game that you will be playing all the time then get Diablo 2.

Review: The Sims Vacation is just a candy coated renditition of the original. I really don't see the fun in the vacations. This is nothing like real life as the developers dub this a person simulator. All you do is stay at home and add on to your house. Now in this candy coated version of the past what is it? Three Sim games you get to go on boring, un interaactive environments.
