Rating: Summary: What a HOOT!!! Review: I absolutely love this game. The worst thing about playing was the continual reminder that people were complaining about the litter in my park...so, I kept hiring handymen to clean it up...Finally...after about 10 hours into the game...I found the trash bins in the accessory panel...duh...once that got cleared up...I had an uninterupted ball! Truly a great fun game.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: Being a huge fan of RCT1, I was thoroughly disappointed with this version. Whatever improvements or additions I was anticipating turned out not to be exciting and I actually found RCT2 less absorbing than RCT1. One of the most tedious items I found was having all the scenary remain if you demolish a ride that you built including scenary. In addition, most of the challenges in the various scenarious in RCT2 are long and boring. I found I spent a large amount of time detangling walkways and rearranging the scenary included in the scenarious so my visitors would not die of thirst and hunger and I would not have to spend the bulk of my $ on maintenance. I am retiring RCT2 and passing on the expansion pack until they seem to figure this one out.
Rating: Summary: Addictive fun Review: This is another addition to the Roller Coaster Tycoon Series and it rocks. I have all the previous ones and once i saw this I knew I had to get it. If you have Roller coaster tycoon already, You should buy this game!!WHY?you ask #1 stack scenery to build buildings, and really make a ride cool. #2 many more rides and scenery(I have built a rollercoaster with a top speed of over 110 mph and the guest will actually go on it now that is crazy) #3 more music for your rides to play. One downer is it takes so long to load and save and start up. Plus There is no Mega Park like on the previous versions. There are additions to this game to buy. You can also download more parks off of rollercoastertycoon.com on the internet. If you are new to the series I would recomend you buy this game,it blows all the other ThemPark sims away. Before I got into the Series I bought Sim Theme Park for PC.It was fun for a while but after you get many things going in your park it gets sooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow!!!Buy RCT 2 it is highly addictive. A nice addition to this game is you can create your own senerios. I made about 5 and then on the 6th one I finally got the paths right to the enterance of the park. I would recomend that you be good at techinical video games or you might not get this for a while or if a person is to young too figure it out. My sister is just getting it now after a couple months of playing. If you good at technical games like me you will get how to play after 10 min. If you like simcity buy this game. I wish they would come out with one of these where you can design parking spaces and how guests can get to your park. You can make strets in your park when you make a scenerio but there are no cars that drive on it. but that doesn't really matter much at all because this game rules!!!
Rating: Summary: incredible Review: This game is abosutely incredible. You can do all kinds of stuff. Like when you build a rollercoaster I got my 'coaster going 188 mph. The scenery is awesome. You can also start out on scenerios that are easy, challenging, real (like six flags magic mountain), or expert parks. Which ever one you choose it is absolutely great. It has been worth the money, did I mention that you can change the enterance of the rollercoaster? There is all those little things that make the game first class. It is about ten times better than the first one. All I can say is BUY IT?
Rating: Summary: Roller Coaster Tycoon Is the Best!! Review: I have played Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 and it is so much fun!!! .... If that doesn't tell you how much I LOVE to play Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, I don't know what else to tell you!!
Rating: Summary: THE BEST GAME! Review: Oh my god! This is the gratest game ever created, but only for those who know the "tricks of the trade" such as me. To learn these tricks, I sugguest buying Prima's Official Strategy for Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. Even if you choose to not get the strategy guide, you will still have at least four stars of fun trying to build a good theme park. This is som much better than the first one, so don't let the fact that the first one sucks be the deciding factor in your choice of buying this item. You can do almost anything in this game if you put your mind to it. GET THIS GAME!!!...
Rating: Summary: A Step in the Wrong Direction Review: No matter how hard I try, I can't play RCT2 more than 15 minutes before switching back to the original RCT and its' expansion games. If I didn't know better, I would have thought this was a pre-version of the original RCT. Despite having a PC with well beyond the system requirements, RCT2 is slow to load and save games, the graphics quality doesn't look as good as the original, and overall, there's no major new features- more like modifications, and I've encountered a couple of bugs. It's really disappointing that this game doesn't stand up to it's 4-year old predecessor which I still love to play.
Rating: Summary: What ARE you talking about? This is a great game Review: Okay, so this game may lack graphical improvments and what-not, but any well expierinaced gamer all knows the same thing, "WHO CARES ABOUT GRAPHICS?" Seriously, the graphics were already outdated in the original RCT and it was one of the best games of the year, and still is one of the mosr addicting and involving games ever. This new one takes the original to a new level, maybe not graphiclly, but in many other features, including making custom scenarios, having unlimited money to make any sort of ride in build mode, completley editing yor coaster with cusom parts, you name it, along with tons of ultra fancy added features. This game rocks, even though it is kind've a expansion pack, it is very entertaining and I think that graphics have nothing to do with gameplay, proving that this is a great game.
Rating: Summary: Really great game, just a little confusing Review: I just got RCT2 today and it's great so far! The only problem is that it's a little more confusing than Zoo Tycoon. I had to read the owner's manual for some things. It's also a LOT harder than Zoo Tycoon. The guests are a lot more needy, but they are less annoying than the Zoo Tycoon people. Example: Zoo Tycoon people: "I'm hungry. I'm thirsty. I don't like this zoo at all; I'm going to an amusment park." Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 people: "Wow! A new ride is being built! This park is so nice and clean. The Bumper Cars ride was great!" See the difference??? With RCT2 you can make your own custom roller coaster, too! And you can name it anything you want: The Phantom, Insane Twister, Psyclone, e.c.t. That's cool. The graphics could have used a tad bit more tampering with(just a tad bit!) and the music that you can accompany the rides with is great! RCT2 take a little long to load, though. And one more thing; this game has all senario games so you can't do freeform game like in Zoo Tycoon. Oh well. It's still a rad, awesome MUST have game!!!
Rating: Summary: As good as the first (if not better) Review: This is actually a good game. Everyone else is complaning about install problems and drivers but I havent had a single problem and besides, if you get an error and it wont uninstall, just format the hard drive :) There are a TON of new shops and coasters. The ability to stack scenery allows you to built nice scenery for your coasters and increase the exitement rating. If you liked the first, buy the second. One thing is the Six Flags junk. Who really cares? I mean really, all it is is a bunch of pre built coasters that noone goes on cause there "Too intense for me!" and a bunch of pre built parks that have WAY too many trees and WAY to much scenery. However, you can ignore the huge six flags advertisement. Yes, this whole game is one BIG advertisement for six flags.
