Rating: Summary: Great Game, i just love it hear, i truly LOVE IT! Review: i know that some thought that the first RCT game was good, but woah! Nelly! Hold onto your seatbelts, cause RCT 2 is as good as ever. UP UP AND AWAY, as Spongebob would put it! I love the graphics, cause they are out of this world. I also love it when the little dudes jump up and down! HA hA HA, very funny. IF you like computers as much as i do, get this game. IT is the bestest game EVER!
Rating: Summary: A good game, as expected Review: Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, the follow-up to the best selling and critically acclaimed game, Roller Coaster Tycoon, succeeds in all areas, with Six Flags parks for you to add on to, or build a Six Flags park from scratch. An added treat is the scenario and coaster editor, where you can build your own roller coaster, and it will appear when you want tp build it in your park. The thing I do miss is the orginal parks from the first three. But new rides and parks are always fun and challenging, and this is no different.
BUY IT NOW! YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!
Rating: Summary: happy yet dissapointed Review: i like the game but it seems that this should have been an update not a new edition. with that said i like the new tools editor so that i can discover all of the avaiable booths and rides. the colors revert back to strange colors on my system but maybe i should go to the website and download a patch i dunno but it is definately not true colors. i dont like that the predesigned rides come with scenery and que lines so when i make a mistake and have to demolish the ride i end up spending 2 or 3 minutes to delete the que lines and scenery that came with it
Rating: Summary: I'm Addicted Already! Review: This game is great although it is not an advancement over the old game. It plays exactly like the old. It is neat how all the scenarios are visible. You don't have to beat one to get a hidden one. There is also a scenario editor and a coaster editor. The coaster editor though was obviously created to stand up against Disney's Ultimate Ride. While it is great that there is a scenario editor a little more free form would be nice. You can't build things like houses and place buildings like there are in some of the scenarios. All you can really do is decide where you want your entrance to be, how much land you want to own, and lay out roads. All in all, though, this is a fabulous package for any fan of Rollercoaster Tycoon!
Rating: Summary: It's out and it's good, but... Review: ...afer all this time I'm very disappointed there were NO improvements to the original interface. We have the same hard-to-use landscaping tools (just try digging underground); the same weak zoom (only one level) and the same 90 scene rotation. These problems make building things very difficult and, since there's still no undo feature, you can lose a ton of money if you make any mistakes. Example: if you place an object, like a $12,000 coaster, you're money is gone immediately. If you find you need to rotate it or move it one square...you can't. You have to demolish it (and get a PARTIAL refund) then build another one for another $12,000. RTC2 is the exact same game as the original, with a few new bells and whistles. Lovers of the original (like me) will want it for the new parks and scenarios, but will be disappointed in the lack of improvements. New users will, of course, be thrilled because Roller Coaster Tycoon is one of the best games ever produced. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is, again, no improvements to the old program.
Rating: Summary: Thank God there's a new RCT but... Review: I've played RCT1 for 24/7 in the last few years so it's not questionable that I'm one of the million RCT fanatics who anxiously waited for the RCT2 release. However, I must admit that RCT2 is just like an EP to RCT1. For starters, the graphics haven't improved. They're still the same;not quite sharp, not zommable, less colors, etc. I'm not an expert when it comes to the techincal graphic aspects of the game but from a player's point of view, I must say that the graphics are not going anywhere. The funniest "feature" in the game was placing respective names in the guests and not changing the gender characters. Lolz, now we've got some girl names in a guy's body. Next time,RCT3 should feature different characters- i.e. male, female, children, old timers, fat, skinny, whatever whatever and not just the same dull guy figure. The sounds are still familiar- those cheers, laughs though they have added sounds in the circus, etc. The animation is still the same- dry, walking guests with a few additions- guests watching a new ride being built (?), guests watching other customers riding on roller coasters & guests taking pictures. Sadly, these few additions won't help. Gampeplay is quite the same (with some new challenging scenarios) Quite easy, quite taxing. And the biggest disappointment: There should be an option wherein you can create a theme park with all the possible kinds of rides/sceneries/stalls. Heck, they should also have added the rides from RCT1 and from the other EPs. The highlights on the game that I can possible think are the several new rides, attractions & coasters (first aid station, sandwich shop, hat stall, circus & others) My Verdict: RCT2 is still fun, still has he same "old gameplay" and it is still addictive. But, RCT2 is only for the die-hard RCT1 buffs and other simulation fans. If you're a newbie, I suggest that you should check out first RCT1 (Gold Edition is a good pick). If you've got enough money buying RCT2 won't hurt you. If you're broke, don't mind saving your cash for this game. Save it for the real theme parks.
Rating: Summary: dissapointing Review: i just got it today and its not what i expected. Its not that theres anything wrong with it but for the rct1 gamer you wont like it. Its really not that different from rct1. sure better graphics and a couple new rides but it still has most of the same problems as rct1 and its expansions. AI are just as stupid and its still lacking the game engine to recreate a real park. i was all hyped for it but now im very dissapointed. Still its on [...] i say u giv it a shot
Rating: Summary: OH MY!!! More than what was expected... Review: This is the game of games in today's PC. I thought RCT I was good. This is so much better and gives you the freedom you need to create or manage SIX FLAGS Coasters and Parks. I could not get off of it last night......this is and will be the greatest in my house for a while...
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: The changes to this version of RCT are most impressive. I used to work at an amusment park (many years ago) and the new ways to design the rollercoasters is so very reaslistic that it is almost more of an actual engineering design program than a game. (One can now create block sections of track with safety brakes which is used on real rollercoasters to keep trains from coming near one another.) Yet, the game still allows a more simple level of play for those not interested in the more detailed design. Better graphics, smoother operation, less glitches....will most definitely become a best seller.
Rating: Summary: Solid fun but too much like the original Review: RCT2 is definitely fun but too much of the original game crept in to this sequel. It's really more like an expansion pack than a sequel. If you were looking for something novel and new, this is not it. Think of it as more of a polished version. It will look and feel very familiar with few twists and changes. I'm enjoying it but not thrilled by it. The excitement that the original RCT brought is not in this game. RCT2 just smacks of expansion packs to come. I would give a solid 3 out of 5 stars. If you don't have any of the RCT games, I would buy the RCT Gold ahead of this one. You will get much more bang for your buck plus there are tons of add-on's to download from the internet.
