Review: I love this game! It's funny, up-to-date, and top-of-the-line. Only 13 questions as opposed to the previous versions' 21, but still a must-have!

Review: I tell you these games just get better and better, the themes are a defenite improvement although be careful if you plan to play this on a mac system the play can get jerky....other than that a great game indeed.

Summary: Great for anyone who loves 'Jack'
Review: I've liked Jack ever since the first one. Recently (last Easter) I got the Irreverent Collection for my birthday and this was included in it. I could tell it was a different Jack from the moment I saw the cover with the upside down Jack. Since I got and installed it on Easter, I was in for a surprise- when I started playing the game, it wished me a happy Easter and informed me that that was one of the many cookies the programmers had put into the game. I thought that was pretty damn cool. It's more fast paced, gritty and lots and lots of fun.

Summary: The best JACK yet.
Review: JACK 4 is by far the best JACK made to date. Instead of picking a category, you have to quickly pick the highest dollar amount you can, then they tell you the category. Screwing has never been better. Instead of just forcing someone to answer the question, you force someone to answer after you blast the screen with screws and cover up the question. Roadkill is very similar to the Jack Attack - but a lot more fun and more difficult. Jack Bingo is great; you have to pick the first letter of the word they're giving you the clue to. And they still have 2 classics: Gibberish Question and Dis-or-Dat. I HATE GIBBERISH QUESTIONS, and JACK 4 didn't make me like them anymore. I love Dis-or-Dat, though. And Dis-or-Dat is really sweet when you get over $10,000 per question (I'm not joking). JACK 4 is more intense and way more competitive. And having only 13 questions is great because those 21 question games can feel like they're dragging on sometimes. Also, in JACK 1, 2, & 3, you kind of knew who was gonna win by the time you got to question 16 or 17. Not so in Jack 4. I was playing with my sister, and she racked up more points in one question then I did in the entire game. If you love JACK, you must get JACK 4.

Hosts Cookie and Schmitty are my faves! The game's hilarity ensues further when Buzz (host of YDKJ vol.2) tries to make his way to the top to host the show. I'm looking forward to more YDKJ products in the future.

Summary: YDKJ, Revemped.
Review: Some people thought that this would be the same Jack Game as all the others, one host and categories. But they were dead wrong. This YDKJ changed the entire universe of the game forever. New Question types include Roadkill, Jack Bingo, and a new way to screw your neighbor called FlakJack. Nate, Guy, Cookie, and Schmitty all host it at some point. Buzz is limited to being sent to the bottom countless times. Every game starts off with a Moral Dilemma question that whisked you to different episode "floors" in some Jack-topian high-rise. It's about as tall as the Empire State Building. The Jack Trivia Buiding, who ever thought of that?Instead of just choosing a category, you now choose the VALUE, that's right, you heard correctly, of the question. It's the best jack ever! Ever!

Summary: Some improvements, Some not
Review: The Ride is the most fast paced of the series, and it's been designed with a hip new look. A little more urban, a little more dangerous. The sleek design works especailly well if you're already familiar with the You Don't Know Jack games-- it works because it's a play on what came before and it's novel, but sometimes the graphics are just busy. The Jack Attack choices zip around the screen and they're distractinly hard to read. The themed games are a fun change, but the down side is that you no longer have a choice of question categories. Choosing the category allows for some strategy and is much more fun than what has replaced it. Now you try to catch the largest dollar figure as the numbers spin by. They go too quickly to actually see and select one. I gave up and just hit the button and let a figure come up at random. I would like to see this improvement disappear in future episodes. The new type of question-- Roadkill-- is great, fast paced and challenging. I miss the three ways from volume 3. I don't think there are any "impossible questions" in this volume either. Instead of getting rid of types of questions, I would like to see all of the games incorporate as many varieties as possible. Instead of having "gibberish questions" come up every time as they did in volume 1, some games would bring up three ways, some would bring up roadkill etc. So while I liked the novelty of the theme shows, I think overall the random games are more fun to play because of the variety of possible questions and the ability to choose the category. One nice touch in The Ride is that during the elevator rides, the "elevator operator" who chats with you reads the date and time from your computer and can say "good morning" or "why are you all alone on a Saturday night." I played the game by myself on February 14th and got a comment about playing computer games by myself on Valentines Day. Nice touch.

Summary: JACK Supreme, no other JACK game is better.
Review: The Ride is without a doubt, the best game in the YDKJ game cannon. With a new gritty look, an almost completely revamped and terrific soundtrack, and jokes and hidden soundbites GALORE, this game puts a new, fresh face on the YDKJ trivia games with style and panache. Old question types make return apperances, my favorite question, the impossible question is gone, but there are new ones to take it's place. The Roadkill question for example gives you a pair of items that have a certain relation, ring in when the joining item shows up on screen to collect the money. There is also JACK Bingo and a new way to screw opponents! (For non JACK players, this means making your opponent answer a difficult question when they don't want to.) Ring in, hit the S key repeatedly to blast the screen with screws and force a fateless player to answer the question with a screw covered screen! By the way, instead of a fixed dollar amount each question, you can earn as much as say $229 to even $12,699 on some of the quesitons! This definetely helps keep the game interesting and more fun. Looping questions are dealt with by having you answer the moral dilemma at the begining of the game. Your choice determines the path of questions you recieve for trivia glory. All five of the hosts from the previous games are present, Buzz-the surfer dude host-is thankfully limited to cameos. You even get to see glimpses of them when you reach the very end. THE RIDE is without a doubt one of the best games I have ever played and has earned a permanent spot on my hard drive. Good Fun!
