Summary: Family Game Night lives on!
Review: As a fan of the Family Game Night board game, I was excited to see the CD-Rom version of CLUE! We installed it over our network at home and the game is great to play that way! You can play it solo, too - with the computer taking on two other 'players' with a choice of three skill levels. All the elements are in place here for an entertaining evening with the family, friends (over the Net even!), or by yourself!

A word of warning: The suspected crime is reenacted as players guess whodunit each round. While the graphics are beautifully done, they are accompanied by spooky music, thunder and lightning which make the reenactments a bit startling and probably scary for little ones. There is no blood or gore involved by any means, just the 'suspect' in the 'room' using the 'weapon' from the perspective/point of view of the player(you, not your game piece) as the victim. Perhaps I'm overacting in light of the abundance of video game violence out there for children already! The violence of this game is nothing compared to much of what I've seen in Nintendo/Sega/Play Station video games! All the same, I'll hold back one star in the name of Violence-Free entertainment.

A patch, which I recommend downloading, is available for the CD-Rom.

Summary: Excellant graphics but slow at times
Review: Clue has really great graphics and is a lot more fun than the board game but it does tend to get stuck at times and be a bit slow after the computers turn. I'd highly recommend this game if you loved Clue as a child. It also would be great to introduce older children to this board game.

Summary: Great Game
Review: Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion is based on the famous board game. Clue has been a family favorite for over fifty years, and now it is available on CD. This game has VERY good graphics. The music is pretty nice, too. Each charactar looks almost LIFELIKE. After someone suggests, you will get a little surprise. There are "suggestion movies". For example, if you suggest Mrs. White with the revolver, a short movie will play of Mrs. White shooting the revolver. The first time I saw these movies, I was freeked out. I got used to them... The knife looks like it really went into YOUR flesh, and so on... For your convenience, there are "Auto-Notes". The computer will take notes for you. For instance, if you are Mr. Green, and you have the Dining Room, Hall, Ms. Scarlet, Rope, Mrs. Peocock, and Candlestick, you will fine small green squares next to that item in the list and a check mark next to it. You can click on the colored square to change the color, likewise with the check. It can be an X and other symbols. You can also write short notes about each item such as "Miss Scarlet might be the killer", or "The Lounge was the murder scene."

Overall, this game is VERY good and VERYVERY fun.
Thanks.

BUY IT NNOOWW!!

Summary: Unless you are patient don't bother!!
Review: I have been a huge Clue fan since I was little. I was so excited to see this cd-rom. The first game I played it froze in the middle. The next 6 attempts the same thing happened. I got very frustrated and went searching on the internet for the web pages listed on the manual. I downloaded the 'patch', rebooted my combuter, this time the game lasted longer than the previous 7 attempts. Finally I turned everything that was running in the background on my computer, except for the two basic programs you need systray and explorer and the game ran fine for 6 games in a row. (I have to admit when it runs like it should it is fun.) The seventh game I was almost at the end of the game when it crashed the computer. No matter what I did the 'butler's voice' would only start working about 3 turns into the game. So unless you have the time to turn every program off everytime, don't waste your money- stick with the classic board version!!

Summary: Pretty Good Game
Review: I planned to give it to the Niece, but I keep playing it! When a character suggests a murder scenario, you see the dinner guest come after you with that weapon! You complete your 'scorecard' in colors so its a lot easier than the board game cards. If you dont have 3 people around, you play against novice or expert computer players. There's a slight delay after each player's move, but no more than kids around a coffee table. I cant stop Playing!

Summary: Probably the best board game conversion yet
Review: I was actually the Lead Programmer for this game we did for Hasbro Interactive. Despite my direct involvement, I think it is the best board game coversion of any of Hasbro's titles. Even though it was released in 1998, I am glad to see how many people are still enjoying it. I myself was impressed at the art and details that the artists managed to put into the graphics for this game. The sound effects and music were also effectively used to evoke an eerie, Hitchcock-like atmosphere. I'm certain you'll enjoy this title if you decide to buy it (and no, I am not getting royalties on this game!).

Summary: Great Game
Review: Of the four reviews already written for this game, three complained about bugs. BELIEVE THEM. This is the most clunky game I've played in a long time. Here's what happens. When you enter a room, you can leave again, but if someone else enters the room and blocks the door you can't get past them. I've loaded it on three separate computers to see if the problem might be with the computer, but always the same problem. I have never been able to play for longer than 15 minutes without getting trapped. I love the board game, and I was excited about this adaptation, but it's not worth the time it will take you to install, get stuck, and uninstall it.
