Rating: Summary: What happend? Review: Ground Control could have been awesome, but it falls flat onit's face. The version I purchased ... was a complete wash out. It was full of bugs and problems that any gamer does not want to hassle with. There were consist errors in the game itself and don't even try to do multiplayer, you will end up using a few choice words at the computer. Take my advice, buy The Sims, it is far better and full of no bugs. Maxis knows how to put a game together, Sierra does not! Don't let the graphics fool you, Ground Control has too many issues and does not allow for a clean game playing experience. Oh yeah and if you are really looking to buy it be warned, you can only control one side. There is no option to be the "bad guys." Most RTS's allow this. So there it is. Two thumbs down and all that jazz. Don't bother wasting the money or time. ...
Rating: Summary: AWESOME GAME, but..missing something! Review: I loved this game! It took me only 5 days to beat, but I was challenged and the difficulty level was not to severe. This game would have been even better if it had a Command and Conquer type gameplay. Like the building base's and stealth generators etc.. It had really good units thought witch really did make this game. Overall very good game I recommend it..
Rating: Summary: Best RTS to date! Review: If you like RTS games and you like graphic depth then Ground Control is the game for you! It has a lot of stragety, action and lots and lots of graphic quality! You can see the guns recoil from firing, the shells go flying away, and the dirt fly up as the weapons impact the ground. It has a very good camera, you can get right down on the ground of get an airborne view of the battle field.
Rating: Summary: C&C went down the toilet! Review: This is the best game I've played since C&C Red Alert! It's graphics are incredible, you can zoom in on you troops and watch them fight your enemies or command them to use special weapons from a more overhead veiw. The special weapons are awsome! They go from small mordors to nuclears bombs! There is a wide variety of units to command too. They go from marines, to tanks, to airplanes! I've stayed hooked on this game already longer than any other game I have played in my life! So if you are going to bye a RTS game or any other type of game for that matter in the near future bye this one!
Rating: Summary: Buy it. Review: This game is good, and fun. I can play it for a long time. Buy it.
Rating: Summary: This game rocks! Review: I am surprised that the previous reviewer gave this game only two stars. I don't care if you where General Patton himself this game is FUN for the gamer. The detail of the graphics, the battle sounds, the smoothness of the gameplay. If you love action, explosions, war strategy -- you'll love this game. You can get as close to the action as you want which looks really spectacular. Or you can view everything from afar. It all looks good and plays even better. I buy and play lots of PC games -- an average of 3 per month. I have to say that this game is the most impressive I've seen in a while. And I'm not just talking about some demo from the internet.
Rating: Summary: Excelent... Review: This is one of the best RTS games ive ever played i still play the demo at least once a day. The zoom in-and-out feature is the bomb i cant get over how good this game is.
Rating: Summary: Fast, Furious, Fun and Looks Good! Review: I am running the game with a Celeron 300A (no overclocking)with TNT (the first)and yet the game blazes through each mission like no tomorrow. You can zoom in and out, rotate it and elevate it all angles without a drop of sweat. The graphics are great and the game is fast. No tedious micro-management, no resource gathering pain - just plan your attack strategy and send your troops out! Beware Dark Reign 2 !
Rating: Summary: A great game that could have been the best Review: This game has to be the best 3D RTS to date. Even so, there is one big shortcoming that could have made the game the best RTS period. That shortcoming is the absence of an in-game save feature. This is especially annoying when you reach the later games which are long and involved. Hopefully Sierra will release an update to bring this feature into the game. Aside from that, the game is very good with some of the best graphics I've seen and simple yet effective interface based on squads instead of individual units. This is more realistic to real war than other RTS's where you command only one unit at a time. Sound is also well done, with explosions that can be heard and good music. The visual special effects are abundant. A prime example of this is the tracks that units leave in there wake. They even kick up dust to make these tracks. Also bugs are able to be seen in tropical parts of the many missions that are included. These range from simple search-and-destroy missions to escort missions to defense missions. With 30 of these, the game will keep you coming back for more for quite a while. In addition, extensive multiplayer choices allow many different types of games and a special drop-in feature with which you can come into an already ongoing game with your own dropships. In closing, the best thing about this wonderful game is that it is realistic to regular war, unlike most other RTS's out there. The best example of this quality is that there is no resource gathering or base-building (except for sentry guns and radar posts, but that really isn't a base). My suggestion to you is that you go out and buy this game soon to enjoy its many merits.
Rating: Summary: Swedish perfection (lame joke) has never been better Review: For a couple of months ago I read in PC Gamer about a swedish game named Ground Control. I become intrested and visited Massive Enrertainments homepage and got more interested and now, some months later, I've bought it. It's absolutely the best RTS ever, the graphics are stunning, the gameplay was also and the sound effects was almost as 'perfect' as the graphics. In short words: I fell in love with it. I'm not just saying this because it's a swedish game (and I'm a Swede), this game is totally action-filled so you could believe that you're right there in the battlefield. I screamed of excitement while I wasted almost five hours per day with it, the best sound effect was when the missles from the Aerodynes flied past me. The only bad thing is that the briefing is boring and doesn't got the same perfection in the graphics as the rest of the game.
