Rating: Summary: A must have game!! Review: This game is incredible, just play the demo and you'll see what I'm talking about. There is an scenary "ala" Saving Private Ryan, that you will love it. AWESOME!!
Rating: Summary: Best FPS yet.. Review: This game is the next evolution of the Quake III engine and runs so seemless that most peoples' computers will not be able to fully appreciate this game. Coding is excellent, computer generated enemies have the highest level of AI ever seen in FPS. The maps and missions are excellent and require both skill and luck. Levels change with the placement of enemies and power-ups resulting in a game that is both challenging and able to replayed several times. Beautiful graphics including weather and sky texturing that is the best ever developed. Yes, the game is dark and scary for some. But, the game is also set in WW II and in a dark and scary castle. If you want a sunny and happy game, might I recommend Pokemon or Super Mario Brothers. Best yet...It will be hard to beat!
Rating: Summary: Entertaining but lacking Review: This is a decent game, it's fun, you can kill american pigdogs, it's got it all. The only problem is, Day of Defeat...the halflife mod is much more fun, much more developed, it's not at pretty since it's using the ~4 year old halflife engine, but that, in my opinion just proves how versatile and modifiable valve's engine was. DoD has better maps than what I've seen from this game thus far. This is an ok game, but honestly, it looks like DoD done with a budget and bad mappers, I'm still going to buy/play this game, but I'll also continue to play DoD. That's all I have to say
Rating: Summary: Nazi killing is good, but why the Nazi armband? Review: This looks to be a pretty (...) enjoyable FPS, albeit an expensive one. But what is with the Nazi-esque armband that comes with the Collector's Edition? That seems like a deplorable lack of judgment to me. I wonder if they can sell it in Germany... But will I play it? Of course! Great graphics, good netcode, and dead Nazis!
Rating: Summary: Not bad, not great Review: Well, after all the hype, the game is here, and it's not bad. If you like FPS, buy it. The game is dark, and I mean physically. The multiplayer maps seem all to be played at dusk or night, and it can become difficult to see what the heck is going on. It adds to the atmosphere, but my eyes hurt after a couple of hours. If you run into a streak of bad luck, the game gets frustrating quickly. The maps are big, but as a medic or engineer you sometimes run for three minutes looking for action (with selfish lieutenants as teammates who are unwilling to share ammo) only to get killed at first sight....with another 40 second wait until you get back into the fray. Grmmlll...Rearming sites (armories, weapons caches) might be a nice touch in the next version. I love the fact that friendly fire death gives me a chance to vote against someone, and see them kicked for doing it too often! FF makes it a more sophisticated game. It's funny when it happens to yourself; yesterday I threw a grenade over the heads of my teammates, but it hit a door post and flew back in on us killing 5 players. They must have all hit F1 (punishment vote) and I got instantly kicked. Ouch! The single player is ok, but play it on the hardest setting, otherwise it's a simple walk-through. Nonetheless it's pretty much a shoot-everything approach to gaming. It's a nice break from having your butt handed to you by people more skilled than yourself in multiplayer, however. :-)
Rating: Summary: Best Game I've ever played!! Review: Well, what can I say. I've been a fan of 3d-First Person Shooter games ever since the original Wolfenstein 3d back in the day. I'm now 22, and I'm fraggin' away almost just as much. I've played them all (3d FPS games), and I have to say this game steals the crown away from Quake 3. Quake 3 was, ever since it came out, the #1 game in my opinion. This game has just defeated it. It uses the same engine (albeit an enhanced form of it) that Quake 3 uses, but the realism is what really glues you to the screen on this game. I have a DSL connection, I get good ping times and the first time I loaded up the demo, I was amazed at how, you're sitting there loading up your weapon, standing behind a cement pillar on the beach of Normandy (the demo looks like the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan), and you can see the tracers of bullets whizzing by you. As you run towards another cement pillar, the Nazi's tripod-mounted MG-42's start trying to annihilate you, and you see the bullets hitting inches in front of your feet, and they actually kick up the sand! Explosions rock the screen you're looking at depending on how close you are. The sound of the actual-WW2 weapons sound very realistic. This game is awesome, it is strategic yet 3d-action at the same time. If you fall from high up, you die. If someone starts shooting you, you die quick. It's great, and it is a true teamplay-based game. Thumbs-up to id Software for AGAIN creating a masterpiece :)
