Summary: Smooooth Execution
Review: After playing the mulitplayer demo for the first time (One level for 4 hours straight) I must say that I am very very impressed by the job that Gray Matter has done with this project. Of course, id Software games are always groundbreaking, innovative, and just downright fun to play. I have absolutely no gripes even for seeing one simple level and the preview movie. I reccomend this game to anyone who likes war simulations too. It's not completely realistic, but when a member of the axis team comes down the steps and pins you in a corner with a chaingun.... sometimes the feeling can get to you of what it would have been like to be in the war.
VERY GOOD GAME!

Summary: This Game is going to be EXCELLENT!
Review: All i can say about "Return To Castle Wolfenstein" is this game is going to be great. With the Quake 3 engine and a great concept on its side this game will tower over all others. Seem as how it is coming from a traditional line of excellence starting with the original Released in 1992, "Wolfenstein 3D" wasn't the "original" first person shooter (experts say that an earlie game called Catacombs 3D, aka The Catacomb Abyss holds that title), but it is arguably the most influential and the first to gain widespread success. All in all YOU HAVE TO GET THIS GAME IF YOU ENJOY A GREAT FIRST PERSON SHOOTER!

Summary: Der Shooter des Jahres. 100%ig
Let's buy it and try it. You habe to see it for yourself

Summary: Awesome single player and multiplayer game!!
Review: Don't listen to the guy that said this game isn't as good as the DoD mod. Not only is the single player game great, but multiplayer is awesome!! Go download the multiplayer demo if you don't believe me! The graphincs are amazing, and they've balanced the various units so no single type has an advantage. Although the zombies in the single player game can get old, the game does have a wide variety of evil-doers to pump full of lead. An the A.I. is extremely smart, which is both challanging and refreshing! Go buy this game ASAP!!

Summary: Poor compatability
Review: I have three reasonably new computers in my home - all AMD 1400's and a PIII 1,000. Lots of memory and high end video cards (ATI and Matrox). The game won't run on any machine. Same error message, and NO support from ID Software.

This was a big waste of money and a disappointment. Don't buy it unless you feel really lucky, and have some money to waste.

Summary: Top Game
Review: I just played the multiplayer demo and I predict that Return to Castle Wolfenstein will be in the list of top games of 2002. The graphics are better than Counter-Strike. RTCW also has a interesting strategic element--the various professions (soldier, engineer, doctor, and lieutenant). And I like the World War II theme (Axis vs. Allies).

Summary: Great game, but the best stuff actually comes for free!!
Review: I must admit, I was hooked right from the start. I first downloaded the Wolfenstein screensaver and was knocked out by 4 stunning Playboy babes (.. now where is the closest Lebensborn!?). I then downloaded the Wolfenstein movie trailer which absolutely blew me away with a stunning video and a fantastic musical score; which even included a great Adolph Hitler background monologue (.. which way to the Lebensraum Campaign!?). I then downloaded the Wolfenstein Multiplayer Demo and I could not believe how good this game was (.. now where can I join that Panzer Division so I can use my Panzerfaust and Venom gun!?).

With a triumvirate like that, I felt that neither Activision nor I could lose. So I went ahead and bought the game. But now I feel a bit let down.

RTC Wolfenstein actually consists of 2 separate games: though similar in design, the single player version has a different feel to the multiplayer version. The single player version although visually and artistically is beautifully done, is after a while just another shoot'em up type of game which offered nothing original (I believe Half-Life and System Shock 2 has done better in this area). The game also suffered from frequent lock ups and jerky motion and sound.

The multiplayer version when compared to Quake III Arena could not match the shear spectacle of Quake III weapons, colour visuals and explosions (though it's overall design including a flame thrower, mini-gun [Venom gun] and grenade-launcher [Panzerfaust] were impressive nonetheless). But what Wolfenstein Multiplayer lacks in colour spectacle, it certainly has made up for in mental logistics. After you get the hang of it, Wolfenstein Multiplayer is highly enjoyable when working with your team mates; in co-ordinating, supplying, out-witting and destroying your enemy. However the full version comes with only 8 Internet game play scenarios and after stomping 1000 times on the beach sands and German bunkers of the Internet 'Beach Landing' demo version, one tended to get a bit tired of more of the same in scenes which include a village, submarine facility, supply dump, castle...etc.

So if you have already downloaded the screensaver, movie trailer and multiplayer demo, then you have already experienced 80% of what RTC Wolfenstein has to offer (which costs nothing). If you want to see some nice artistic WWII genre designs or some other Internet multiplayer scenes (besides the demo 'Beach Landing' scene), go ahead and buy this game.

Full version of RTCW single player:--------> 3 out of 5 stars

RTCW screensaver:-----------------------> 5 out of 5 stars
RTCW movie trailer:-----------------------> 5 out of 5 stars
RTCW multiplayer demo:------------------> 5 out of 5 stars

Summary: The New Standard for On-Line Team Games
Review: Incredible eye-candy graphics, realistic stereo sound, well balanced weapons, no silly running and jumping abilities and real damage when you are hit.

But the real gem here is the team play. You NEED to have a team balanced with soldiers, medics, engineers and lieutenants. Because of their unique abilities (and limitations), it requires you to help each other (unlike the independent-semi-team play of Quake III).

This is a must have just for the online gaming (although the single player does look like it has a promising story and missions).
