Summary: HOLY CRAP IS THIS AWESOME!!!
Review: Hey everybody. The first day that I picked this up and played this on the PC, I was just truley blown away. I look back on it now, and it blows me even MORE. The graphics are completley polished, it's compatible with the new Windows Xp operating system, has most EVERY Sonic character in it, such as Super Sonic and Amy, the two-player split-screen rocks, and you can even play with a friend(s) in a network! HOW COOL IS THAT!
I'm telling you, the first chance you get, BUY THIS GAME!

Summary: Sonic R is the best Sonic Game Ever!!!!!!!
Review: I could play this game hours upon end. I remember the day I Got all of the characters, stages, and Chaos Emeralds. This game is a classic.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I got this game 2 years ago for PC, being a fan of all the genesis games, and it was nice to see a departure from the horrible isometric perspective of Sonic 3D Blast. But once you've been playing it for a while things start popping up that are almost impossible to ignore, which sends the game to an early death:

1.Poor graphics. All the characters look like they're from Crash Bandicoot 1! cubed hands, MASSIVE pixels, each stage 'appearing' on the horizon...

2.Skidding and controls. In a race against the computer once you run into a corner that's IT. In order to turn around you have to turn a whole 360 degrees in what seems like slo-motion. Also, especially during the rain and snow, skidding becomes sure a pain and the only way to overcome it (unless you're Amy or Robotnic) is to double-jump, fly or glide!

3.Music. THE LYRICS ARE KILLING ME!! 'Livin in the city, ya know, ya got to survive... ya got to keep that dream alive, where ev-rything is dream, and fan-ta-seee!!' Had to turn the sound off sometimes

4.Egg-robo. Why would ANYONE want to use him as a character?

5.Length. Far too easy. And once you get supersonic the only way to keep him for future games is to save once you have 6 emeralds and then collect the seventh one each time:P Able to clock in hours.

6.Only five tracks!

7.Bugs galore. Whether it be gaps in the scenery or on the track (there's one loop where, if you press against the side while in a roll, you fly out of the stage and exit the game boundary) or sticky keys.

Balloon race: What? no battle mode! Balloon race is fun with a friend for a while, then gets extremely tedious once you're both searching for the last balloon hidden in some obscure place.

Pros:

1.Secret characters. Apart from Egg-robo the secr4et characters are really good racers, each an upgrade of their 'real' counterparts. The tails doll rules! Supersonic is super everything:)

2.Original racing options. like 'reverese' and 'tag'.

3.Open paths. Lots of shortcuts to learn.

4.Weather. Only racing game ever to have random weather effects!

Overall, if you want a slight sonic diversion that's low on replay value, fun for a while but with lots of problem areas, consider buying this game. Just turn off the speakers.

Summary: good and great
Review: i got this with no idea whith sonic and could not play it due to system requierments but once i got it working it was great! it has huge courses, total control, and the best music on the planet because the music has words! try to get it for saturn because i heard it was beter but the PC is the only one i played because i got it when N64 was popular. the only reason i did not give it 5 is because the controls do not work well on PC but all in all i love this game sssssssssoooooooo much that one day i spent 5 hours playing it!

Summary: Classic Sonic
Review: I liked this game from the first time i played and that was when it came out a few years ago. I think that the music was what attracted me in the first place when it came out. The music is real and actually has real lryics to go along with it. I Also like the fact that its a racing game, but you're on foot!! The game isn't very long or hard but is pretty entertaining and gets better when you get the hang of it.

Summary: Unusual, but fun.
Review: I too, never owned a Saturn during it's "glory" years, and because of that I missed out on Sonic's R and 3D. Huge cheers to Sega then, for bringing both to the PC - sooner or later it really needed to happen.

Sonic R is a curious little racer. The controls are initially a little tricky due to the incredibly fast pace (p300+ owners might be better off playing this in software just to slow the damn thing down - it was _too_ fast on my k6-2 300 even with my humble voodoo2, let alone with my k6-2 450), but it didn't take long to get used to them. Further as most of the characters run on foot, it takes a while to realise that you can go almost anywhere. Great stuff!

The graphics are very rich and colourful, if somewhat simple compared to todays' 3D heavyweights (including Sonic Adventure), and all the racing tracks (except perhaps for the finale) have many little secret areas and short cuts. With gamepad in hands and my amp blasting those tunes out as loud as possible, it wasn't long before I was snatching gold medals and getting all the Chaos Emeralds. Therein however, lies Sonic R's two major flaws: once you're used to the controls, the game just gets a little too easy. And also, 5 tracks isn't really enough, just like 4 tables weren't in Sonic Spinball. But unlike Spinball's large tables, the tracks in SR are ultimately rather small - although you won't really notice it at first.

In closing, SR is a fun little game. A lot of fun - something that is sorely missing from 99% of the new releases for... well all the major gaming systems really. All Sonic fans should buy it, obviously, but for goodness sake make sure you steer well clear from the easy difficulty. Even better, keep it on hard.

4.5 out of 5, if I could! :)

Summary: It's Great!!!!
Review: This game is a little too easy, but with all the secret characters, it's sure to be a little more complex than a little kid's game.

Summary: A must-have for Sonic fans.
Review: This game is amazing! Because I don't own a Sega Saturn, I found a copy of this game for the PC and rejoyced. "Yes! A Sonic game I haven't played yet!" I immediately popped this in my computer (after purchasing it, of course) and began playing. Needless to say, I was not dissappointed... except for the fact that it only took me a couple of hours to beat, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. But other than that, this game is great - beautiful graphics, fun characters (Doctor Robotnik rules!), and cool tracks. And the soundtrack - simply perfect. The lyrics might get on some people's nerves, but I, for one, enjoyed them (corny as they were), and find myself humming the tunes constantly (though be sure to make note that you do, in fact, have the option to turn off the singing for just plain-old instrumental accompaniment). This is very relaxing music and perfectly suited to the game. I could go on and on about how great this game is... but I won't, for lack of time and space. Ahem. Anyway, this is simply a must-buy - for Sonic fans especially. I found it to be the perfect complement to Sonic Adventure, and (for those that haven't played SA yet)it nicely introduces gamers into Sonic's new, 3D world. Bravo, Sega!
