Rating: Summary: Novalogic should've stopped with Delta Force 2 Review: Delat 2 had everything I could ask for, lots of action, weapons terrain, everything. It was an improvement over Delta 1 by having slightly simpler keyboarding as well as the ability to blow more things up and a couple of hidden battles if you knew how to unlock them. Too bad Novalogic had to throw it all away, changing just about everything. I haven't played it yet, CD-ROM drive troubles, but the layout, graphics and just about everything else have been changed. My copy is I guess what would be called a reissue with the smaller box, it came with the Cd in a paper envelope, not a jewel case, and no instruction booklet (a shame as you don't use the keyboard exactly as you do in the first Delta's but more like the fourth one). I'm done with Novalogic.
Rating: Summary: fun internet/lan game Review: The single player missions for this game are moderate, but it more than makes up for this in its multiplayer. I started playing this game at lan parties, and started out just under evenly matched with my friends (who play online in every waking moment, except while eating) and I still had a great time. I think it is just about the best fundamental FPS out there, just plain good and realistic.
Rating: Summary: Graphics overshadowed by strategy and gameplay Review: When I bought this game a few months ago, I had heard good things. But I expected nothing like what it is: a good, solid military FPS with enthralling gameplay and almost infinite replayability. Some say the graphics are a bit outdated, and they are, but you will not care when you are exploring huge environments that span for hundreds of miles, looking for a suitable strategic sniping spot, or rescuing hostages under extremely heavy fire. There are some perks, though, to the graphics. For instance, the terrein effects are great, and the skys in this game are realistic and crisp. The downpoints include gun detailing and human figure, but those are only minor details. The sound is great in this game, it is very realistic. If an enemy yells a hundred meters off, it really sounds that far away. You can tell the distance of an enemy's gunfire and have the advantage. On top of great sound effects, marvelous gameplay, and suitable graphics is one of the most addictive and fun multiplayer/novaworld gaming system. I thought I would loose intrest after I beat the single player missions, but I diddn't, and I certainly have not lost any intrest in the internet games, citing the game's enormous replayability. There are several different specialities to work as in DFLW: Sniper, gunner, aquatic, medic, or close quarters battle. Each with their own special abilities, the sniper can snipe without his breath affecting him, the gunner can belt off round after round of machine gun fire and not worry about recoil, etc. Fun is an understatement when describing this game, and it was well worth the price of 30 dollars that I paid for it. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: This game lacks the essence of FPS Review: Well what can i say this game is not worth your time. I mean come on, 1 shot to the computer and his dead. I even shot his foot and his dead. The AI is not so good, for example I was running toward the computer and he passed right in front of me and then turned back to get his shot, takes him long enough to shoot. Overall, this game is not worth a cent. I recommend not to buy.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Game...... Highly Reccomended Review: OK, Heres the deal: DF is a great game. The best FPS I have seen out there. Good Graphics, excellent multiplayer. What else could you ask for? Well, I would certainly like better AI. I mean, a huge war is going on outside, and one terrorist sits in the shack adn chills. I walk in, and he...ate...grenade. Also, an enemy soilder can die from a shot in the leg. Thats right, enemy soilders DIE froma simple shot in the LEG! Please, NovaLogic, make some stronger soilders. Overall, an exellent game-- Highly Reccomended.
Rating: Summary: And then... Review: Okay I finished it, I enjoyed it, and now I want more, more, more.
Rating: Summary: Another good Delta Force, still bad AI,only 30 missions? Review: I have owned all the Delta Force games but this one is the worst. Delta Force Land Warrior has only 30 missions, and the original and 2nd one have over 40 each. Also, the screwy AI is still the same. The only reasoon I liked this game is because it has good weapons: M4/MK, OICW, Steyr AUG+ M203, UMP, Calico, MP5SD, Pancor Jackhammor, MM1 grenade launcher, FN MAG, M249, .45 SOCOM and SD, P11, and the very evil Glock 18. If you want a good military game ( but pretty short) buy this, but I warn you, its not very long. I beat it in 4 days. Also, I have a question for Novalogic: In all the Delta Force games, why didn't they include the M60 machine gun, the primary light machine of the US military. One more thing. I hate the only having 5 players to choose form. In Delta Force 1 and 2, you can choose a face and a good name. Anyway, if you want to complete your Delta Force collection, buy this.
Rating: Summary: Great Game But It's Time Is Up Review: I too have been playing the DF series since day 1. This game was by far the best. Yes, it did require a bit more system resources than the first too, BUT, it finally offered accelerated graphics whereas the first two did not.If you have a decent system, running this game in an 800 x 600 or even 1024 x 768 resolution is feasible and looks great. Many have complained about the lack of grass, but some would argue that contributed to more lag anyways. New features such as the characters, especially the medic, were great and indeed impacted strategy. All of the complaints about the AI are moot, let's face it - the die hards who by this game care nothing about single player - it's all about hopping online and and whacking someone at 800 meters with a sniper rifle powerful enough to blow away cinder blocks. Sadly though, LW's time is up, cheats have invaded, and it is simply getting old - THERE IS HOPE - DF4 is right around the corner. See you all in Task Force Dagger - look for the guy wearing the *LID tags.
Rating: Summary: great online fun Review: this game is good by itself but it has one of the largest online world i have ever seen in a game. at any point there are about 3,000 people in the public area. the only downside is that all the players are insanely good and begginers wont make it very far.
