Summary: NO JOYSTICK SUPPORT!!
Review: I can't beleive a game would ship with no Joystick/Gamepad support! Turns a 4 star into 1. There are hacks that might work, but when you pay this much for a game you should not have to hack it to get basic functionality. Kind of intresting the original Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 3d Both had Joystick Support!

Summary: This is a [cool] first person shooter!
Review: I first got and played Wolfenstein 3-D for the PC in early 1993 and ever since then NO game has broke my addiction. Until early 2002, when I saw a sequel out for Castle Wolfenstein called Return to Castlw Wolfenstein. Wolfenstein 3-D is still an old game, yet is quite fun and apparently appeals to want to be played. I considered back in 1993 a basic first person shooter with dizzy 3-D interactive first person shooter environment with 256 colors and intense realistic visual effects with sound blasting out of the computer quality effects where you can go around and perform run-n-gun oldskool game-play way beyond the limits of a basic video game. The computer I used to run Wolfenstein 3-D is an old computer from 1993 and wouldn't have Return to Castle Wolfenstein until I got my new computer from 2002, and I tried it. Wow. Return to Castle Wolfenstein features good graphics and awesome weapons with the best bosses ever and quite nice cut-scenes, with massive and fun multiplayer. What moer could I want from a game? Heh heh.

Summary: One of the Best Games of 2002
Review: I must admit that I have been watching this game since the word of its development and watching segments on TechTV's Extended Play. This is a wonderful game, great music, some intense action, nice cutscene movies, good storyline, clearly one of the best, especially considering it made Game of the Year. I have played the Demo for RTCW game and loved it, now I own the GOTY edition and love it as well. I have also played Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo and own the full version of that game as well; aside from this I have played the Demo for Medal of Honor Allied Assault my first favorite, now I'm trying to get a copy of MOHAA too. I'm an avid FPS gamer, you will love this game, pick it up today, you won't be disappointed if you're into war type games.

Summary: I don't Recommend this game............
Review: I'm a big QUake2,QUake3,Half Life TFC fan and as such they were Jewels but Return to WOlfy...is a Doggie BOne ready to be buried..

The maps were way too small..... cramped
and not scaled properly.....

THe baddy layouts were poor and not balanced....

The Objects like health packs, etc were difficult to see....

The Alarm map was incredibly irritating....

My uninstall of WOlfy didn't work and one of the missions
wouldn't end properly..... What a mess.....

The bottom line is forget about Wolfy....

Summary: Good, but nauseaous(really,-_-) gameplay.
Review: If you bought any game and read their maunals and flip the first page or the last page(that part usually contains the "non-fun-game stuff")you might find warning messages about that some people might feel dizzy or even get unconsciousness when playing games and stuff.
And why I mentioned this is that that this game might put some waring message on the box that this game whether you're not weak to games you might really feel dizzy after playing for few ten minutes(joke).
ok I said some kind of joke to make it funny but it's not a lie.
I really feel dizzy about playing ten minutes and it really doesn't seem that much of "personal problem" because I played UT, Medal,CS and more kinds of FPS but didn't feel any dizziness when playing those.
So I think I'll show why I think this game has high nausea rating(at least, high for me).

1.Too fast movements(espacilly camera view)
2.Castle style textures like gray, harsh and blurry looking textures
3.Bit outdated graphics
So 1+2+3= (I can't play it anymore(too dizzy for me).)
Summary: If you are thinking about buying this game make sure you try before you buy to figure out that you're surely immune to the nauseaous graphics.

Summary: Extreme blood and gore
Review: If you played the original W3D, you know what to expect. Yes, this game is all about killing the enemy that's out to jump at you from every crook and cranny. Killing is spectacular and realistic - blood and guts, body parts flying, flesh being incinerated - this is not for the faint in heart. The enemy here are the Nazis and their ill-begone undead which turn against anything living, including the Nazis themselves. The game consists of 7 episodes ("levels"). My favorite ones are the mountain tram episode (with spectacular mountain views that will give you vertigo), the church episode (where hot Nazi commando babes in tight leather and high heels will blast you to pieces with their silenced high-powered submachine guns), and the "village" episode with realistically rendered medieval town in winter, where snipers are waiting for you in second-story windows. The catacombs will give your heart alarming palpitations, when the creepy undead break out of walls and drop down from ceilings to feed on your flesh. Just shooting them is not good enough - some will deflect your bullets back at you! Others will take entire clips of ammo to be laid to rest. The game requires that you master stealth (they hear you coming and you can hear them and their conversations). The knowledge of weapons and their effectiveness against specific targets is also something you will learn along the way as you die many times trying. My favorite is the high-powered bolt rifle with the scope for taking out lurkers from a distance. You'll also get three submachine guns (a standard German issue, a big-bore Thompson with excellent stopping power but limited ammo, and a silent high-powered auto that must be discharged with short bursts in order not to overheat), a silencer for your semi auto sidearm and grenades. Watch out - them Nazis may kick a grenade back to take you out! The binoculars allow you to scope out the terrain before moving in. Found armor makes you less vulnerable. But watch out where you step or you'll fall (and die). Don't hit civilians or your own men - this will abort the mission immediately. There are, of course, secret areas and treasure to be found. There is beer to be had for stamina and food for health with pretty bar tending freulains begging you not to kill them. A drunk soldier adds some humor to this world of sadistic violence - but he gets a bullet in the back as well.

The graphics are excellent at high res setting. The sound is pretty good with a great deal of terrifying racket in the catacombs and German war tunes emanating from radios. The performance is smooth and fast on my 1.6GHz Athlon Win2000 Pro machine, and the game is super-stable.

Drawbacks? Too few episodes and not much of a replay variation with a single story path. The last episode is the typical Meet the Mega Monster affair, with everything coming at you at once. I haven't tried the multi player yet.

Summary: It has a little more.
Review: It is true that it is not a necessity for previous owners, but it will have a new map pack that has not been released before. The maps were made by Nerve and Splash Damage. If you want to see screens shots, some are available on planetwolfenstein.com.

Summary: Not a classic in my book
Review: Judging from the other reviews of this game I read on Amazon and on other sites I was truly expecting to be impressed. The fact of the matter is that I wasn't - and here is why:

- The settings of the game are, more often than not, in some darkened basement, house, or outside at night. The ones that weren't like the level where you infiltrate the camp in search of the sniper rifle, were enjoyable to play and took advantage of the graphic capabilities of the game. The dark maps were just boring and hard to see in. Even after extensive in game and video card tweaking I couldn't get the game where I could see it without eye strain.

- I wasn't around in WW2 and can't say for positive but I'm pretty sure the Nazi's didn't resemble the bad guys in a 1960's James Bond movie. Leather halter tops and hot pants on the female soldiers? Goatee's on the SS guys? Laser guns and night vision scopes? The folks at Activision might as well have replaced the paintings of Hitler on some of the walls with Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator. It angers me to see people water down and nicen up history and evil to turn a buck on it.

- The same rehashed FPS cliche's that were invented way back when the original Wolfenstein, and later Doom, Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior, etc. are still used here. After big fights you find a room with health packs and ammo in it. Can't someone come up with a more inventive damage and resupply system than that? Is that going to be the way FPS game are when I'm a senior citizen?

In short I think the only thing that sets this game apart is the use of some superior video processing technology, and maybe the creativity of some of the maps (layout). The story is lame, the gameplay is often times boring, the settings are straight out of any haunted house horror movie that has ever gone straight to video.

It must not have been much of a year if this was the best that came out.

Summary: ...possibly the most underrated game ever
Review: listen, forget the single player based missions, go out, buy a nice fast computer and a good cable hook up to the internet, after you got that, GET THIS GAME, why may you ask? simple. the single player based game leaves out many teammplay aspects seeing how its just a single person that runs around, even though a vast array of different enemies really keeps you on your toes. as for the multiplayer, this is easily the best aspect of the game, so many programmers have created different types of mods and other things, like shrub mod, bani mod, osp and wolf tactics, that just when you get sick of playing one style of the game, you can move onto another mod, playing online is truely like a brotherhood in this game, portraying yourself as a great player and an easy going attitude will really increase your popularity, but like any game, don't expect to be good at this game in a day, or even a day, or even a month, just when you think you are great, go online an play some of the top ranked players and see where you stand, haha, and then when you really think you're amazing at the game, email me, and i'll get a couple of ppl together to set your feet back on the ground, hehe, anyways happy gaming
