Summary: THIS GAME WILL MAKE YOU SCREAM, "I AM A JEDI!"
Review: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy will make you feel like you are a jedi. You start out as a teenage "jedi-apprentice-to-be" nammed Jaden. Throughout the game, you fight through millions, yes, I mean millions,of foes. There are many types of enemies throught the game. I've played smoothly with as many as 50 enemies within 20 ft. of me. In times of high danger, you have only 2 friends: your double-eged, dual, or single-bladed, lightsaber, and cover. Also, unlike in Jedi Outcast, where you are a jedi no matter what, you can choose which side of the force you want to be on. It really helps the games "feel."

I have only three complants for this game and they are as follows:

1. The story could use some work. You start out in a short "tutorial" type traaining mission and then have a set of five missons that can be played in any order and have no relation to each other whatsoever. As bad as it may seem, you don't really need much of an incentive to slay a mutated rancor while being attacked by 20 reborn warriors, now do you?

2. The game is a bit slow at times, especially on the level where you are trying to sabotage an imperial tibanna gas platform. You can actually see the frames moving, but that can be solved by simply turning the graphics settings down.

Overall, BUY THIS GAME RIGHT NOW AND STOP SITTING IN FRONT OF YOUR MONITOR, EATING A BAG OF CHIPS!!!

Summary: The greatest FPS of all time
Review: Yes, I said the title, and I meant the title. I've never played a game from the FPS genre which I've played for so many hours on end. The single player has a lot of replayability, at least for me. You're able to select from 5 different races, and customize them from clothes, color of clothing, faces, and, in the case of the twi'lek, skin color. Then you create a lightsaber by choosing from a bunch of different hilts and 5 different colors. Once you're done with creating your character, sit back and enjoy the cool cut scenes, story, and gameplay.

While the single player is good, multiplayer is even better. I've spent hours playing against other players online.

The duel servers are fun, and a good way to improove skill. You wait in line as about 5 other people fight the current champion of the server. Once the champ is down, he goes to the back of the line and the person who beat him fights until he, too, is defeated. Duel servers disable force abilities and guns, so you have to rely on your raw saber skills to win, which is why I said these are good practice servers.

CTF and siege I don't really enjoy. I haven't played them enough to give them a full review, though.

FFA and team FFA are where the real fun and laughs of this game are. This is where you put the skill you built up on duel servers to use. Force abilities and usualy guns are enabled on these servers, besides the standard lightsaber. While jumping into a chaotic setting of 5 players all fighting eachother with lightsabers is fun, even more fun is blowing them all to pieces with a rocket launcher. If guns aren't your thing, you can also electricute them with force lightning. There's nothing quite as satisfying as meeting the current leader in frags near a ledge, and easily pushing him into a bottomless pit or lake of lava with force push.

If that's not enough, you can also select from 3 different styles of lightsabers (single, dual sabers, or saberstaff, which is what darth maul used). Also, you can choose from a ton of characters from the game to use. If playing as the game's final boss, or a stormtrooper with darth maul's lightsaber doesn't appeal to you, there's the character creation option from single player. If you're STILL unsatisfied, take a trip over to jk3files.com and download some fan-made skins, models, maps, and even new races to play as in multiplayer and single player. Some of the skins in my collection are Link (from Legend of Zelda), Spider-man, and Darth Vader. Some of the races are Chiss, the lizard race that Desann was, and even JAWA!

This game, and Jedi Outcast, for that matter, shouldn't be in the FPS category. The only reason they are is that you can use guns if you want to (you usualy don't, it's almost never a good idea in single player). They really need a new genre dedicated to them. I call it TPF, Third Person Fighter. After playing a while, you'll see what I mean. Using lightsabers take skill, and there are different combos and moves you can do by pressing certain things at certain times. For example, the rolling stab move is foward, crouch, primary attack. Butterfly is foward, then jump and attack at the same time.

I really recommend this game, it's a must have for fans of star wars or FPS or both.

Summary: Enjoyable, but with some detractions
Review: "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" is the latest offering from LucasArts, and I'm happy to say it delivers in many areas. At the same time, however, this new addition to the Jedi Knight family has its detractions, and definitely fails to live up to its predecessors.

Unfortunately, the interesting story that usually accompanies the line of LucasArts Star Wars game is painfully lacking here. "Jedi Outcast" had a storyline that could have easily been translated into a novel. The story surrounding "Jedi Academy", however, has a rushed and undeveloped feel to it. The result is an uninteresting (and dare I say boring) story that lacks most of the charm we've come to expect from previous installments.

That said, the game play is still magnificent, even to the point of rivaling "Jedi Outcast." Choice of light sabers is an excellent addition to the game and definitely increases the fun of lightsaber duels. There are many new moves as well, including special combinations that produce some great acrobatics. Another plus is the plethora of saber wielding opponents throughout the game. Unlike "Jedi Outcast", where saber opponents didn't appear until half way through the game, "Jedi Academy" introduces them at an early stage and they stick around for the length of the game.

The only downside to game play is the system requirements. These are much heftier than those of "Jedi Outcast." At the same time, the graphics seem to have taken a plunge, which is odd considering the increased system requirements.

Overall, the game is well worth a lot. I wouldn't spend $40 on it, though. Wait until the price gets more reasonable.

Summary: Jedi Acadamy: Much Better than expected
Review: Jedi Acadamy is third game of the Star Wars: Jedi Knight series. It uses the same old Jedi Outcast Engine but it's developed and way better than JK2. The Game is costomisable and it's the coolest part. You can design your player and the Lightsabertoo. The story line is great and there are many extra stuff like more force powers, duel lightsabers and double-bladed lightsabers. It's way cooler and Lucasarts has done a neat job on it. It even has Kyle Katarn, the hero of JK2. It ports good graphics, sound and rich game play. Let's hope Knights of the old-republic is even better.

Summary: pretty good game but can be improved
Review: the graphics are good, the lightsaber fighting is good but the choice of weapons to use can be improved and it can have better menus. it is worth the price in my opinion.

Summary: Better than Outcast. Just.
Review: Well, I must say this is a little better than Outcast. There are certainly many points which made this game more enjoyable for me. But there are some other points which I thought were not so good.
On the good side: Academy has a much wider variety of choice than Outcast. Here you get to choose almost every mission from a menu screen. You also get to design your own character at the start of the game. And, as you progress through the game, you can add force powers to your inventory as you see fit. In other words this isn't just a romp through some tough levels that you can beat by simply getting to the end. You actualy have to think on this game and make the right decisions as you go. It makes all the difference at the end. You even get to choose between the Dark side or the Light. Another great point about Academy is the wider variety of planets to visit. One of the dullest points about Outcast was the monotany of the environments that you played in (the first 5 levels being the worst of all). In Acadmey though, you get deserts, jungles, cities, asteroids and even an 'Aliens' style planet with acid rain. So theres always somthing to see on the next mission. Then there's the addition of Speeder Bikes, Tauntauns and Walkers to ride on. Great playing experience on those bikes that reminds me of Return of the Jedi.
On the bad side: the game, for the more experienced of Jedi Knight gamers, is over too quick. Which isn't too bad, considering that you can play it again in a different way and get different results. But still, you think that they could have put more complex puzzles in, like they did in Outcast. The other bad point is the weak and predictable storyline. I understand that with a game that allows this much choice in playing, the story can't be too pre-determined. But it could have been better than this. Perhaps some better interaction with other characters would have helped, or at least some different enemies. How come I havn't seen a game yet involving the Yuzaan Vong that feature in the SW story books. That make a change.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed trolling through it, and I will be playing it again in a different order to see what happens. I'll go for the Dark Side this time, he he.

Summary: One of the best SW games yet!
Review: I have played all of the dark forces games from the first all the way to this one. I have to say I love them all, great games( although I wish they would have the Darktroopers come back they were fun) I loved this game the moment I played it. My only complant ( sorry if it's misspelled) is it was too short. For those of you who didn't read the book Boba Fett killed the Sarlace and got away. One fun thing to do is cheat to spawn a mutant rancor to kill that annoying Desann and Tavion you spawned. A really fun thing to do is go to the sand worm one and spawn rancors and mutant rancors, it's fun as #ell to see the worm eat them. I say this is a great game, if you like star wars then I reccomend this game for you.

Summary: Addictive, very addictive...
Review: This was the first "Star Wars" based game I've played, so I'm not gonna compare it to others of the series (although I'm now trying to hunt 'em down due to playing this one).

In my opinion, this game does play out like the movie. It has the music, the sound effects, the layouts, the characters and everything. I got this game as part of a sound-card bundle, and I've been playing it obsessively since I loaded it.

I like using the Force to choke Storm Troopers to death, using dual light-sabers (and you can pick which color saber you want), exploring all kinds of terrains and clipping off people's limbs with said light-saber.

Some of it is a bit contrived (like didn't Boba Fett get eaten by that big worm thing when Luke opened up his jet-pack in the movie? I mean, how is he now chasin' you all over one of the missions if he's supposed to be worm chow?). Also the cameo apperances of most of the cast seemed a bit more like "We were in the movie!" than blended into the story.

Otherwise, great game. Replay-ability is fairly high... I'm planning on playing it through again twice. Once with a character who's almost totally "Dark Side" and another totally "Light Side". You DO get to pick which side your character is on, and you make decisions based off which side you wanna be on... also, your jedi masters will let you know how close to the dark side you are.

Requirements: I was runnin' it fine on a Athlon 1800+, GeForce 4 Ti-4200 and 512 Megs PC-2100 (Windows XP). Very few slow-downs, no mess-ups. I upgraded to a Geforce 5900FX, but it looks good and runs great on a GF4.

Summary: Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Review: Jedi Acadamy is the next best Star Wars game after Outcast. Play Jaden a young acadamy student and stop the Dark Jedi's from stealing the Dark Side energy and using it for their own evil ways. Costumize your charecter. Choose lightsaber colors from single, dual and two sided sabres. Pick four out of five mission. Choose and upgrade the force powers. Ride Swoop bikes and Tauntauns. Even choose your path to the Light or Dark Sides. There are not much change in graphics but the levels are well desinged and very large. I have a PIV 2.4Ghz, 512mb Ram, GeForce Fx and i did not have any problems with it. If you liked Jedi Acadamy you will love this game.

Summary: AWESOME
Review: This game rocks out loud. Sure it's a little old but who could hate slashing storm troopers in half. It's way better than jedi academy, trust me. It only costs 20 bucks i mean come on. You can use force powers, a lightsabre, and a arsenal of weapons like bazookas. THIS GAME RULES, THE BEST STAR WARS GAME EVAR!!!!
