Summary: It's Been Cancelled
Review: After a silence of well over a year and a half, a moderator on the official forums announced

"It has been officially confirmed - SWAT 4 (which is slated to use the Unreal2 engine; it is also official that Urban Justice, as was, has been cancelled) has been postponed, indefinitely."

It's too bad- if they'd made this game anything like SWAT3 it would have been great.
Don't get your hopes up for a sequel to SWAT3- if there ever is one it'll be a long time before it emerges. Think Team Fortress 2.

Summary: SWAT 4 WILL DELIVER.
Review: Although there have been a few loud critics of SWAT 3 because of their personal problems with the game, SWAT 3 has delivered nothing but hours and hours of entertaining and amazing game play for me and millions of others around the world. As far as technical issues are concerned, I have played SWAT 3 on Windows 98 and 2000 and never had 1 problem.
If you have been looking for a great police tactical game, buy SWAT 3. If you are looking for an amazing police tactical game, buy SWAT: Urban Justice in September.

If you are looking for shoot-em-up, rush in and blow the room apart play, then look elsewhere. SWAT is about strategy and saving life. Although you will run into many many situations where shoot-em-up may be your only option! The unique thing about the SWAT series is that you play with 4 other team members. Unlike Rogue Spear or other look alikes, your team members seam to have an eerie realism. They seem to think and react as such. I seriously recommend you go to swat.sierra.com and download the demo for SWAT 3.

Check out the screen shots...SWAT: UJ definetly has a smoothed and refined look to it. From what I've read, there is even more realism packed into it. I don't think you can go wrong with this team and the storyline.

I suppose time will tell, although I have a feeling SWAT: UJ will deliver.

Summary: Think About It,
Review: Anybody who has played SWAT 3 will know what a brilliant and well designed game that was. So surely, we can only be able to expect better in Urban Justice. I HAVE SEEN GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE!!! Yes, I think it is at www.fileplanet.com where you can download a few minutes worth of actual footage from the game, it is not just a trailer or cutscene it is someone actually playing UJ. I expect that when it comes out in January, it will immediately become number 1 on the top sellers list. Go to various sites, read the reviews and think about what you have to look foward too.

Review: Dont hold your breath. Sierra announced this game will NOT be released in 2003 and would not confirm if it will be released in 2004. Go to the Sierra website for the game and look at the forums since they are shutting them down soon.

Its a shame. I had all of the origiinal police quest titles as well as swat 1, 2, and 3. Was looking forwark to UJ but have SERIOUS doubts it will ever be released. To make it worse The company is not participating in the forums or answering ANY questions whatsoever, save for a lone developer.

Buy Raven Shield of BF1942 instead.

Summary: Don't expect high quality, company tends to save on support.
Review: Hi all.

Support for SWAT3 was just dropped leaving it in almost unusable state.
Net game is extreamly unstable (game crashes just from attempt to ping :) ) and players are often just dropped from a game.
Poor install causes DX misconfigurations, etc.

All those tiny bits will certainly migrate to SWAT4 because of the same development team, same administration and same internet gaming support.

SWAT4 is being build in a rush, most possible having many SWAT3 unsolved bugs inside. With absolute zero support and Sierra ignorance of users problems, you would be more safe if you play demo at least some weeks before ordering and dont ever count on fixes.

Still, SWAT3/4 (after its release) community is certainly great (...well, unfortunately many good players told they will not buy SWAT4 because of bugs and Sierra approach).
But since engine is NOT designed for QUAKE-style gaming, you'll hopefully meet many adult people playing slow thorough coop.

==========
The bottom line: even if you die to buy it, sit on your hands, bite your lips, but wait at least for 3d patch.

Summary: Looks to be the best ever...
Review: I am a big fan of tactical FPS. Games like Swat 3 and Raven Shield appeal to me. For some reason, I don't like Ghost Recon...but anyway, this new SWAT game, Urban Justice, seems to me from the graphics and the videos that I have seen to be the best game in the SWAT series, and maybe even better than Raven Shield or Splinter Cell. If you don't know the idea behind the SWAT games, you are a SWAT team member based in Los Angeles. The game takes place in a future only a couple of years of. For example, SWAT 3 took place in the year 2005. However, the weapons and environments are true to this day, with Glocks and M4s, you name it! Now, in the previous game, you battled a wide variety of enemies, from psychopathic soccer dads to evil doctors and nurses. This game looks like it will be heavily concentrated on busting gangsters, the type that you usually affiliate with L.A.-hoods, bling-bling, guns and Cristal liquor. You know, the ones that remind you of Eminem or 50 Cent. I am excited towards this new approach. In the game, there seemed to be plenty of weapons to choose from, and the graphics were great. The enemies and interiors were very well modeled, and they gave a great feel of a seedy, modern-day Los Angeles. However, the sound was iffy to me, but I don't think that'll matter too much. Overall, I am very excited for this new game. Also, even if you already have SWAT 3, pick up SWAT 3 TGOTY. It has about 10x more weapons and enemies and environments. And now, you have custom missions where you can choose more weapons and even change the color of your armor. Go get it, and keep an eye out for Urban Justice. Gamespot.com has great information on the game as well.

Summary: SWAT GREAT SERIES!
Review: I dont understand why people dont like this game........I played ranibow six series which i really hated for low graphics and not as much feeling of involvement in game, but this is soo good...i just cant wait for UJ to come out~! It's soo cool...And people who say swat is full of bugs well that might be GOTY edition the original multiplayer version 1.7 was great.! NO crashes ever....and people who say the new game crashes all you have to do is download chimera and play games with it activated ONLY and no more crashing!
But i do admit sierra cvould have done a better job which i expect they will for sure in UJ :) 24 mutliplayer support, dedicated servers wow tempting ;)

Summary: The PQ series is great...
Review: I know I'm probably the only person to comment on this game that isn't one of the developers or works for Sierra, but the Police Quest series really is a great series. Police Quest 1 is still one of my favorite games of all time. That, and Jumpman. The SWAT out-growth is fun for the first-person perspective that it gives, but I've found control of SWAT team members to be a little difficult, though I'm sure that's something they've addressed that in this version. In summary, I'm looking forward to seeing how UJ turns out.

Summary: Urban Justice?
Review: I've played SWAT 3 TGOTY....seems ok, where you can control 2 elements of 5 man team...... the thing that is lacking is the deployment of sniper teams.... I mean, heck, at least the old game Police Quest : SWAT allows you to choose the part of either sniper or element leader career path.

With the option of being a SWAT sniper would be great. That means, you can watch the element move in dynamic or stealth from high grounds.

The other options is to have the front man use those riot shield to protect themselves from bullets. Still here are the must for these game to shine:

1) delpoyment of snipers (players can take the role of sniper)
2) use of riot shield by element
3) use of several elements (5 man team x elements)
4) more hostage rescue, (ie, terrorist will kill the hostage if they see SWAT breaching etc.)
5) underground train, aeroplane or even jungle siege (i know this is not Rainbow six, but heck, wouldn't it be great to have this scenarios?)
