Rating: Summary: It's no Urban Ops... Review: After waiting an awfully long time for Black Thorn to come out, I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. It looks like this was slapped together over a long weekend. Many of the levels just combine textures from Rogue Spear and Urban Ops. Plus, the attention to detail that made UO and RS so cool is missing (for example, signs in Italy are written in English). Also, the game itself is pretty easy. On Vet level of difficulty, I finished all nine of the new missions in three hours, forty-five minutes. Finally, for those who know their weapons, see how many mistakes you can spot. I've lost count. For Rogue Spear fans, it's worth buying; but honestly Ubi Soft, we deserve better.
Rating: Summary: One of The Best Games Ever Made! Review: Ah, Tom Claney comes out with another great Rainbow Six game. This game is so realistic, it has great grafic senes. I would rate it game of the year. Nothing comes closer to putting you in real life special forces ation. It's so real you'll be yelling "Brovo Go" in your sleep for weeks.
Rating: Summary: NOT WORTH IT!!! Review: First let me start off saying that this expansion pack was probably a last-ditch effort for R6 before Ghost Recon came out (which is an excellent game i might add). I bought Black Thorn for [price], and it only comes with 9 missions, and a couple new guns. Its VERY boring! I wish i'd never bought it. The graphics are pretty ok, the sound is good (creative EAX), game play is fine, but it just doesnt live up to the other R6's. I'd get Ghost Recon insted.
Rating: Summary: OK, and then what? Review: I am a seasoned RS (Rainbow Six/ Rogue Spear) player. I have bought every game in the series. Including this one. I didn't even download the Demo because I was expecting it to be brilliant. I must say, I Love ther RS series. (...) I could have made similar maps (the only real thing that changed) myself. Basically, if you know and love the RS series, wait until the price drops to get the maps. If this is your first introduction into the RS series. BUY IT NOW, then go buy the older ones if you liked it.
Rating: Summary: Rogue Spear: Black Thorn Review: I downloaded and played the demo and... This game is and look's better than Rogue Spear's expansion pack (Urban Operations) even though you DON'T need Rogue Spear to play this game. There will be 9 new single player missions with a new story and with 6 new training/multiplayer maps. There's only two in Rogue Spear, City Street Large and Double Kill House. There's also 10 new guns added to single player and multiplayer, including a new M-16 rifle (M60 Machine Gun) etc. And i'm also pretty sure, this game will include all the old guns from Rogue Spear. Some new equipment and gadgets include land mines, trip mines, and even mine detectors.... Looks like there's another "frag type" of weapon! But what's confusing, is on the box it's rated MATURE, but everything says RP (Rating Pending). In multiplayer, the "Lone Wolf" feature has been added, but i'm not sure how it works. If your a Rainbow Six and/or a Rogue Spear fan, you got to get this.. I know I will. (...)
Rating: Summary: Black Thorn Review: I have heard that this game was highly anticipated, then when it was relaesed, it was dissapointing. I really looked forward to it and i read the reviews, and i said "Forget it" and i bought a better game like Delta Force 2. I heard this game has cool graphics and neat new weapons like the French FAMAS G2 rifle, FN P90 5.7mm submachine gun, and the Steyr TMP. Although these weapons sound cool, the difference in the weapons compared to the other weapons is just noise and range. Usually, 3 round bursts from any weapon will drop a tango (terrorist). But, it has neat, new missions in cool places and has cool counter-terrorism tactics.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Gameplay Review: I just picked up a copy of "Black Thorn" and am already into the third mission of the Single Player Mode. I thought that the setup interfaces ran a bit smoother than the previous Rogue Spear games. The new weapons are cool. The new maps look and feel even cooler! As far as AI goes, I am playing in "Elite" mode and am a little disappointed with the AI's ability to come at me. Sometimes I will enter a room and the "Tango" will kinda stand there, allowing me to "pop" a cap in him before he reacts. Would be nice to have a fairly agressive opponent in the Single Player mode. But I bet the Multiple Player can remedy that fairly quickly for me. So buy and check it out!
Rating: Summary: All you people dont know wat youre talking about Review: I love Rogue Spear. And if you're here, it's because you either love Rogue Spear as well or are interested in learning to love the series. I own Rainbow Six, Covert Ops and now this is a new addition to my collection. But I am not happy. There is just nothing really new in this game. It's really more of the same thing. Don't get me wrong, this is not a horrible game. It plays well, the graphics are decent (pretty much identical with Rainbow Six:Rogue Spear), but nothing improved or ground breaking. What tends to happen when you have more of the same stuff is you get bored easily....and that I did, with this game. I hate to say it, but I never even finished this game because I got bored, plus I picked up a copy of Ghost Recon (once you go Ghost, you'll never go back). This game never really kept me going. I got to the level where you have to stop the bad guys before they escape on a bus, after a couple of trys, I just lost interest. Bottom line: If you've never played any of the Rainbow Six games and you want to start, I highly reccommend you pick up Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, every level in that game is fun and it has good replay value. I'm all about "the experience" when it comes to playing games, I strive to have a fun experience, but with this game it just wasn't there, if anything, it felt more like a job. If you own any of the previous series, I really don't reccommend this unless you really have to get every game in the series. If anything, wait for Raven.

Rating: Summary: Is this really by red storm!? Review: I own every rainbow six game. I am so so so disappointed, the textures in the game were old. Details were left out big time, I expected this to be the best on account of it being the newest, and probobly the last add on to rogue spear. And I know my guns big time, red storm paid no attention to making the guns real like. Basicly this was a last attempt to make more money, but it was worth it because it expanded th multiplayer possiblilities. I say if you like playing it online, go for it. But if you want something more than just covert ops, dont get it. I dont want to knock red storm down completely, but i play operation flashpoint. If you've played it, you would know what im talking about.
