Rating: Summary: Excellent graphics and fighting skills :-) Review: You will never get bored with Oni, because it offered lot more fun than you just expected from the rest of the action games. Comparing with NOLF, No One Live Forever, it has multiplayers accessed on its game server, but Oni is a single player pc game without having NOLF's online features. NOLF and Oni were my most favorite pc games in the year of 2001. Oni is composed of 14 major levels with excellent graphics and music design. The game level modes are easy, normal, hard. Recently, I finished with all 14 levels and got a cheatcode at the last level ending. I would like to share it with all the Oni fans in here. Press: F1, Type: shapeshifter, you will see, "Character Changed Enable." Press: ESC, Then Press: F8 repeatly to pick your most favorite fighter during the game. There were more than 30 characters on this game. They were powerful bad guys, strong security agents and civillians. Each types of these characters had different sets of fighting skills. Here I am not talking about the skills of using powerful weapons, instead, I meant their powerful "Jet Li" kinds of fatal martial moves...I don't think I need to describe them even further. You look like you are ready to rock the Oni world now. Have fun :-)
Rating: Summary: Oni rocks... Review: One of the best games of this type I played in the last years. If you're into Anime this is a PC game you should have played. There's not much searching or puzzling to do (you get a compass of where you should go to) and the game is linear, it's a more "brains-to-zero-lets-kick-[them]" game with a great combat system. Granted the backgrounds are not as detailed as could be but the game is very atmospheric and playable. On the downside, there's no multiplayer. There will be no ONI II or derivatives as the company stopped producing games.
Rating: Summary: Disturbingly Fun Review: The most engaging, and varied combat I've ever seen in an action game. With an amazingly simple array of controls you can do quite a lot. This game is not just barging in and killing everyone (or John wayneing it)it has alot of stelth and infiltration, while not being just a sniper. In the game you can't pick up more than one weapon at a time making you think. Also the saveing method of not letting you save every second made the game more of a challenge. The story line is fairly simple but then becomes quite twisted towards the end, then at the end it still left you wondering. I've also noticed it doesn't matter that there is no multyplayer, as some other reviewers thought to be a problem. Who actually plays multyplayer anyway?
Rating: Summary: Bad to Worse Review: Lets make a game with a boring and overused plot (Evil global government) remove the ability to save games when you want, plug in recycled bad guys and an awkward fighting system. We will call it Oni. PS - No Multiplayer!
Rating: Summary: ... Review: ... The Gameplay is great. Most people say that the best part is the many weapons you can fire at your enemies at point blank range. I love the combat. You can use punches, kicks, throws, and combos. for the 1st level they even give you a combo. It is so satisfying when you kill your first syndacite lackey. The most satisfying thing to do is punch him twice, kick him once, lightly throw him down the stairs, and break his neck with a sommersault jump while he is lieing in the floor. Definently worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Even a non-gamer likes it! Review: I really enjoy this game. When I first got the demo (with either Final Fantasy 7 or Omikron, the only 2 other games I have ever played) I fell in love with it. The game is fairly easy to learn. The training level got me (A beginner gamer) doing all the moves. The levels get harder as the game progresses, and what you learn is actually needed. The fighting is the best feature of the game. In Revenent, I just keep clicking mindlessly. Same with a few other games I have tried. You actually have to think out your moves and your shooting. Perhaps this game is like every other game, but I really like it. The character and (what I know of) the plot attracted me, and the fighting definately kept my interest.
Rating: Summary: One of The Best Games Ever Made Review: Oni, is one of the best games ever made. It combines revolutionary hand-to-hand combat and 3rd person shooting. Oni has is just challenging enough that it makes you work for the next stage in the game. But not so challenging that you will never beat it. I would recommend this game to anyone. It has a great arsenal of weapons, but my favorite is the martial arts combat. This game is absolutely fantastic. No question, BUY IT!!!
Rating: Summary: Oni, a game, a story, Review: I have one major problemo with this game......no way to change controls. I love the animation, and the game play, and even those "lifeless levels" that other reviews have talked about. I'm on the last level, and i cant beat Muro.....i hate this guy ... Yikes! i would say this is the best game out there, but it isnt Worth the money.
Rating: Summary: The game of the year with a few messups Review: Face it. You've always wondered if girls would come out and kick some male buts(or blow them off), but was to afraid to tell. Well, here's your answer to your prayers:Oni. It's set in the future where people like Jane Goodall probaly lost there jobs because of all the polution. You're Konoko (cool name), a police agent sent to stop a crime Syndacite, but finds out about herself in the later levels. In Oni, you learn moves every level, and ther's lotsa guns and death. The wierd thing is, you wouldn't die if someone punched your shines 17 times. But in Oni, you can. The game shows health level with tiny colored explosions, and you can heal yourself with a drug called Hypo Sprays(no, it's not an inhaler.) The only bad part: The levels are SO HARD !!!!! I mean, it's hard as [...]!!!!! But if you can struggle through it and kick some booty, it's all good.
Rating: Summary: the Action packed game you want!!! Review: When I first played this game was at a friends house and I was really impressed by the graphics and the game itself. In the beginning you get to train, this is really usefull because if you don't train you will never know some really important info. This game reminded me a lot of TOMB RAIDER because of the girl, but after playing for half an hour there weren't any similarities left between TOMB RAIDER and ONI. The girl in ONI fights the bad guys with martal art while in TOMB RAIDER it is all about guns. In ONI you are most of the time in buildings killing the bad guys. But the game is not about killing the bad guys the whole time. It is about finding out about your past. And to get there Konoko (the ONI girl) has to fight all the different kind of bad guys (in blue, red, brown, armored, suicide bombers that kind of bad guys) change outfits (from police uniform to regular jeans)open some doors, hijack some cars, rescue some civilians, learns new moves (backbreaker very powerful but very hard to perform, Devil Spin Kick and my favorite the "Neck Breaker")and kill some even bigger bad guys (Barbadus,"Ninja"). And in the end you get to know who you really are and who you really can trust. And all that combined with a lot of good graphics. But that is not very surprising if you knew who the people were who made this game. They are the people who are right now making the most promising and original game of many years... HALO!!! for more info go to the ONI website or the Bungie website. any comments, questions, suggestions e-mail me.
