Rating: Summary: Fun, fun, fun, fun Review: I've played every Command & Conquer game since the first one, and Generals blows them all away. The single-player campaigns are clever and challenging, and multiplayer is absolutely phenomenal--not just because it's a blast (which it is), but because it's SO easy to set up and play a game. No screwing around...it just works. (Quite refreshing compared to most multiplayer games.) Best of all, Generals' graphics are phenomenal. If you like to "blow stuff up real good," this is the game for you. (Okay, so the AI could be better, and purists will say this isn't really a "strategy" game. So what! Put aside your preconceived notions and just have fun!)
Rating: Summary: Beware!!! Review: Due to the extensive bugs that run rampant throughout this program that prevent it from running on many machines, EA is allowing customers to send in their original opened copy in return for a sealed copy that can be returned to the place of purchase. Companies never take this kind of action unless truly serious problems exist (e.g., Ultima 9).
Rating: Summary: Excellent game - but requires 2 CD's to play LAN multiplayer Review: Generals is a blast! The graphics are spectaculars, the sound effects are good, and the gameplay is tons of fun. I did all three campaigns all the way through. However, I am unhappy that I can't play multiplayer with my son, because the greedy bums (Electronic Arts) require that you buy 2 copies of the game to do multiplayer.
Rating: Summary: hello my name is sue and i work in a button factory Review: this game is awesome. it takes about 20 mins to play at a friends house and youll end up buying it within a week. im a RA2 veteran i miss the fast pace games online but generals has too much good stuff to let that get in the way. for one theres a ton of upgrades you can get for your tanks not to mention the new 3d engine. dont pay attention to campaign, it sucks. go online and play against people that can think unlike the AI. this game has infinite replay value. RA2 lasted me 3 years and i see this doing the same. and yes, you will suck for a couple weeks when you start even if u kicked [booty] at the old ones like me.
Rating: Summary: Best C&C Title, Possibly Best RTS Ever. Review: I have been an avid strategy gamer since the days of Dune 2000, Warcraft I, and the original Command & Conquer. I have extensively played the most popular RTS games out there, such as Warcraft II and III, all Command & Conquer titles (with expansions), Starcraft, and Brood War. However, after playing all these both online and single player, I have to say that C&C: Generals is a contender for the best RTS I have ever played. The graphics engine has vastly improved from Red Alert 2, and it is now on par with (if not better than) Warcraft III, bragging fantastically detailed 3D units and buildings. The size scale has also been realistically altered, so that now tanks are considerably larger than infantry, and buildings are considerably larger than tanks. The game uses a Warcraft-like bottom-of-the-screen command bar, which is an improvement from the right side command bar. The flashy FMVs have been replaced with cinematic in-game scenes (again, like WCIII!) which are very well done. You'll notice a few Matrix-style slowdowns and freezes in order to capture the action in these cutscenes. The game is fairly realistic, taking place a few decades from modern times. The sides are the USA, GLA (Global Liberation Army, terrorists), and China. Each side is relatively balanced and vastly different in their strategy. The USA has a huge airforce and is technologically superior to the other two sides. China has strength in numbers and its units get bonuses when grouped, but it also has several unique technologies such as nuclear siege weapons and flame tanks. The GLA excels in hit & run technology, boasting such units as Bomb Trucks and Terrorists (suicide bombers) and several vehicles that use enemy parts to upgrade themselves. While some may find the campaign a bit drab compared to other games, I found it very enjoyable and realistic. The difficulty is challenging, and there are many quirks that make it even more fun, such as reinforcements coming in by train and POWs that need to be rescued. However, if you play Skirmishes, or standalone battles, you will find yourself occupied for many hours. Online play uses a matchmaking system, and a world builder utility is included with the game, so you are practically guaranteed many sleepless nights of campaigns. There are plenty of other features that make the game worth playing, such as the General system, but I need not say more. You won't be disappointed if you like strategy!
Rating: Summary: Greatest game to date Review: Generals is one of the best games I have ever played. With the enhanced online play, realistic audio and high-res graphics, you have a complete balance of perfection. Play with or against your friends online to a variety of maps that you can manipulate to your liking using the included editor, or download new maps from others. You can choose to be the US, China or a terrorist group, taking advantage of each different style and weapons. If you like to build...and blow stuff up, Generals is the game for you!
Rating: Summary: Red Alert 2 maintains Westwood's Lead in RTS gaming Review: I am a long-time fan of Westood's RTS games, so I might be a little biased. Red Alert 2 Follows the idea of Red alert with the soviets once again on the offensive. Although now on American Soil. It gives you a decent story line for both the Soviets and Allies, with surprising twists on both sides. However, you have no control over the way the story line plays out. You can't exactly choose you missions. They are just handed to you. Also the missions are ridiculously easy, on the hardest setting the entire game took me five hours for all the missions together. As for strategy this game was very staightforward: Blow up bases. Where this game becomes worthwhile is in multiplayer(internet). With all sorts of new units you can take man to man strategy up a notch. The old-fashioned tank rush is fun still but can also be your downfall, because some units can teleport anywhere instantaniously and others can mind-control other units. These allow the more creative-not more powerful-player to easily gain the upperhand. I should know I've had the game for some while now, and know it inside out.

Rating: Summary: One of the best C&C games of all time Review: I say "One of" because Generals is the best. But this isn't about Generals is it? Yuri's Revenge is extremely addicting. After about 1 year you'll get tired of it, but meanwhile you will be spending more time trying to figure out new strategies then the time spent at school. How fun is it you ask? Extremely fun. Especially if you're into Starcraft or Age of Empires. It's much simpler, and that's what I adore about the C&C games. You click and point and build. What's more fun than blasting the butt off an enemy? Invading their base with Prism Tanks and turning the base to a pile of rubble in a couple minutes, given that the computer doesn't nail you with air support or Apocalypse Tanks. I've been playing C&C games for a few years now, and this is one of the best games ever, right under Generals. My advice is to buy it immediately, you won't regret it!
