Summary: IT'S A MONOPOLY!!!!!
Review: It's a great game but a lot of system requirements. The game only let you play if you have an nVidia GEForce2 or an ATI Radeon 7500 video card. If you have another one you can play even if you have the latest drivers of your video card. For me, it's a monopoly. So, I bought the game and now I have to buy a video card because the game is not running with my configuration. Always gets: "Sorry, an error has ocurred..." or something like that. So when you do all the thing in the tech support of EA, a new message box appear blaming overheating hardware, or virus or video card problem. So, I think you have to buy a new computer with the video card that they say so you can play the game. Bless you if you have te video card that they say before you buy this game. Please Review very carefull all the things... IF YOU DON'T HAVE A NVIDIA GEFORCE2 OR ATI RADEON 7500 AT LEAST, YOU CANT PLAY THIS GAME.

By the way, the game looks great, buy how do I know? It looks like in the back of the box... it seems to be great game... USA an its allies against CHINA o something like that....

I was gonna give to the game 1 star for the system requirements, but the pics in the back of the box makes me give it two star... maybe two and a half stars.

Summary: Addictive fun.
Review: The much hyped and highly anticipated Command and Conquer Generals has arrived. I've always been sceptical of games that are surrounded by a lot of hype and anticipation. The game designers usually try to please everyone and the resulting game is typically a mixed bag of goods. The newest entry in the Command and Conquer universe certainly is a mixed bag, but in this instance that's a good thing.

Generals takes the C & C series in a new direction. Both the GDI and NOD are gone. So too are those full motion video(FMV)cut scenes. Instead we have three playable factions, cut scenes that utilize the game engine and a very weak plot.

THE STORY:
The game pits the USA and CHINA against a terrorist group known as the GLA(Global Liberation Army). The game begins with a bang as the GLA execute a surprise attack on the Chinese and begin their campaign to free the world from oppression. The opening cut scene is dramatic. This is due in no small part to the voice acting.

THE FACTIONS:
EA games have done a good job with the three sides in this game. The factions feel and play just a little differently from each other. The Americans have expensive technologically advanced units. The Chinese use sheer numbers to overwhelm the enemy and are backed up by solid air defences. The GLA have no air force, don't rely on power and have powerful(not to mention annoying)mobile air defences.

GRAPHICS:
Generals is the most visually impressive Command and Conquer game to date. Now fully three dimensional, the command and Conquer world never looked so good. Those stunning graphics have a price attached in terms of the system requirements needed for the game. If you want to run this game in all its glory you'll need a pretty decent system to do so. My computer has a GeForce2 MX video card with 64mb of memory and 512 mb of ram. Generals runs quite well on my machine(after I turned a few things off)and still manages to look good.

THE GAMEPLAY:
Addictive. Simply addictive. The game provides a few more options than your typical real time strategy game. Defensive players could quickly find themselves out gunned by more aggressive players. Early rushers may encounter problems as well. Since no one unit will win the game for you amassing a horde of one type of unit is pointless and often fatal.

THE NUTSHELL:
Simply put Command and Conquer Generals is a fun game, however it may not be for everyone. The GLA use car bombs and chemical weapons to advance their agenda and in the post September 11th world this undoubtly will not sit well with some gamers. I suspect the game developers realised this, hence the rather weak plot and one-dimensional villains. Any attempt to give the GLA any more life than they have now could have doomed the game.

That's a real shame because I think the game could have been so much better if the GLA had a little more depth. Don't let negative reviews turn you away from what is essentially a fun game.

Summary: Not Racist Just about right!
Review: The GLA= more along the lines of America's top rated enemy right now... Lets face it folks... and liberals who are still in doubt America is at "WAR."

This game C&C: Generals, was made after 9-11-01, it's a perfect reminder of what kind of world we live in... China may be our "TRADE" partner... but they are not an allie... as for the GLA, even though they are fiction... They are exactly like a certain group...

Now to all the whiners who said stay away from this game... Go to heck liberals... The point of this game is to be fun... Take out the GLA and China... USA...

Summary: OK FAIR GAME
Review: All sides are balanced, superb graphics, O.K. music, minimal lag, but 'some-to-a lot' lag exists during online gameplay depending on connection and computer speed. AI is good, despite what others say. All three campaigns are a bit short! Disappointment! You can't build walls or sandbags! You can't make trenches or alterate the terrain! No navy! BUT Overall, good game!!! ...

Summary: Mininum requirements are high.
Review: I have a Pentium III 1 Ghz with 512MB of RAM and an average ATI video card. GENERALS crashes regardless what I try to do - even on the lowest settings. I am NOT faulting EA Games - they obviously made a cutting edge game. This review should simply serve as a warning to those of you out there that are hard headed (like me) - that read the minimum requirements and think that a little more memory will make-up for an average video card. This is one of those games where size does matter. I am just trying to save some people the frustration of NOT being able to play this game.

Summary: Fabulous Game!
Review: Command and Conquer Generals is a good game. It has really good graphics, too (A HUGE jump from the old C&C games). Additionally, it has challenging missions. I would like more missions though. However, I miss the between game videos that were in Red Alert 2. The sound system has a faulty. It says things twice (there is an echo). It isn't fair that the GLA doesn't need power. Why do you need to have Generals Abilities? I feel that it is so unfair. Maybe a suggestion to EA Games would be to spend money on the abilities. I think China is the best.

Summary: Disapointment
Review: This games seems to be very racist for one which was a factor in my rating. Graphics are a major improvement. Game lacks a real plot, the plot is boring, no movies like previous versions. It can get kind of sluggish.
The strategy has not improved much, still make the best weapons and more weapons to take over your enemy, no real new strategy improvement.
Bottom line... not worth the money
