Summary: Played all the way through......twice!
Review: Wow. This is definitely the best FPS I've ever played. Realism, free-roaming, accurate weapon depictions (I love the OICW). Can't wait for the expansion(s).
Just one question. Hasn't the Army ever heard of a semiautomatic sniper rifle?

Review: TC's Ghost Recon's interface took a little learning, especially after getting used to the interface in Rogue Spear. The Pros of the game are the graphics--just incredible stuff to look at. From the weapons, the Ghillie Suits (excellently made) to the LBE the troopers wear. The missions are quite realistic, and well thought out. Of note are the recticules of the weapons, very well done and the reactions of them when they are fired. The sountrack of the game is unreal. From laying in mud hearing frogs, to hearing the wind howl on a high mountain pass, it was actually the sounds that brought me back to my days as a 90's Long Range Recon member in the Army.

The Cons: The game takes a bit of the resources on your computer. My computer stutters and crashes, and I need an upgrade on my graphics card!! It would be more fun if you could be personally in charge of pciking out the kit (flak vests, weapons, camo suits) of each trooper, as you did in Rogue Spear. The Command Interface is a little clumsy, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. It would also help if the troopers said more than the same 4 or 5 commands.

Beyond that, a great game to be proud of. I'm wondering what the next few years will bring!!

Summary: The Best Tom Clancy Game Ever Produced!
Review: In a sentance, "THIS GAME ROCKS!". If you are a person who love's first person PC games or someone who has played the Rainbow Six series, you definitely owe it to yourself to at least try the demo of this game ... . I have played the Rainbow Six series and they were all enjoyable and entertaining, but this takes the best parts of that series and amplifies them ten-fold!! I am playing on a menial system, a PII, 400 MMX system with only 192 MB of RAM and a GForce 2 MX 400 PCI card, but it still looks and plays great!!! It does need a lot of system resource available, but you don't need a super-system to run it. I can't wait until the mission pack comes out soon, although, I can't help but be disappointed a little as the mission pack is only 8 single player missions compared to the full 15 in the game. I am a bit spoiled, but after the pure fun I experienced while playing the game, it is a little hard not to. If you want overly true-to-life strategizing, then buy a Rainbow Six product or perhaps Operation:Flashpoint. If you want straight out-of-the-box fun and beautiful graphics, buy this game!!! You will be glad you did!

Summary: Good, but tough and sometimes buggy.
Review: Overall a good game, though I would wait for the price to go down. Enemy AI is good. Friendly AI is not so good. Your guys never bother to follow your lead in taking cover behind walls, bushes, anything. They get shot because they move stupidly. Graphics and Sound are good but not amazing. The main thing that makes the game worth buying is the strategic gameplay. If you just run out and start shooting, you are already dead. You need to stick to cover and be patient for most missions, which makes the few where you really need to hustle that much more difficult. Even on recruit (easiest skill level) I had to play most of the maps at least twice to get through and possibly three or four times to get through with every one still alive. Good Luck.

Summary: Rock'n' Recon
Review: This is the best 1st person shooter game I have yet to play and I have played a lot of them. Fast furious action shots ring out of nowhere. Camo is intense and AI is right on.

Summary: The Only First Person Shooter For Me
Review: I never got into first person shooters. Quake left me cold, and maybe I got prejuidiced from there. Ghost Recon is the one that sold me, though, and now I'm a convert.

I did have some technical issues, but that's what I get for not having the right system. I have a dual monitor setup and that plays havoc with installing any game. When the GeForce4 cards come out with support for dual heads, I'm sure my problems will go away. My third rate sound card produces some less than standard results as well. So if your system is not up to date, expect to spend some time with the support web site and tweaking settings. The technical issues are the only reason I didn't give it five stars.

As for game play, it takes some getting used to. It's recon, not front line battle. You want to creep up on the enemy position, and sometimes pop a single shot from your sniper, sometimes set your whole squad into rock and roll. I've only had to resort to run and gun in one mission, the one where they have MG emplacements on the second floor of the bank, and even that one benefitted from some tactical play. One unit in front of the bank pops up, gets everyone looking at the front of the bank, another unit creeps in with supressors until it's time to toss grenades.
