Summary: Great Game that is NOT too hard!
Review: Metal Fatigue is a great game with cool graphics and giant robots. The game isn't that difficualt to play and it doesn't take as long as the other guy said to build things. I don't think he knows that the more factories you have, the faster things build. Six combots in 2 hours! No way! I can build hundreds in that amount of time! Anyway, the game's multiple levels of play (orbit, surface, underground) add a huge element to strategy and gameplay. You can drill out areas of the underground, build an elevator under your opponents base and SURPRISE! Even cooler, you can steal parts from your enemy to use against them and to build for yourself!

Summary: Utterly Frustrating
Review: Metal Fatigue is a great RTS game that has many features not seen in any game. You can build giant robots using a myriad of parts, like missile launchers, axes, energy swords, plasma cannons, etc. You can mix and match between the dozen of parts to make your own unique combos. also you can build tanks, jets, bombers, and other vehicles to destroy the enemy. Also the graphic engine is very sharp and clean, with amazing textures and light effects.

With all this said, why did the game rank so low? Well I'll ya why. The game is unbelievably hard. Not hard as in Algebra hard. We're talking Level 5 Calculus for Phd candidates. I was able to beat Starcraft, Tiberian Sun and other RTs without resorting to cheating or trainers. Metal Fatigue is written so you will definately need cheats to even past level 4.

First of all, the building speeds are ridiculously slow. It takes you about 40-60 seconds to build the standard hover vehicle (which is the building vehicle). Artillery takes about 1-2 minutes, and bombers take about 3 minutes. Your robots, called combots in MF, require you to build the 4 basic building blocks: right arm, left arm, legs and torso. Each part takes a certain length of time, depending on its function. Sword arms takes 30 seconds, while more expensive arms take 2-3 minutes. You can build several factories so you can build parts faster however.

Even though building your army is half the fun on these types of games, it SHOULD NOT take 3 hours to build a decent army. I'm running a Pentium 2/300mhz with 192mb and a 16mb video card. It SHOULD NOT take me 2 hours to build 6 combots, 4 tanks and 2 missle trucks.. The worse part is your enemy always starts off fully build with dozens of tanks, combots, fighters, etc.

Even worse is the incredibly cheap AI. The computer will randomly send 20-30 fighters and combots to attack your base at once, and unless you have build a decent defense, your base will quickly be demolished. Game over! On Level 7, you start off with a handful of units. Within 3 minutes, the enemy launches nuclear missiles from their orbital base. each missile can take %50 damage off combots and 100% of your smaller vehicles within a certain radius. So while you're busy building your meager army, the enemy will randomly shoot 2-3 missiles and destroy what you have been working on for the past hour.

Also, you have three separate levels of building your base: the planet's surface, underground and the floating islands. You have to manage all three levels at once. So if the enemy is attacking your base on one level, you quickly have to switch levels and find them off. Meanwhile they'll ambush you on the top level, and middle level simultaneously just to throw you off. Remember those orbital bombardments? Well one of those can destroy whatever's on your floating island. Of course it takes your men forever to even build one orbital bombardment.

It took me 4 hours to finish the 3rd level, and 5 hours for the 5th. And we're not talking 5 hours of funfilled excitement - rather it's micromanaging idiotic peons that can't navigate around rocks, build a decent turret or even aim straight. Games SHOULD NOT be this hard. And folks, the game was set on the easy level. Don't even think about playing on the hard difficulty level.

If you're thinking about getting this game, wait until someone has cracked the cheat codes or written a trainer. Otherwise you'll have to suffer hours of slowly building your base and have it entirely wiped out by nuclear missiles, while you're in the middle of collecting enough energy to build a hover vehicle that just got blown up from the many waves of strike parties.

Summary: Comment to Sarcastor's Review
Review: Metal Fatigue is fun game due to it's endless combinations of Combots and no it's not as hard as Sarcastor makes it seem. I played level 4 on normal and it took me but an hour to beat. Metal Fatigue is considered - rts, meaning you do need strategy and the right approach. Metal Fatigue can be long or quick depending on your strategy. You can build an expanding defensive base or create a bunch of hovertrucks to gather streams of lava, and build a batallion of combots within the first ten minutes and annihalate teh computer before it has a chance to expand and start gaining an advantage due to the fact taht a computer can handle all three layers and expand simultaneosly.

Summary: AN AWESOME GAME!
Review: Metal Fatigue is just an awesome game. With 3 total battlefields, Giant make-them-yourself robots called combots, 3 warring corponations, and 8 player multiplayer, I make my point clear. Metal Fatigue does not get enough attention. The three corponations was a great idea. Rimtech, Mil-Agro, and Neuropa battle it out with everything they've got! And you can play as all three! The storyline is cool. It's about three brothers, Diego, Stefan, and Jonus Angeles. They all worked for Rimtech at the time. They find out about a great alien race called the hedoth. It appears that the Hedoth had wiped out other races. So they go and find a Hedoth droid. Jonus finds a new weapon and defeats the droid. The brothers argue what to do with the weapon, and chaos followed. Stefan was mistakenly hurt and thought dead, Jonus took the weapon to Neuropa, and Diego went back to Rimtech. Stefan was rescued and forced into service by theMil-Agro. ... In Gameplay, you choose who to be, Diego (Rimtech), Stefan(Mil-Agro), or Jonus(Neuropa), and have 10 missions on each, 30 missions in all. Also, there are 30 multiplayer missions. So with that in mind, I say: BUY THIS GAME!!!

Summary: Metal Fatigue is an excellent game!...
Review: Metal Fatigue was developed by Zono incorporated. I myself enjoy strategy games like Metal Fatigue. But Metal Fatigue proved itself to be one of my favorites. First, the graphics are absolutely stunning, with the detail of units in Red Alert 2, and the 3D of Emperor: Battle for Dune. The gameplay is awesome, with a large arsenal at your command, you can make 100's of combinations of combots which are amazing to just look at. Parts such as Laser Legs, Missle torsos, and blade fists make you lethal on the battle field. Not only that, you also get aircraft and vehicles! I never get bored of this game and I play it alot. The only downside of Metal Fatigue is that sometimes while you are playing, the game executes an illegal operation and my computer shuts it down! So be sure to save often! Other than that, Metal Fatigue is a P.C gamers dream come true!

Summary: Pure Combot Anime
Review: Most editorials reviews do give Metal Fatigue a low score due to it's lack of originality, but the game itself is much better than other rts games. Metal fatigue takes the fine points of decent rts games and added in with some of their own. Plus if you're a Gundamn Wing or Mechwarrior fan, this game is a must have. The Combots in the game are the sole reason for buying this game. The endless combinations of combot parts to create your Combot is great. You can go test different types of combinations and mess around with the parts. I had made a fleet of Combots with two shields and just watch my Combots swarm enemy combots carrying weapons and watch as my units surrounded the few enemy combots and pound them to pieces with their dual shields. Or you could make a fleet of combots with flying capabilities and load them with range attacks to kill melee attackers without receiving a blow. There's so many combinations and tactics you could use to make your combots that Metal Fatigue becomes fatiguing due to the fact taht you can never tire of trying different combinations and stopping.

Summary: Great, just great.
Review: Okay, I've had this game since about 2000, when my friend Garrett told me about it. I went through *&#$ to get it, but when I did, I was blown away. Excellent graphics, great AI, and frighteningly realistic battles all combined with a Futuristic alien setting and giant robots. What does this equal? Fun. I'm just a tad angry you can't find it anywhere, so I'm relieved I bought it early on. I just wish there would be a sequel. Im even thinking of e-mailing some of the people at Zono and trying to convince them to do just that. If you see this review and think the sequel is a good idea, go ahead and e-mail me at kyrasdraven@hotmail.com. This game=godly fun.
