Summary: Why did they disable the alias function?
Review: I like SOF2 HOWEVER those of us who use aliases are not going to be buying this game (about 40 clans that I know of).

For some reason the alias function has been turned off, this is quite annoying. For those who DON'T know, aliases allow users to customize their controls. For instance to be able to bind 10 "say" messages to a single key as opposed to have to use 10 seperate keys. Without the alias command I doubt very much this game will catch on and last for more than a month or so.

I'll be playing the demo, But to pay for a game that cannot be customized is nonsense. Everyone in the know won't give this game a second glance. Good flash and bang but as far as staying power? SOF2 will hardly last in the 'PC' game market.

Nice try Raven, but alas if I wanted a Playstation I would have bought one :(

Thumbs Down! Paying for the game is really no big deal but to invest time into playing, growing the community and forming clans without aliases... I say NAY!

Other game makers take notice...

Summary: This game owns.
Review: ... Anywho, this game is wonderful, i found the gameplay to be quite entertaining and unlike other FPS like CounterStrike, there are multiple game-modes, infiltration, deathmatch, etc. so when boredom comes with one, just play another. Also, the modeling and graphics were pretty good and very realistic, along with cool mapping. Overall, this is at the top of my 'must-buy' list for this summer and i recommend it to all FPS fans.

Summary: SoF 2, will be great!
Review: From what Ive seen of SoF 2, in the multiplayer test, and what ive read on the internet, i believe this will be an incredible game. The game play in the multiplayer test is amazing, all the weapons look incredibly realistic and also the damage those weapons do. I admit, that the graphics arent as complex as i thought they would be, but as it says in the read me "This is not a representation of the final version of the game." To me, this says, that the final version will be much better than the test. With all the amazing technology being used in the game, and the optimum system requirements (1.5Ghz, 256mb RAM, and a high end processor) the graphics will be amazing, and with 70 levels of gameplay and the random scenario generator, it will be amazing!

Summary: Soldier of Fortune 2
Review: I played the soldier of fortune 2 multiplayer test demo and it is one of the greatest games that i have ever played with a few exceptions. i would first like to point out that i think that this game is definitaly better than counter strike. the bad parts about the game is that i think the pistol is too powerful and the shotgun is way too powerful. the graphics are amzing. i would prefer that u would put the resolution on 1024/746 or something in that range for best play

Summary: SOF 2 Multiplayer Test
Review: Well, I enjoyed the demo and couldn't put the keyboard or mouse down...

I noticed that the structure of the game (2 groups running after each other, the radar map, the score screen, etc..) is highly based on the same structure that Counter-Strike had...

But we can still find some basic features from the first SOF in this new game which is nice (the characters, some weapons, controls, etc)...

All in all, I can't wait to see the full game, I bet we'll find more weapons, more maps, more features opened up for us which might change our views...

Good job!!

Summary: One of the best FPS since SOF 1
Review: I've been playing the multiplayer beta for the past 2 weeks, and have been nothing short of blown away (no pun intended). The graphics are great and the weapons are REAL. I didn't like the Microwave pulse gun or whatever it was called. It had geat effects, just didn't like that it wasn't real. SOF II however, even has the names right, unlike some games (anyone remember Goldeneye?). In response to Andrew, the "computer wiz", he ought to look at the title of the file you downloaded. BETA means that's it a test and not the final version. Of course things like the GHOUL engine weren't in and the graphics not as good. I preordered my copy the day after I played the beta. I reccomend that every else either order or go to your local store and buy it.

Summary: DO NOT REVIEW GAMES BEFORE THEY ARE RELEASED!
Review: Dude, the SOF Multiplayer TEST you have is exactly that, a test. How about waiting for the full version before writing a review? YOu have no clue about the main features of this title. Random Mission Generator for replay value, and trust me, the gore will be amazing. There is a video floating around of just how gory it can be. ... Just wait and see...

Summary: Dissapointed
Review: As a heavy FPS gamer, and as a big SOF fan, I was VERY dissapointed to find out how much worse this game is from the original. This is based on the multiplayer demo, which I downloaded 2 weeks ago.

I first realized that the game uses the quake 3 arena engine. OK. Very good. Next thing I realize is the menu layout. It [stinks]. It is just plain terrible. I couldn't figure out how to get into a multiplayer game for atleast a minute. I then realized that multiplayer games were a sinch to get into. Very good. Then I realize, these graphics are terrible! I would have never guessed this game was on the quake 3 arena engine unless I had seen it loading before the game pops up. I was dissapointed to see the graphics so poorly taken advantage of.

Besides the graphics, a few other things bugged me. I found the aiming mechanism to be quite inaccurate at times. With a pistol, i could crouch, and stand still, with the aimer very close to eachother, and then still shoot way off, sometimes at unbelievably inaccurate places. The next thing I realized is that the guns are all about the same. Machine gun, bigger machine gun, SMG, smaller SMG, sniper rifle, grenades (boring).

The other thing i realized that I was VERY dissapointed about is that there is no violence!!! I shot someones arm off, and they just groan, and they fall down! I can not see limbs being blasted off almost all of the time, and I sometimes can't even see blood!!! SOF was great for its realistic violence and great blood, guts, and other gore. SOF is nothing without it!!!

Hope this review helps, but I gotta run. PEACE
